Brief, but excellent, guidebook for setting up your NetGalley account, requesting books, writing reviews, and social networking. I wish I’d read the book years ago, when I first got started on NetGalley. The advice to avoid requesting sprees is something I really need to try to follow. A must-read for anyone wanting to maximize their book reviewing experience. #BookAdvocateToolkit #NetGalley
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
This was a short book about how to improve your book reviews and how to get more arcs approved. It had good tips and was everything I hoped for. Definitely helpful if you want to improve your profile.
This was really helpful and I learned a couple new tips about using Netgalley and social media engagement that I'm going to use in the future.
Wow. I wish I had this when I first got a netgalley account. I really appreciated all the tips and tricks. I was surprised and excited to see that they included an entire page about accessibility. Too often book reviews neglect inclusivity for disabled people.
This is NetGalley's best kept secret! It provided way more information than I was expecting. It was easy to read, well laid out, and I could easily get the information I was looking for. Even though I've been on NetGalley for a few years now, I have struggled with managing the reviews I want to write and getting the books read on time. My favorite page was the "Blog Review Formats" because it highlighted the different types of reviews you can write. Overall this ebook showed me that I can be a book advocate in different ways, and that doesn't have to look like a five paragraph review for every book. I'm feeling glad to realize that I've been overthinking things a bit, and to have learned ways that I can take other parts of being a book advocate more seriously. I also loved the introduction to the different platforms and the ideas for great graphics!
Very helpful hints and tips simplified enough to understand especially for readers/reviewers who are new to Netgalley.
Great resource for someone (like me) who is just starting out in the bookstagram world and wants to learn how to not only gain access to more books, and reach more people, but also how to connect with your audience. This is VERY succinct, but has some great tips that people who have been doing this a while may no longer think about.
Thank you to We Are Bookish for putting together this comprehensive guide to book reviewing! I have been running bookstagram social media pages for just over a year now and am still trying to figure out how to optimize these platforms. This guide was extremely helpful with it's bitesized tips and tricks for book reviewing/creating bookish content across all popular platforms. I found it to be especially encouraging as it seemed to stressed that while it is important to treat book reviewing via Net Galley seriously, it is also meant to be fun!
I was so glad to get this guide. It is just the perfect length and is presented well. The visual aspect makes it very readable and easy to comprehend. . As a long time NetGalley reviewer, I am always happy to get new tips and tricks about what I am doing. I am so grateful to be a part of Net Galley, so thank you for this important resource.
Great tips on all aspects of the NetGalley. Wondering how to write a good review or where to post it? This Toolkit has the answers. Helpful for newbies and more experienced NetGalley user alike.
For someone who wasn’t exactly sure what NetGalley was coming into it, this tool kit was perfect for the NetGalley beginner. NetGalley provided information in a succinct and professional manner, while still being easy to understand. The tool kit provided a variety of resources for NetGalley members, including links to We Are Bookish articles, explanations on how to review books, and tips for posting on different platforms. Overall, NetGalley’s Book Advocate ToolKit was 5/5 stars.
Thank you to NetGalley and We Are Bookish for a DRC in exchange for my honest review.
A good guide to becoming a book reviewer! Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with the DRC. It proved to be very helpful.
Absolutely fantastic resource to use to help with your netgalley profile/reviews.
Definitely recommend using! ,
Some useful advice, things I hadn’t thought about before. All in a neat little format! Thanks for making this.
A useful guide to improve your skills as a reviewer that also offers some tips to use all kind of social media. It's also a short guide, something that I thank for.
I downloaded the NetGalley’s Book Advocate Tool Kit looking for ways to improve reviews and to learn avenues for promoting reviews. I found the information in the Tool Kit extremely helpful for this long time reviewer. I especially appreciated the section on writing with reviewer’s block which is helpful when I read a book difficult to review.
The information regarding social media posts was informative and provided ideas differing to my own ideas of what to post.
The General Dos and Donts was pertinent information for me and very helpful in avoiding mistakes. I loved the Hashtags Tips as I was completely lost when it comes to hashtags and now have the details on what they are and how to use them.
The only irritating thing was that the links for further information were disabled. I would have liked to be able to go to the links.
It is my belief that this informative book would benefit anyone either just starting out writing reviews or longer term reviewers who can always use a refresher course. And I am sure there are people, like me, who are in the dark about some of the media marketing tools.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
An excellent guide for helping new reviewers learn the ropes.
I recommend that all new reviewers read this helpful, instructive guide.
An altogether great toolkit — especially for new users or those looking to expand their reach on social media. The graphics are great — fun without being silly. I'd definitely recommend any NetGalley user — newbies to old hands — take a peek at this.
This was a really helpful and informative look at book blogging. I strongly recommend that every book blogger and book reviewer read this
Thank you to NetGalley for the e-arc!
This tool kit was very informative in what this platform is looking for, indicating the do's and don'ts. Being new to this, having this resource I really liked how it gave specifics on content for such social media sites. It really helped me focus on what I want to make, share what I've been reading as well as reviewing them. If you're new to NetGalley you should check this out!
