I found this toolkit guide for NetGalley users useful and visually well presented. There is such an abundance of information out there on using social platforms that concise documents, highlighting key things to consider, are always welcome. While I was already familiar with some of the information provided, this document is a great refresher. I was reminded about useful tips I had forgotten about and also picked up completely new tips. The fact that several links are included, so you can read further on particular areas of interest, is great and really increases the benefits gained by reading the toolkit. Well worth the read, thank you!

I’ve been looking to improve my reviews for NetGalley. I have done my profile and think this is actually my 200th review. Amazing! This guide provided me with those extra tips I was really looking for. This is what was most helpful to me:
1. Focus and Gain the Readers Attention Early. Then describe your points and finish with a summary.
2. Don’t use too many emojis. This does seem obvious, but I know I have written reviews that I thought were quite clever using lots of emojis to explain the book. It is not helpful.
3. Don’t use special fonts, bold, italic, or underline. This takes away from the publisher reading the review. That I did not realize.

Keep updating your bio. This I have been unsure about how much information to give. The book gave tips about this and even better additional NetGalley links.

A wonderful piece of information all about how to start publicising your netgalley new books you've received or book reviews. Great colour schemes and easy to understand. It should be available to every new reviewer who begins with netgalley

Even if you have been using Netgalley for sometime it is well worth reading this. A perfect reminder on Do's and Don't's when using and writing reviews. Also, a gentle reminder of the book requesting spree which I'm sure we have all been guilty of at some time.
Shows a very informative way of how to spread the word when reviewing on different platforms.

Very helpful guide for beginners like me! I will definitely take these tips into consideration.
The use of graphics helped me stay hooked and not skip over most of the text (I could've missed something important). It gives excellent tips not only for the Netgalley platform but also for social media sites such as instagram, TikTok, twitter and YouTube.

This is a good reference for beginners, but there are some symbols that are attached to my reviews that I don't know why their there. For instance there is a paperclip attached to some of my reviews and I don't know why its there. Also, it would be great if there was a diagram that shows exactly how to get a link from reviews on Goodreads from. a iPad. Also, it would be nice to see a diagram on how to share a review to Twitter from my iPad mini because I couldn't find the twitter symbol anywhere after I wrote my review.

A super helpful guide for beginners to get started on NetGalley. It has detailed steps to explore and make use of all the features available on this portal. Not just NetGalley, it has instructions and tips for growth on other platforms as well. It cover almost all mediums available to book reviewers/content creators to grow their bookish channels/account in an authentic way. I found everything helpful for my bookstagram account as well. This guide was really helpful and full great insight, not only for new members on Netgalley, but also for bloggers, and anyone looking to review books on social media. Everything about this toolkit, from content to looks was appealing and well laid out. I’ve been able to refer back to sections, specifically the bookstagram one, if I need help or ideas.

This should be required reading for all book reviewers! So many great tips, ideas for organizing your thoughts for a reviews, platform overviews and a how-to guide to maximize their utilization. Great takeaways here for any kind of reviewer, at any stage of establishing yourself as a trusted book source.

A really engaging introduction to NetGalley for a new user - lots of great tips for how to navigate, add value and get the most from the platform.

This is a fantastic resource, well done NetGalley! This would have been so helpful when I started out on the platform.

A couple of things that came to mind to add:
* pay attention to what each publisher is looking for in a reviewer and make sure you match it
* don’t go for the wildly popular books up front, choose the unusual and debut authors
* don’t give up because you’re rejected
* review books outside of NetGalley as well on social platforms to show your ability

As someone who was a bit overzealous when I created my NetGalley, this was a helpful to get me back on track feedback ratio wise as well as to help grow my skills as a reviewer and bookstagrammer!

Useful tips, but I think this could have been a section on the webpage rather than a PDF.
Some of the information in there is helpful to bear in mind, especially for anyone considering setting up a social media presence for their book reviews.

The struggle I have is if I am denied for a book, it would be nice if more information could be given as to why I was not accepted. The other would be if I did more to my profile, and was declined a book, would there be any way to reapply again?

As a former teen book blogger, I had the pleasure of seeing the book world expand from Blospot to Instagram and TikTok. This guide was super informative and I can’t wait to use the suggestions!
