Thank you NetGalley for this Toolkit!
This guide is perfect if you're like me: a total newbie to this platform. It will help you through everything you probably didn't understand within the first few hours of use. I'm definitely keeping this near me for my first book review!

This was such an insightful guide for a NetGalley newcomer! I was intrigued by the tips for building a social media brand and especially appreciated the section on accessibility. I'll be sure to return to this book in the future!

I'm really happy with "NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit". It's such a quick read and yet so clear and informative. It covers steps you can take to get approved for more of the books you request--It's not just feedback ratio! But feedback ratio is important and this book cautioned me against a request spree just before I was about to do one (witness the many tabs I had open for books that interested me). It also breaks down the important parts of a netgalley-style book review. It also explains how to avoid turning a critical review into a rant and how to make it useful to readers, publishers, and authors. It covers what to focus on in an audio book review. It also describes several blog review formats which I found useful because I'm thinking of starting a blog. And it has active links in each of these sections that take you to more information if you want more tips. Recommended.

Very helpful and informative! I only wish they had a list and guide of the different badges but still a good resource for how to grow a netgalley account.

NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit is so informative; it discusses all the platforms reviewers can post reviews and gives loads of examples. This was really valuable to me, since I'm still quite new to this

This was a great resource guide, especially for someone like myself who relies on my Bookstagram account to share books that I read and personal insights! The tips for content planning and IG posts were super helpful!

This is a great overview of how to review and various social media platforms to use for spreading your reviews and book thoughts. Definitely recommend look through this toolkit. My only disappointment was it narrow view of reading tracking sites as it only mentioned Goodreads. I have long hoped for the inclusion of more independent sites such as Storygraph which not only allows you to track and review in much the same way but also has additional features such as buddy reading which can help spread the word by including other in your reading journey. I hope as this toolkit is regularly updated that additional platforms will be included in future.

This little info booklet was put out by the NetGalley team to help Reviews and others use the site more efficiently. If something like this had been around back when I joined the site in 2017; maybe, I wouldn’t be playing catch up with all of my Arc’s the way that I am now. What can I say… I get request happy real quick.
This booklet didn’t have any new info for me but I do like how it compiles a whole bunch of really useful reviewing tips and resources into one easy-to-remember place. All of the illustrations and colors fit into NetGalley’s easily recognizable theming, so it is comforting and easy to comprehend.
The guide takes you through how to write a review, the different types of reviewers, as well as all of the different types of Bookish Social Media.
I wish that NetGalley would put out more guides like this like for blogging tips and others areas that could be applicable to the site. Because it’s kind of sad to think of this being the only guide of its kind. It does a great job of breaking down the whole blogging ecosystem, so it doesn’t seem as daunting as it was to me when I first started.
Some of the tips that I enjoyed the most were the parts where they talked about having a solid starting ground before hitting publish (something I didn’t do) meaning knowing your blogging voice and having a logo and schedule (and maybe even a few posts…) all planned out. And also how they talked about tagging the publisher and NetGalley and not necessarily the author (unless you loved the book…).
I would recommend this guide to anyone who uses NetGalley or anyone looking to get into reviewing period there were some good tips. Thanks again to NetGalley for providing this book for review; and I hope that I can use some of these tips and tricks to strengthen my blogging skills in the future.
