A very insightful and good quality guide to learning about NetGalley and tips and tricks to help you out at any stage with NetGalley. It has helpful and convenient links that you can check out from the toolkit while reading and websites to go look at. It has tips on how to write reviews, do social media/be engaged with your audience, and how to learn from when you're declined on how to gain approvals from publishers and keep your feedback ratio up. It's chock full of up-to-date and quality information on NetGalley and how to navigate it.
Thanks to NetGalley and We Are Bookish for giving us this great handbook on NetGalley and letting me read and review it. Be sure to download and check it out. It's a great, constant reference to have on hand. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This Book Advocate Toolkit had tons of great information! I've been on NetGalley for over a year and have started getting into BookTok and Bookstagram; there's useful information in here no matter how long you've been on NetGalley or social platforms. Off to go put these tools to use!
NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit takes you on a journey through the NetGalley and suggests to you how to improve your experience as a member.
31 pages long, with artistic layout, it's a simple and quick read, but most importantly it's a teachable manual on how to stay on top of your NetGalley's profile.
After the introduction of the platform, you get to read about book reviews (how to write and promote them), bookish social media (which platform to use, tips on different sites) and how to plan your content long-term.
In my opinion this toolkit should be read by everyone who makes a NetGalley profile. I knew I would benefit from its knowledge a year ago, when I started being a member (at first I didn't even know there was a 'read now' page where you can start reading books immediately and I was requesting book after book 🙊).
I do wish to know more about being approved for a book, I have seen people (with a lot of reviews & 90+ feedback ration) saying they are still being declined. I read somewhere that publisher's don't see the number of your unapproved reads but I was thinking that maybe it has something to do with that.
Overall I do recommend this helpful manual, either if you are a new member or a long one, to learn something or just to review your work.
Clearly divided into easily readable sections this is informative and helpful, particularly for those who are new to the concept of reviewing and providing book reviews.
'A recipe book for reviewers more experienced and beginners alike'.
Thank you to NetGalley for this copy in exchange for an honest review.
This was a very useful tool. My mother and I were just having a conversation about how to better use social media for bookish content, and I am in the process of rebranding my Instagram to be a bookstagram.
In all ways, this will be something helpful to look back on and access when I need advice and tips in my book socials journey.
Thank you NetGalley and We Are Bookish1
I was easy to read and the format and colors made it fun to read as well.
This is amazingggg!!!! I’ve been with NetGalley for two years and I’m ALWAYS ALWAYS looking for ways to improve my bio, my social media presence, and ultimately, my ability to have my requests approved by pubs without having to ask the incredibly publicists directly! Thank you for putting this together! What an incredible set of tools for everyone from brand new arc readers to seasoned bloggers!
I thought I’d check out the toolkit (as someone who has been on NetGalley since 2019) to see if there was anything I could learn. While it was more geared toward new members, I think the refresher is great for members who have been here a long time too!
I really liked how there were tips for starting on each social media platform and tips for writing different types of reviews. It’s a great resource for those just starting out or those who wish to have a refresher on all things NetGalley!
This is incredibly helpful, thank you for making this available! This guide was fun to look at, easy to read, and the suggestions were easy to put in to practice right away.
This toolkit was better than expected!! The layout was eye-catching and easy to navigate. I picked up lots of new tips and learned some things I was not aware of. The toolkit even includes a lot of links so you can further research and get more information on certain topics. I found this toolkit to be super helpful and would recommend it to all Net Galley users, experienced or new!
Thank you Net Galley and We are Bookish for a copy in return for my honest review.
This guide is not only informative, but also cleverly designed to be visually appealing. I wish I had had such a succinct guide for all the myriad topics needed to begin a book blog or Bookstagram when I started doing this!
This was a really clear guide and definitely worth reading for all Net Galley users regardless of your level of experience
Thank you for this kit! I really enjoyed it and learned a lot from it and I think that every new reviewer on NetGalley should read it before starting. It highlights important areas and gives advice on what to do in a clear and colorful format. It also shares some useful tips for social media! I highly recommend this kit for anyone wanting to learn more about book reviewing.
This was such a fast read with so many great tips for maximizing your NetGalley life. Thank you, NetGalley!
Such a great tool to use for Netgalley. I think every new reviewer should look over and read this, The information included in this was great.
A good 'one spot for all basic information' ebook.
This will help those who are starting with Netgalley and book reviews.
Being relatively new to NetGalley this Toolkit was helpful in creating future reviews and has sparked ideas to grow to other platforms other than Goodreaads.
This PDF which gives tips to new reviewers has a great set of do's and don'ts across multiple platforms. Some of the advice (like making sure to add content warnings) might have been overlooked by many reviewers prior to reading this resource. As an English teacher, I also feel the advice it gives about how to review books across different social media platforms could be used for project-based learning, especially for free-choice books.
Succinct information on how to set up your account and tips on navigating through NetGalley.
Most helpful to those just starting NetGalley or venturing into a new social media platform (twitter, instagram, blog, etc.). Provides input on types of reviews that are best suited to each platform.
Well worth the short time it took to read. Thanks NetGalley for this informational toolkit!
This has a great overview with links to more tips and a good starting point. As someone who primarily uses instagram I was hoping for something a little more concrete but alas.
really appreciated the info on accessibility since that is often overlooked!
This is a very informative toolkit. I have been using netgalley for awhile, but found some new tips and tricks.
