NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit is a very quick read, but one that packs a big punch. It is little, but mighty - just like dynamite!

I've been back into reading for about a year now, and decided to take the plunge into Bookstagram last June; I've been slowly building a following, gaining skills and ideas along the way. After finding out about NetGalley, I requested a few books and wondered why I wasn't getting many approvals. This short information guide helped me learn a few things that will help up my chances at getting approved by publishers.

Lately, I've found myself in a bit of an inspiration slump on Bookstagram, and even though this guide was not intended as such, I found myself taking notes of post ideas. I found motivation for my social media platform, even though the ideas were actually geared towards other platforms.

"Toolkit" is in this book title, but I'd suggest adding the information contained inside it to your toolkit!

This is a great Toolkit to help reviewers, especially newbies, like me. I've read and followed blogs, BookTok, Bookstagram and Booktube, but I haven't heard of Booktwitter. Now, I have another platform to check out!
Thanks to "We are Bookish" for the education and great advice.

This was a concise guide that provided helpful tips when first starting out on Netgalley. I first heard about this site though TikTok and thought it was a neat platform but didn't have all the answers to the questions I developed as I was forming my account. This allowed me to find quick answers and came with helpful graphics that made it easy to follow. I will continue to reference this guide as I continue my journey in writing book reviews and hope to continue to improve with this.

Good review of Netgalley as well how to get the most out of it and how to be more successful at getting books approved. I liked how all the tips are succinct and easy to follow. Great guide!

This is a very useful guide. I am a new reviewer and I need to learn a lot. The friendly tone of this guide — along with the definitions of terms, explanations of different platforms, and general helpful information — make expanding my reviewing world seem possible. In future versions of this guide, it would be nice if the ‘further information’ links worked. The fun graphic format is sometimes distracting to me. Oh, and that good tip “Avoid the request spree” needs to be in a larger box and a much larger font! Thanks for providing this guide.

I think the NetGalley Bookish Toolkit is a great jumping off point for those new to the world of book reviewing, but also a great reminder for those of us that have been doing this for a while! There are lots of tips and tricks from how to write reviews, social media do’s and dont’s, accessibility reminders, and more.

The only change I would make is that (in the PDF format at least) the links on pages to click for more info should lead to opening new pages instead of changing the current page. Some of those articles would be great bookmarks and it was tempting to go down rabbit holes, but I needed to navigate back to the toolkit. It would just be more user friendly if it opened new pages.

Like I said- I think this is great advice for anyone that is wanting to start reviewing books, or anyone that wants to try something different and freshen up their techniques.

**Many thanks to NetGalley for allowing me to read and have input on this DRC! My opinions are my own.**

This is quite a useful if basic guide to using Netgalley. Some of the points on how to write reviews were really helpful. I'm always happy to get more advice on writing book reviews that people will find helpful, especially those always tricky critical reviews.

There are many helpful ideas in this toolkit!

I found most helpful the tips on writing book reviews, the guidelines on feedback ratio, fine-tuning one’s profile, and posting on social media!

I also found helpful the tips for using Canva, the photo and hashtag ideas, and the referral to NetGalley’s blog, We Are Bookish.

Thank you NetGalley for this awesome resource!

Thank you, NetGalley for this booklet in exchange for a review.

I have been reviewing books on Instagram for almost 5 years, I have been writing reviews on my blog for almost 4 years. Recently I have had some reviewers block reading books for review and writing good solid reviews. This little booklet gave me more ideas and more details about using NetGalley.

I loved the section about TikTok and Youtube for beginners because I have been looking at starting on both platforms recently and the beginner info will really help when I start making more videos on these platforms.

This booklet is perfect for beginners to NetGalley and the Bookish community. I loved the extra links throughout the booklet and the ideas and creative thinking the booklet encouraged. I wish this would have been around when I started Bookstagramming.

Side Note: The Section on Accessibility was such a good resource and even though I know that already it is so useful for new book reviewers!

This is a useful guide for reviewing books on social media. I mostly bookstagram, so that's the section that I read the most carefully. I appreciated the tips about accessibility and providing alt text for all images.

I love that one of the tips is "avoid the request spree." I'm definitely guilty of that one! It's so hard not to ask for all of the books. But this was a great guide full of great tips. I especially appreciated the idea of budgeting my reading so that I can stay on track with timely reviews.

I will admit that I did not read this before my first three reviews, and I definitely should have! I didn't think to read the publisher emails and while I thanked NetGalley in the reviews, I failed to thank the publishers. I will go back and fix those mistakes right away.

Thank you, NetGalley, for the tips and for the chance to do what I love to do: read awesome books and share my thoughts about them.
