This is a great tool for NetGalley reviewers. Especially appreciated the specific thoughts about how to use social media to grow the exposure for my reviews. I'm off to set up my StephReads Facebook account. Definitely will be helpful to people who are new to NetGalley as well as experienced reviewers.
Whether you are newbie or need a reminder, this toolkit will inspire and guide you for future reviews. These are very helpful and I wish I had read it sooner. Thank you.
NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit was the first item I've read on Netgalley. I signed up some time ago but was a bit overwhelmed to get started to take my reviewing to the next level.
Last year I started to read books again and found out it was a lot of fun to write reviews of the books I read. I changed my social media more and more towards bookish accounts. I also started a Goodreads and Hebban-account to write longer reviews, because I started recieving reviewcopies from publishers and authors. A fellow-bookstagrammer pointed Netgalley to me so here I am, but where to start?
NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit is very helpful. In compact blocks several social media and review options are explained, along with tips, do's and don'ts. I even found the golden tip for me, to start using Canva to up my game on Instagram, Tiktok etc. It's essential to complete your profile and make good content on the bookish sites and your socials, so you can get approved for reading here on NetGalley. I'm just starting, but i am very happy to have read this Toolkit. The pointers are very handy and I'm sure I'll be back to check them again once I have made another babystep towards my goal: Read and review new great books in advance! Thank you We are Bookish, for this wonderful NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit. The tips are very helpful.
This guide was really helpful as I am newer to sharing book reviews. There were a lot of useful tips and information that I have already started to put into practice.
This guide was extremely helpful and I would recommend it to anyone doing on-line reviews whether pre-pub or purchased.
Very helpful information! I expect I'll review and refer to it frequently as I get used to the Netgalley platform.
If you're new to Netgalley, or even if you're not, and you're wondering how to make your profile even better? This is the perfect resource. It gives key details whilst not being an overwhelming textbook like structure. Definitely give this a read first!
NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit is a great refresher and gave me a few ideas and approaches I hadn't considered. I recommend all newbies and veterans review the toolkit and keep it handy for reference. If you're stuck on a challenging review it could help you jump start your thought process.

A short but sweet guide to everything members on NetGalley need to know about reviewing. The Toolkit covers tips on writing book reviews, where to share on social media, and a bit of strategy advice. Readers looking through the ideas also have the option to click links that will take them to further tips on the We Are Bookish blog. Whether you are just beginning to use NetGalley and need help in deciding which member type to choose, or you have been part of the community for a while and are looking for ways to up your game - this helpful guide is just right for you.
Very useful guide to getting started with NetGalley, also helpful to those who need a refresher or just a little more direction. I actually wish it was longer.
I just made new account on Netgalley.
It's a great guide and very helpful to strengthen the Netgalley profile.
Useful document for beginners, that I wish I had when I started on NetGalley with great eye-opening tips for reviewers, especially as I am still trying to recover from my initial request spree! Attractive to the eye, this is a super introduction to NetGalley and being a book influencer in general.
I really enjoyed reading through this toolkit! I felt it was very informative and answered all of the questions I may have about how to succeed within not only NetGalley itself, but also with my Bookstagram. This NetGalley Toolkit, gives easy to follow steps on how to get started with NetGalley, breaks down helpful ways to write a review for each type of media platform, and finishes with strategies that will benefit your media accounts. Most of those platforms shown, did not apply to me, but that does not mean it would not be useful to other reviewers. I am a very visual person, so the layout of this toolkit was great for me. It was not just a bunch of text to read through, there were different colors and graphics that made going through the toolkit fun and easy. This is something I would recommend to anyone who is involved with any type of bookish social media.
This guide was extremely helpful! As a relatively new member of NetGalley I am still working to read and review books in an efficient manner. I especially liked the organization tips, the photography tips, and suggestions for hashtags. I will be referring to this guide often!
Loved this! This was so informative and so helpful! I'm still pretty new to Netgalley so I really enjoyed reading through this! I really liked the thorough steps and the explanations of everything. As well as the do's and don'ts of what to do. Thank you for making this and for making this available to everyone!
Thank you to Netgalley for sending me this for my honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and We Are Bookish for the opportunity to read a DRC of this kit for an honest review. (Publish Date: March 8, 2022)
I discovered “NetGalley’s Book Advocate Toolkit” by We Are Bookish at just the right time! As a life-long book lover, I have been a member of NetGalley for quite some time and was looking for a way to take my book advocacy up to the next level.
The Book Advocate Toolkit had everything I was expecting and more! I had been playing with the idea of starting up a book blog and actively joining the BookTwitter community, but I wasn’t sure how to get started without feeling overwhelmed. This toolkit had such helpful information and tips that I now feel comfortable moving forward with both! For newbies, the First Steps list is critical for setting yourself up for a successful membership. Avoiding a request spree is my top piece of advice for anyone thinking about joining NetGalley, because it’s so easy to request any book that sparks your interest.
My only complaint about the toolkit was the embedded links didn’t work when viewing the digital version via the NetGalley Shelf App. Maybe using a different method would have fixed this problem, but I didn’t have any success and felt a bit let down that I couldn’t access the additional information that could have been useful for me.
Overall, I would highly recommend this toolkit to anyone interested in helping buildup, support, and spread the word on new books. Whether new to NetGalley or a longtime member, anyone can be inspired and benefit from reading through this kit!
This toolkit is a very pleasant, easy intro into NetGalley, book reviewing, and social meeting tips. It has cute images and helpful tidbits on information to get started.
The NetGalley Book Advocate Toolkit is an incredibly useful guide for the NetGalley newbie and expert alike. I found the tips on writing book reviews and on use of different social media platforms particularly useful. I appreciated the links included to further information on many of the topics.
One thing I did wish had been included was a little more information on navigating the NetGalley website. Its simple enough once you have the hang of it, but can be a bit confusing when you first sign up. A fun thing to include in future editions of the Toolkit would be User Tips from long-term NetGalley users.
The Toolkit is definitely something I'll keep on (virtual!) file to refer to again and again.
A great resource for NetGalley beginners! I have been using NetGalley for over a year now, so I didn't find that I found it especially life changing, but I definitely loved all their helpful tips--having this resource will certainly be helpful in the future if I ever have reviewer's block!
