Thank you to NetGalley for this toolkit to assist me in reviewing books provided through NetGalley’s Platform. This will be a handy resource!

I apologize for my error a few minutes ago in reviewing the wrong book in this place.

Very cute design and a lovely guide for new reviewers. It's a quick read and a simple reference for anyone who may be a bit intimidated when it comes to making a reviewer profile.

Thanks for the guide NetGalley!

Great tips for beginners and experienced net galley users. It covers a lot of social media types with ideas. I wish it would have specific tips to improve your profile and bow to get approved for books.

NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit will be most beneficial to those brand new to the site and book reviewing. I've been on NG for just over two years, and after that time I've learned most of the tips outlined here. I was expecting to read this over an hour or two, but it only took me about 10 minutes to get through it.

It is laid out quite nicely and is formatted so you can easily focus on your areas of influence - blog, Goodreads, socials, etc.

I saw this guide on NetGalley’s Instagram page. I still consider myself new and still learning and this guide was a great resource to fill in the rest of the blanks that I hadn’t figured out yet. Thanks for putting this guide together, I plan to refer back to it as a continue to get comfortable on this platform.

Some of the content is super useful and I even learned a few tips here and there along the way. But some of it just common sense, honestly... Everything is prettily packaged though, and I think especially appealing to new reviewers.

Lots of useful tips and a great starting point for beginners. I will return to check this in the future!

The information is displayed in an appealing and accessible format which made it easy to read. The social media sections contained some good tips. I am not sure how much this book offers to an experienced reviewer, but would be very helpful to a new Netgalley user.

This toolkit is a must read whether you are a new or experienced book reviewer. There are plenty of tips for how to set up your account, write a good review, and even set up your social media bookish accounts. In addition, there are external links to plenty of tools and tricks for creating book blogs, creating booktubes, and using Canva to create stunning book photos for social media. Every book reviewer should have this helpful manual in their arsenal. I'm very thankful for the support NetGalley and We Are Bookish provide to the book community.

It’s pretty basic already known Information. There really wasn’t anything new to it. But the layout and the graphics are well done

We Are Bookish just released “NetGalley’s Book Advocate Toolkit” and it’s awesome! I’ve been a member of NetGalley for awhile now but I’m still learning how to be a good reviewer. I appreciate the fact that it’s written in a way that’s interesting and engaging for all users. I enjoyed reading about the different types of book reviews and platforms. I also love that accessibility was emphasized. I plan to use the information from the toolkit to update my profile description. I’m also excited to explore the links provided in the toolkit with more information about specific topics. I’d recommend this toolkit for anyone thinking about getting into book blogging.

I use an iPad app called ZoomNotes for my digital planner. There are blank sections in it and I have dedicated one of them to reading. The cool thing about ZoomNotes is I can have subdocuments. This means I can tap on the toolkit cover and it will opem right up. I have included a screenshot of my book blogging notes page below but it’s a work in progress. The planner and most of the stickers shown below are from a shop called DPC Digitals. I love it and highly recommend checking it out if digital planning is your thing.

Very informative and useful overview for those who want to become effective readers and reviewers of NetGalley books and audiobooks. As an independent publisher I appreciate the checklists for setting up and creating a profile but what I really loved are the in-depth instructions for bookstagrammers and other social media reviewers who want to expand into the pre-publication market! The guidelines and how-to's of NetGalley reviewing are priceless and will steer reviewers into the most effective way to support and inform both publishers and authors with their valuable opinions.

This Toolkit looks great visually, contains easy-to-understand information, and delivers the information in a logical way. Best of all it packs a major punch in the useful, helpful and much-appreciated how-to be NetGalley reviewer sections!

This Book Advocate Toolkit has some great tips for both NetGalley beginners and experienced reviewers. One of the most essential tips is: Fight Temptation! Avoid the request spree.” I know too well the fallout from requesting too many books and being approved for more than you expected, as I’m still trying to clear my backlog! The advice to keep your profile updated is another great one.

The tips on creating a critical review were also very helpful. The section on promoting reviews on social media was also really well done. I gleaned quite a few good tips from that section, including that it’s generally just fine to make a post that announces you’ve been approved for a particular book. This would be great for books that you are really looking forward to reading and were excited to get an approval for, but for which the publication date is fairly far away.

For posting with hashtags, the tip to check out the hashtag before using it, is a critical one that I definitely use. Since I have no desire to use video platforms, I only skimmed those sections. Content planning tips were also helpful. I already have an Excel spreadsheet I use to track my NG books, but I may add a column to include notes of where I’ve posted and when. Currently I keep that information separately in text files with my full reviews.

I use PicCollage for my Instagram graphics but this toolkit gave a lot of space to another app called Canva, so I may check that one out too.

The advice to use CamelCase for hashtags is a good one, but I find that often IG will switch what you type to all lowercase, so you really have to work at keeping your hashtags in CamelCase.

The section on Accessibility struck a nerve with me! I have a friend whose eyesight is very poor and uses screen readers extensively. Thanks to the tips here I am going to start adding image descriptions to my posts!

All in all, a very good toolkit for reviewers!

Thank you, NetGalley, for the comprehensive guide on how to become a book advocate. In clear steps and examples the guide provides directions on how to set up an account, post on social media, develop good review habits, etc. wish I found it when I was setting up my account, but better later than never. This is a wonderful resource for those new to NetGalley and a wonderful refresher for those who have been reviewing for a while.

Well, that was a bit helpful,
This is a great tool for beginners but being a year over here I would say there's nothing more helpful and just reading & reviewing what you love, keeping your account updated and tackling that TBR pike with a determination.
Mainly!!
Do Not Request book you don't want to read it if you don't have time for it 💞
