Highly recommend this toolkit when starting your NetGalley journey. It was very helpful and easy to use.
Great advice. Gave me some ideas on how to revamp my reviews!! I will be implementing them as soon as possible!! Thank you!!
I found NetGalley’s Book Advocate Toolkit SO helpful and insightful. I have been reviewing here and on Goodreads for awhile and I found so much helpful information and great ideas. If you are looking to elevate your book reviews, this toolkit will be your best friend!
I think this toolkit could be very helpful for my reviews in the future. It makes me think more about starting another outlet for my reviews aside from just goodreads.
This was a helpful overview on how to effectively support books and authors via NetGalley. I appreciated that it was broken down into sections for different social platforms. Definitely a great place to start if you're wondering where to start on NetGalley, has some helpful tips on platforms you can use or apps that can take your content to the next level.
The "Book Advocate Toolkit" is a pleasure to read - and use! The graphics are bright and help make the tips clear, and the section on how to use platforms can be helpful for many social media efforts, not just book reviews. I'll be returning to this guide again and again. Thank you, NetGalley!
NetGalley’s Book Advocate Toolkit is the perfect guide for a beginner book reviewer like myself. It’s comprehensive, well-organized, and gorgeously designed. I’m new to book reviewing, and this guide has given me all the tools I need to feel confident in my book-reviewing abilities. I particularly appreciated the section emphasizing accessibility. I’ll be sure to recommend NetGalley’s Book Advocate Toolkit to anyone interested in reviewing books—from beginners looking for somewhere to start to experienced reviewers looking to polish their skills.
The NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit is exactly the resource I was looking for to embark on this journey into the realm of book reviewing. The resource kit covers everything from writing a traditional critical review in print to quick review videos on TikTok. I already have a list of changes that I need implement on my profiles so that I present the most articulate review for the medium. I am so excited! My mission is to help non-readers or reluctant readers find the perfect book, and I now feel as though I have the tools I need to do this properly.
Thank you NetGalley!
As a newbie bookstagrammer and NetGalley reviewer this is a super helpful toolkit to have. From tips and tricks, to ideas for posts, and ways to formulate reviews in the best way, this has it all pretty much. One thing I do wonder about that maybe could be provided is typical expected time for feedback to be provided? I feel like I immediately panic and set this like three day window to read and review the book on NetGalley but then have Instagram posts scheduled closer to release date per publisher preferences.
Otherwise I feel like any other info you need to get started or just improve in general is all there! Thank you for this!
What a really well thought out and useful guide to all things book review related. Covering guidance from setting up your NetGalley profile to suggesting and describing the different social platforms for sharing your book reviews.
Well laid out, and visually engaging. Why didn’t I read this sooner!
I wish I saw this toolkit when I first joined NetGalley! There are so many helpful tips and some great descriptions about the different member types, info about requesting books and how to get approved. Not only are there tips for new members but there are also tips for long time NetGalley users. For example, there are tips on how to write better reviews, and how to promote your review on various social media platforms, like Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and TikTok. There are actually lots of tips for joining the various book related social media platforms like booktok and bookstagram (the best one is to never tag authors in bad reviews!!!). This toolkit is very informative and is helpful on your book journey outside of NetGalley.
Thank you NetGalley!
I have find this toolkit very helpful. It is very detailed and so easy to follow Its very appealing in format and colorful. The sections it containes explains subjects from Book reviews tips, How to sections, different platforms reviews, tips about Do and Don´t in order to achieved your perfect review. It also "teaches" how to use Booktube, Booktok, Canva . . . I also like the advice for content planning in the platforms too.
A great tool for beginers rewiers!
Very helpful - Thanks NetGalley! I love how NetGalley continues to support its members :) I'm hoping the next one will give us advice on asking for an extension!!
This guide was so helpful in not only understanding NetGalley but also innovating and interesting ways to use social media and communicate bookishly with others. Thank you!
This is a must for anyone that receives books through Netgalley. I actually didn't read this until I had been reviewing books for several years and I still learned some new things. Netgalley provided a wonderful opportunity to read books in advance and this guide helps to provide meaningful reviews. I hope that my reviews have improved since reading this guide.
NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit was extremely helpful for a newer reviewer like myself and it could also serve as a refresher for a seasoned pro. The NetGalley Book Advocate Toolkit gives you a well rounded view of what to do first, second, third and so on. I found the tips for each social media platform very helpful. As well, I enjoyed the visual aspect of the toolkit as it was very appealing and dare I say fun!
One of my favorite things about the NetGalley Book Advocate Toolkit is that is a resource that I know I will come back to time and time again.
Thank you NetGalley!
This has been a really handy little guide, I struggle with writing reviews and this has helped so much with phrasing things, and structuring my reviews.
Ironically, this review isn’t particularly structured but this book has been fab. Thank you!
This guide was so helpful! I’ve been using NetGalley for about 8 months and found some useful nuggets I never would have thought would be important (checking publisher pages to see what they’re looking for in a reviewer, ways to hone your profile, etc). I especially loved that there are tips for each platform and reviewing style so you can really personalize your content and make it unique to you as a reader. Good guidance for new users and veterans alike!
A great guide to beginners on Netgalley. I enjoyed reading all the tips and tricks, and I even took some notes while reading!
I recommend all new users read this guide before embarking on this journey!
This little manual to start writing reviews on social networks is super interesting and I would have liked to have had it three years ago when I started on bookstagram.
It has very useful, simple tips that can be followed easily.
I like that it has tips for each social network where content related to books is usually seen, and that it recommends that we don't have to be in all of them, but in those where we feel most comfortable. I think that advice is super important.
You can even access more information by visiting the links found in the document.
I think that while this is geared towards NetGalley reviews (which it's super cool for them to do), I think it can be used for any other type of review.
Thanks Netgalley!
