Being new to NetGalley, this toolkit was very helpful! I found the tips for posting on different social media platforms to be useful and informative.
As a member of Netgalley for the last six years, I wasn’t sure what I would get out of this guide. I am not a blogger and have no intention of becoming one. But I’m always looking for ways to improve my reviews, so I decided to read this.
The guide will be a huge help for those just starting out. It gives great pointers on setting up a profile, not overreaching on requests and where to post. But I found the tips on writing a review to be very basic (even when I dug down to find more tips).
This will also be a big help for those looking to become a book blogger. It gives info on three different blogging sites (two I had never heard of). It provides names of editing and graphic design apps/websites.
This wasn’t for me, but will be an immense help for others.
This toolkit was a great guide in using my netgalley account. It was easy to read and refer back to and I really enjoyed how it broke down tips for each media type. I learned so many great tips for bookstagram and how I can integrate netgalley in my posts.
I am a newbie on Netgalley and this kit is amazing for me. It helped me to learn the system and how I will improve my profile and get noticed by publishers. All of the tips are so useful, according to those tips I wrote my first feedback.
I believe this will be a great journey for me. Thank you for creating these platform and all of the opportunities.
NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit is a good handbook! I read this because of recommendations from the NetGalley group. Thank you to NetGalley for the DRC.
This book will boost your audience. Having multiple social platforms is a challenge for me. I'm having difficulty managing my time, resulting in abandoning my booktube account. In this handbook, there are a lot of great tips that you can try. This book is a game-changer. It contains an introduction to Netgalley until helping to strategize your social media account. I hope I will gain more exposure after practising all the tips.
This book helps a beginner like me to understand more how Netgalley works. I like it!
I am so glad I was able to read this book because of all of its valuable information. The format makes it easy to read and easy to go back and find information you're looking for. I've been using NetGalley for several years and still found several helpful tips for best utilizing NetGalley itself and for posting reviews to various platforms. The information on getting started on NetGalley would be beneficial to new reviewers.
I learned a lot from the section on social media, including the basics and tips on each platform and how to increase and maintain engagement. It also includes helpful thought-starters for content. The section on Instagram was the most useful to me since I'm fairly new to that platform. I don't plan on making video reviews for TikTok or YouTube, so those sections weren't relevant to me but would be for other people.
I'm glad to have read the information in this book and that I'll have it available for future reference.
This toolkit is a insightful compilation of tricks and tips to help navigate the world of arc reading and reviewing. It would be well suited to new reviewers or seasoned ones that need a refresher! I wish it had been required reading when I started my netgalley journey!
This NetGalley Toolkit would have been an awesome guide to have when I first started. I like that the guide will be updated as NetGalley and social sites change. It is a quick read full of helpful tips.
This was a great introduction to reviewing via NetGalley and social media. I wish I'd had this guide when I first started on Bookstagram! No matter what platform you review on, this toolkit will likely have helpful tips to get new reviewers started!
I liked the links provided for more in-depth tips, and even learned a few new things here (like to look for hashtags on NetGalley [not sure how I never thought of that!])
This was a wonderful toolkit and gives good incite on how to make more publishers become attracted to you.
Netgalley's Book Advocate Toolkit is an easy to understand guide about how to navigate Netgalley. A good portion of the guide helps users choose and use social media platforms to promote books. This guide is geared more towards those who are new to the platform and book blogging world. Concise and user-friendly, I would recommend this book to those new to Netgalley. In the future I would like a guide for those of us who are more seasoned Netgalley users that could contain some additional tips such as how to get a review featured by publishers and how to get pre-approved. I would also like to see some testimonials from Netgalley users who have been able to launch successful book blogging (or bookstagramming) accounts as a result of Netgalley. Or testimonials from Netgalley users who are known to write excellent reviews. Any additional info that is able to sell and promote Netgalley as a platform will be helpful. What sets you apart from your competition? Have publishers truly benefited from early reviews? Has Netgalley ever considered rewarding dedicated reviewers for the quantity and quality of reviews submitted? These are the questions that I think could potentially be addressed or answered in future toolkits.
Good ideas and I especially loved how they said it was ok to take breaks from blog If you felt like you had to , since there have been times I felt like it wasn't a good idea not to be blogging. I also loved how they talked about doing short reviews which I might start doing to get back into blogging.
I imagine this guide will be very helpful for first-time Netgalley users and people looking to begin reviewing platforms on social media! The little booklet gives advice on Netgalley etiquette and Tik Tok, Twitter, Instagram, Goodreads and blogging beginners guides which I found to be pretty basic, but very useful and applicable. The formatting was also very accessible, which was fantastic.
I do have this complaint: the booklet advises Booktubers to give content warnings in their reviews, which I find to be very rich given that Netgalley does nothing to protect their reviewers. I've long held the belief that Netgalley NEEDS to require publishers to add a content warnings section on their books descriptions, perhaps hidden so that reviewers can choose to click and see what the content warnings are before requesting. Using this platform as somebody with triggers is always a toss up because any book could have nay trigger, the publishers aren't keeping early reviewers safe. I think Netgalley needs to take their own advice with this one.
Super helpful read for beginners! I especially enjoyed the section on Bookstagram. I’m looking forward to using the information I learned in my future reviewing/posting.
Super helpful resource for beginners. Wish I would have had this when I first started but also serves as a great refresher for all experience levels.
I think this toolkit was very user friendly and easy to use. The graphics and topics on each page were simple and to the point. This was a good refresher on a reminder for me to update my profile.
Thank you to Netgalley and We Are Bookish for the DRC.
Great beginners toolkit!! This would be really helpful for someone new to NetGalley or anyone wanting to branch out to different review platforms. NetGalley can be overwhelming for newbies and this definitely gives users a starting point a some great points to take into consideration as you are setting up your review platform.
This book advocate was very helpful for me, a new bookstagrammer and Netgalley reviewer! I appreciate the insight into how to write a proper review, and to check each publisher's preferences.
This book gave me such good advice in terms of my reviews and I definitely think that my reviews are going to get som much better from here.
This kit is great! Thank you so much for putting it together and offering it as a resource. I'm sure you've grown immensely this last year and this will help reviewers represent NetGalley, publishers and authors in a stronger and more respectful way as well as helpful for book lovers themselves.
