I had no clue what I was doing when I finally got accepted to read my first NetGalley ARC book. Someone suggested I read NetGalley‘s Book Advocate toolkit. It was very helpful and I did learn quite a few tips from reading this book. I recommend this quick book to anyone who has questions about NetGalley and how to navigate it.
I found this toolkit to be very useful! It certainly doesn't hurt to read it whether you are a beginner or an experienced reviewer.
Very helpful - I’m assuming formal review is not required for this given that it isn’t a book but a guide for using netgalley 5/5
So helpful as a newbie! Thankyou for making this available. It’s given me lots to consider and I know I’ll refer back to it often.
This book is very helpful for any NetGalley member! No matter if you’re just getting started or an avid reader/reviewer. Thank you NetGalley for the great book!
I’ve been reviewing on NetGalley since May 2021. I post to my blog and am most active on instagram. I feel like all of this info is available on the website as well as through common sense - (who’s tagging authors in bad reviews so much it has to be listed repeatedly? Just be a nice human geeze.) I’m already doing all of this from having read NetGalley info, what publishers want, observing other bookstagramers and watching YouTube videos with tips. I choose not to do YouTube or tik tok because I like the anonymity of the other platforms.
I always say there’s a book for every person and a person for every book. 1 star reviews are from people who chose the wrong book for them so I always highlight things some people like to steer clear of and things other people will be into.
This is a nice consolidated intro to NetGalley and book reviewing in accessible info graphic form.
Brilliant guide for new members and seasoned reviewers alike. Easy to read and clear instructions and tips.
Even though I have been on Netgalley for a long time and have a lot of experience with reviewing, I found that this had a lot of good information for all mediums. I would recommend it to anyone that is new to people that have been doing it awhile. You never know, you might learn something new.
Found this helpful in how to structure reviews specifically on NetGalley as I am better accustomed to social media. Great to see a specific page on accessibility also!
The Book Advocate is a must read for any NetGalley reviewier, especially someone that is new or feels like they’re in a review slump. The content was is displayed in an easy to read format. You’ll find lots of tips and resources that will boost your NetGalley and social accounts.
It was really useful for learning how to review and it gave many tips. I also loved how detailed it was, as well as the depth this book got into. I also found that this was a very nice beginner's guide and it gave me lots of skills I plan to use in the future.
This is a really helpful guide to navigating NetGalley and making the most of social media sites to share and promote books. I'm looking forward to trying some of the ideas here and have made note of several suggestions that I'm sure I'll be referring to again and again.
A short and practical guide for NetGalley users. Now I'm going to change my profile after trying to create a blog. :)
This is a very useful guide for newbies on NetGelley. It provides a comprehensive overview of how this works and what readers can do to achieve their reading goals. Can't wait to read more books here!
This was a very comprehensive, helpful and well-written guide. I definitely recommend anyone read it, regardless of how long they have been in the book community. Thank you for the tips and review!
Really handy little guide to posting on here and setting yourself up for success and social media. Included some tips I hadn't even thought of myself. I also appreciate the focus on accessibility, as it often gets overlooked!
Handy little guide. I am sure I will refer back to this again and again. It has some great tips for all manners of reviewing , tips to get you noticed, beat reviewers block and much more. It gave me ideas I had not thought of when reviewing. Good stuff all round
Everything you need to know about NetGalley and book advocacy presented clearly and concisely. Anybody new to NetGalley, like me, should definitely read it.
This manuscript is an introduction to becoming a reviewer for NetGalley. I wish I could have read this from day one, I made the mistake of requesting to many titles in the begining and had no clue that there is ratio that publishers use to decide whether or not I receive their books. I also did not realize that publishers request the reviews to be posted onto my social media. I believe that being a book reviewer will be an ongoing educational endevor, and my long term goal is to improve with each posts.
As a new reviewer at NetGalley, I found this PDF extremely helpful. It broke down the best practices, checklists, and resources for you. This is a printable document that has exercises you can go through to optimize your profile. I appreciate that the graphics were very readable, visually interesting, and overall helpful. I would recommend this book to anyone getting started at NetGalley!
