Extraordinarily helpful NetGalley guide that is helpful for all platforms. Easy to read and follow with tasteful graphics. The PDF includes extra links for more information from previous blog post from NetGalley. I found the section of how to write a review the most helpful because it was concise and helped with reviewers block, my arch nemesis! The guide also gives good advice on what platforms to use to help spread your reviews. There was an inclusion of what type of programs you may need and individual platform advice that was helpful and did not feel like they were trying to feed me to certain sites.
This guide is perfect for anybody who wants to, or currently is, reviewing books! The guide is universally helpful and had many extra resources that were easily accessible. I plan to review this guide again to help me continue to improve my review.
I had the pleasure of reading NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit to help me with my book reviews. It was super easy to follow, had a bunch of fantastic tips, with step-by-step instructions and examples. I thought this was a great guide and definitely recommend it to anyone that is looking to get a few tips for writing better reviews.
This is so helpful!! I have been writing reviews for years and yet I’m still trying to perfect the craft. Thanks for this resource!
I found this book to be very useful. It was concise and to the point, with very hands on tips and content that can be used immediately in one's endeavor the promote book reviews.
I especially like the book reviews section, particularly the how to on audiobook reviews and how to deal with reviewer's block.
I liked the do's and don't section and followed several of the addition tip links. I completely agree that this tool kit is great for book lovers who've been writing reviews for a long time or first timers.

“NetGalley’s Book Advocate Toolkit” is a simple guide explaining NetGalley and reviewing books. It’s easy for beginners to understand. Even though people can do their research, this guide has almost everything in one place. It’s an excellent place to start learning what you should do. Then, once there is something that you want to go in-depth with, you can research from there to expand your knowledge. I wished I had “NetGalley’s Book Advocate Toolkit” in the beginning because it’s a good reference to start with. The only thing I wished it expanded on was how to write your NetGalley bio. I’m always uncertain about what to put in my bio and would want more help with that.
This was a super helpful, very organized, quick-guide to all things NetGalley. Also, it was very informative in how to start your own booktube, bookstagram, booktok, etc. There were many more tips in here than just the guide to NetGalley.
I highly recommend reading over this if you’re interested in starting a bookblog of some sort, requesting advanced copies, or even giving it a read if you’ve been in the game for a while. There were more tips than just what might apply to someone newly getting into reviewing & requesting.
Pick up this super short (31 pages) guide on all things book review & request!
I found this to be interesting and very helpful. Suggestions of some good Dos and Donts as well as valuable advise. This is an excellent reference for those who enjoy reading advance review copies of books and writing reviews.
A really useful guide to getting started with Netgalley and tips for reviews. There also advice on the types of reviews to do for sifferent platforms. I will definitely be referring back to this for my next reviews.
A great resource for anyone leaving reviews on NetGalley. I learned so much. I love to read and have been leaving reviews for many years. I am not a blogger but this great tool book has so many hints on how to use social media and blogging that if I ever want to start I have a great resource for that. Thank you, NetGalley for this well-rounded, very useful toolkit.
This was a really nice and helpful resource, it's given me some incredible information and tips on how to get started on NetGalley, I'm new to this so it really helped me get started! Will definitely be coming back to this in the future!
This was an incredibly helpful source and something I wish I had when I first joined Netgalley. It had information that I had learned from some trial and error, but a lot of information I didn't know yet. I'll continuing be coming back to reference this material to help build up my reputation and social media platforms.
This was a really helpful guide to getting started with Netgalley. I especially liked how focused it was on blogs/social media. The Do's & Dont's for multiple platforms, how to interact with publishers, how to watch/manage your feedback ratio, and the tag/hashtag info will help newbies jump in to book reviewing with confidence.
A must read for starter book reviewers on NetGalley. The design is very well thought out, and it reads like a how-to-guide, but one that is actually helpful. The most important things to take away are 1: don't go on a requesting spree, only request books you are interested in, 2: update your profile every couple months. 3: write a review that engages readers. This book also includes tips and tricks for posting and promoting books on social media, whether that be on booktube or instagram or another platform altogether. I cannot wait to get started on Netgalley! I especially liked the "do's and don'ts" of reviewing. Personally, I have a very niche target audience, and create graphics that go along with my reviews. My reviews are not your typical, standard, run-of-the-mill. I relate books to meals, which makes me develop not only as a writer but as a reader, too. This handy guide helps me determine where my reviews will be best placed and how to grow as a reviewer.
This short ebook of information provided tons of tips and tricks on where to start on your NetGalley journey. I found bits and pieces I wouldn't have previously considered and loved how it was up to date with all social media trends such as booktok and bookstagram. Reviewing books is so much more than it used to be so sharing techniques across multiple platforms was really helpful.
I'd recommend this to anyone interested in reviewing books or audiobooks
Great overview of how to use Netgalley, write reviews and make the most of social media. Can’t wait to improve my reviews and Bookstagram posts. Thank you!
It was easy to read. Had great information. I found it to be very informative. Great help. Some information I had no idea it even existed. Great idea.
Excellent, practical advice that sets a reader with Net Galley up for success! A concise and yet information packed read makes it well worth anyone's time
This is a handy toolkit for anyone wanting to increase his or her online book promotion. Although it contains many suggestions and is helpful overall, it seems to assume a familiarity with social media platforms greater than I possess. Much of that is due to age, I'm sure. For example, I'm not an Instagram user and could benefit from more basic instructions. Of course, I could ask my grandkids!
These are especially helpful tips for freshening up reviews if you've gotten stuck in a rut. We are Bookish consolidates many of their online tips into one useful volume. As an older reviewer, I particularly appreciated the sections on Bookstagram, Booktube, and Booktok. It has broadened my ability to get my reviews more visibility. Its graphics are easy to read and follow. I really enjoyed it.
Very useful toolkit! Thank you! Even though I have been reviewing for awhile, I learned several new things. I will definitely recommend this to other reviewers.
