Great guide with tip and tricks to make the most of your book reviewing experience. This guide gives helpful advice for all types of reviewers, whether you want to focus on a particular format or are looking for guidance in how to format your reviews. I would suggest anyone reading this before starting your NetGalley journey.

This was a helpful resource, especially when it discussed different review tips. I wish I'd found this book at the very start of my NetGalley journey, but better late than never, right? If you are just starting on here and haven't read it yet, I highly recommend looking through it before making any requests!

I appreciated how detailed it was when discussing different review formats, as well as how it broke down what each type was, how to achieve that specific style, and how readers might react to each one. It was also neat that they provided a content planning section to help people get started on their content creation journey. It was also refreshing to see that they emphasized enjoying what you produce instead of just focusing on what's performing well. Always a great tip to keep in mind when dealing with social media.

The hashtag tips were also insightful, and I hadn't heard most of them before reading this. I will say that some of the font throughout the toolkit was hard to read...I knew what they were trying to write, but it was still difficult to see. This was particularly true on the hashtag tips pages: "Twitter Tips" "Booktok Tips."

It was also neat that the toolkit broke down each popular social media channel and gave descriptions for each one. This will help people just starting out to easily determine what niche they want to be apart of if they haven't already decided before joining NetGalley.

This is a basic but handy guide on using NetGalley, writing reviews, and publicizing books. I wish the links had been set to open in a new tab—the PDF is difficult to use in a browser, and I couldn’t get the links to work at all in the Kindle app. Also, I wish the guide had included more tips on building audience engagement. Overall, the guide is good for beginners but of limited use for more advanced users.

I found this extremely helpful for someone who is constantly trying to improve their NetGalley profile like myself and get the most out of their account. There are countless tips not only for NetGalley, but also other social media/review sites. The layout is clear, concise, and pleasing to read. I am very thankful for this document!

I have been on Netgalley for a little over a year and this was a good reminder of what I should and should not do. The first was update your profile occasionally, which I had not done and when I read what I wrote, it was in desperate need of an update. I also updated my genres, as one of them, I have decided I am not a fan of. I am what succinct reviewer, so it was helpful to read the tips for that. I created a template to use for all my future reviews, from this guide. I downloaded this to my computer, so that I can refer to it often. It is very helpful to remind you that you are here to help the publishers and author's with their books.

This toolkit is helpful for those beginning to document their book reviews and those established in creating reviews per completed book. I highly recommend this as well as check out Netgalley’s instagram for more insight into book reviewing.

This book provided really good starting points for anyone who is new to NetGalley. There was a lot of tips and tools for the reader to at least be able to establish themselves as a reviewer, as well as multiple links one could follow to gain more insight on a particular topic. I found this very helpful as a new NetGalley user.

I've been reading/reviewing for 6 years on NetGalley, and I already knew something about it before that. Honestly, I figured this would be more for newbies, but I was proven wrong. There are a lot of really useful tools in this kit, and I'll be coming back to it a lot, and not just for reviewing on NetGalley. I wish something like this had been around when I first started. There are even lots of handy links where you can find even more information. Even after so many years reviewing, I was resistant to YouTube and TikTok, but there's information about those too. This is seriously one of the best resources I've seen for book reviewers, and I think every new reviewer should have it.

These are all great suggestions. I will start with my first two social reading networks to share my reviews, which are Goodreads and Amazon, and then work on building the other networks over time. Thanks for sharing it.

Many thanks to NetGalley and We Are Bookish for receiving NetGalley’s Book Advocate Toolkit for free in exchange for an honest review. My thoughts and opinions are 100% my own and independent of receiving a free copy.

Anyone new to NetGalley can find it overwhelming. Make sure you post your reviews - not too early not too late! Don’t let your feedback ratio fall below 80%! There are a million questions people have like how to get approved by a publisher, or even how come I am being declined. There are places to go like the NetGalley help pages, blog pages and even groups on Goodreads that can be a resource, however, NetGalley has decided to publish a booklet that can give you all your answers in one place.

There are several key things that can help your NetGalley journey. The first is and most important is probably your profile. What should you include, what should you leave out. This is the first thing that publishers will look at when trying to decide to grant your request. The toolkit will explain everything you need to know. I’m sure this was created with newbies in mind, but even the more experienced reviewer can learn a few things from this toolkit.

It includes how to write a good book review, where to publish your reviews including platforms like Bookstagram, Booktube and Booktok. The last three are newer platforms that have gained a lot of traction in the last few years. I’ve even read comments by people who don’t even bother with a blog anymore, they just focus on publishing on Bookstagram or Booktok. And yes, they get approved for books all the time.

The toolkit gives a variety of examples of different types of blog reviews which can help expand those of us who write the more traditional style of review. Of course there are general tips, more of a dos and don’t section. One great tip that is very important, don’t tag the author, tag the publisher! There are great organizational ideas for posting as well as #hashtag guidelines.

All in all a very useful guide if you want to up your game with NetGalley. Whether you are starting out, or wanting to step it up a notch, this toolkit is full of great ideas. Free from NetGalley you can use it as a reference guide so what’s not to love!
