If you're new to reviewing books or just looking for some useful tips, this book is for you. It's full of goodies for all types of accounts(Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, etc).
I really loved the colors in this book. The tips are arranged in a fun way that kept me reading. It's also has links to get more information as well, which is super helpful. It's definitely a useful tool for book reviewers of all kinds.
This is a good summary for new people and contained a lot of useful information. The most useful aspect of this book is that it included descriptions of the different social media, as well as Canva, that can be used to provide information to others about the books read and all the links to additional articles and resources within NetGalley’s website. Note that the toolkit recommends their own NetGalley app; I used both their app and the PDF download and found the download much easier to read. In NetGalley the format of this book jumped around awkwardly as I tried to move between the pages; whereas, in Adobe, the document could be read from page to page easily. Hopefully they will be updating the app to be more user-friendly in the future. While basic information is provided, the toolkit can definitely serve as a reference for later as well.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing this toolkit. It is a simple but useful guide covering lots of information that I have found useful as someone new to NetGalley. For example, knowing my reviews must state that I received a copy of the book from NetGalley/the publisher, and not to use quotes from advanced copies as they might not be finalised.
At points, I find it is a little too brief and it could contain more of an explanation. One example is that under 'First Steps,' it advises to 'check approval preferences' for publishers, but it took me a while to find out where on the website I could actually find this information.
As a disabled reader, I absolutely love that accessibility information is included in the guide - with reminders to write hashtags more accessibly in CamelCase and to caption videos.
A quick read guide to getting started with Netgalley (or giving better reviews)! Packed full of advice for all social media accounts.
I did find that there are a lot of "click here" links throughout that aren't actually enabled....at least not for the Netgalley Shelf app.
Overall there does seem to be a lot of emphasis on BookTube (which I've been toying with the idea of starting) but all platforms are touched upon to give readers and reviewers tons of tips! I'll for sure be referring back to this guide often in the upcoming weeks as I work to revamp my existing social media and possibly join the other platforms!
This was so informative and helpful. I'm very happy this was made available to help people right good and honest book reviews ad well as grow as reviewers.
Really informative and helpful, I struggle to know how to write book reviews sometimes so having the reviewer's block resources is such a great addition for me
Thank you so much for this toolkit filled with such helpful information! I can absolutely see myself going back to this over and over as a reference!
Not a book review, but a thank you to NetGalley for this Toolkit.
I have been using Netgalley for few years, and I know I am guilty of requesting too many books, and not having the time to actually read them.
What I especially liked is the information on how to take your book reviews further using platforms like Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
I also appreciated the tip on superimposing book covers on ereaders for posts. i have never thought to post when I have been approved to read something, I generally only post after, for the reason that the PDF on my iPad is not a very inspiring image...That will change now.
Lots of tips that I am trying to use in my reviewing of NetGalley books. Great advice on things that I should be doing, as well as things I should not be doing. Thank you to NetGalley and We Are Bookish for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you Netgalley for creating this toolkit. I enjoy writing book reviews but was looking to expand across different platforms and this guide was super helpful. I can’t wait to utilize some of the tips included. This book will be very helpful for new reviewers trying to get started or as a refresher for seasoned pros.
Netgalley's Book Advocate Toolkit really gave higher order help to me as a reviewer. I have struggled with clarity in reviews, bookstagramming, and requesting. So far I have set up a recurring reminder in my calender to both update my profile quarterly and check my reviews monthly. Super helpful! I'm also working on developing my own personal style of reviews emphasizing my background as a psychologist and medical educator.
I couldn't find the weekly email checklist link so maybe that could be clearer--I did read this pretty fast though and may have missed it!
Thanks Netgalley for preparing this Toolkit. I will be referring back to it often!
A useful fun guide to reviewing books on Netgalley. Useful for existing users as well as newcomers. This guide gives useful tips and different ways and options to review books.
This was beneficial in getting me started with sharing my reviews on different platforms. If possible, it would be interesting to explore review priorities for different genres in future editions. If, for example, fantasy and sci-publishers look for specific reader appeals separate from what a romance publisher would see.
This is a super helpful guide to getting started as a member of NetGalley! Definitely recommend reading through this for all kinds of helpful hints from We Are Bookish. TheBook Advocate ToolKit is full of tips and tricks to grow your following and explore new opportunities as a book lover!
A helpful guide to help those who are new to reviewing on NetGalley, but also a good reminder for those with a bit more experience.
A handy guide with some tips and tricks - helpful both for newbies and for more experienced reviewers as a reminder.
This book was very helpful! I am new to NetGalley and it have me some useful tips on getting started! Thank you! for helping me learn how to navigate this new world! It has been life changing and has helped me make great recommendations to my friends!
A great reference tool for those who are just getting started with NetGalley! It was simple and effective with great visuals.
This was a great toolkit for new people to NetGalley. I did feel that something was missing. I wanted more on how to write a good book review for the people that use NetGalley to choose their books.
