As a new NetGalley member and reviewer this Tool Kit is filled with information that has helped me to focus on the most important areas of getting started. The best sections have to do with Social Media. I am now able to create more professional and eye pleasing Instagram posts and I now understand the positive use of hashtags better. I found “Requesting Books 101”, “Feedback Ratio” and “How to Write…” extra helpful as well. This Tool Kit is easy to come back to as a reference. We Are Bookish honed in on all the pertinent areas and has created a nice resource for use.

A nice resource with useful pointers - good to keep as a reference, especially if you haven't done much reviewing. Should be a first book for all reviewers!

A very useful toolkit, indeed. Well laid-out and visually appealing; extra information is linked on each page if you want to go deeper into the topic, without overwhelming the page. Highly recommended for new NetGalley reviewers, or as a refresher for old hands, or help if you are experiencing too many publisher rejections.

NetGalley’s Book Advocate Toolkit is a great resource for anyone using NetGalley to receive advance copies of books to read and review.

I read this before starting my NetGalley journey and found it the zoomed out approach helpful and informative. It is great to have one spot to refer back to when I am unsure of something or have questions. I particularly liked the illustrate style of the toolkit because it kept me engaged the entire time.

There were a couple of things I did wish were slightly different about the toolkit. The toolkit because it had a broad focus had a lot of information that did not pertain to me, and I found it to be slightly overwhelming. It could be useful to have multiple smaller and slightly more focused pamphlets. I also found some missing information that I would have like to be included in the toolkit like some general UI navigation and more specific how to’s.

All in all, I found this to be a very useful tool, and my cons are about wanting more, which I think shows how well it currently is working.
