Thank you! I appreciate this document consolidating tips useful for those of us who advocate for books and request, read and review books via NetGalley. There is actually more than 30 pages of content since many topics also have a link for "more tips".
Thank you, We Are Bookish, for this guide! For someone like me who had just joined this platform earlier this month and who is fairly new to the book blogging/reviewing community in general, this was a helpful, concise guide. It covers the technicalities of reviewing books, exploring the basics of NetGalley, as well as promoting bookish sites and platforms! Many of these strategies be incorporated to how I approach NetGalley and other platforms going forward.
This guide helped me so much with my review and how to promote them. I hope to keep improving as I read more ARCs and make my way as a reliable reviewer.
Great advice for new NetGalley members and for anyone who's reviewing books! Covers many aspects of the book reviewing process - starting from requesting/reading books from NetGalley, to crafting good reviews, to sharing your thoughts to others on social media and online platforms.
This is a concise, accessible, and well-written informational guide that shows the ins and outs of using NetGalley to its full potential; and even details tips and tricks for writing book reviews, as well as creating and maintaining reviewing platforms. This also covers content planning and different apps we can use to create or edit creative content to post on social media.
As someone who is brand new to the Bookstagram community (I began my journey in the beginning of 2022) and is thinking about creating a book-themed blog, this toolkit is definitely something I can see myself going back to and referencing in the future. Formatted in a way that makes learning fun, including with colourful and comprehensive graphics, it’s very well organized in four different categories: NetGalley Tips, Book Reviews, Bookish Social Media, and Strategizing.
I found this to be very helpful in how to write reviews and what to include and not include in order to catch others' attention; and I appreciate how there are relevant online resources being hyperlinked directly in the text for convenient access. But I would be thrilled if there was a more in-depth version of this guide. For example, I felt that are missing examples for what you mean by social media platform stats and which ones are important to publishers; to see more information or examples of reviews that catch publishers’ eyes; and guidelines for how to handle reviews for books I didn’t quite connect with.
This was extremely helpful, and can be applied to those new to NetGalley or those experiences who are looking to polish some skills. In addition, this information is applicable to multiple platforms and media, therefore is useful for a variety of audiences!
Focusing on how to enhance NetGalley bios, reviews, and engagement, this Toolkit provided a variety of tips and tricks for success. For those hopeful to increase approvals or audience, this is a great toolkit to start with.
I do wish there was a bit more detail on reviews, and particularly when to review (for example, I’m approved in March for an August release; do I share that review now or closer to the publication date, or both?). However, recognizing that some preferences are publisher specific.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and We Are Bookish for the opportunity to read and provide feedback on this Toolkit, I certainly appreciate the opportunity!
Thank you for these advice ! I got great tips to do thing well on Bookstagram but also on NetGalley ! Also, I got a tutorial how to use Canva with this book and it's really Useful !
This is an wonderful resource! I wish I had this Toolkit when I first began my bookstagram. However, it is always nice to brush up these tips. Thank you so much Netgalley and We Are Bookish for more copy of Netgalley’s Book Advocate Toolkit.
Thank you NetGalley for this helpful guide! This covers a bit of everything - creating your profile, writing reviews, posting on social media, photo editing, and accessibility. Folks who have been in this space a while might already know the majority of the information, but I think everything can take something away from this.
I've come to expect that We Are Bookish's guides are going to be very well designed, and this one was no exception. A lot of good info in here that I wish I had known earlier about NetGalley (R.I.P. my feedback ratio) and some good tips for setting up a review blog, insta, or tiktok. Nicely done.
This toolkit is a great little guide showing the ins and outs of using NetGalley. Some of the items covered are how to write a review, tips on posting on most social media platforms, taking great photos, etc. I would imagine this is mainly aimed at new users, but I have been on NetGalley for a year and a half and I still picked up a couple tips, so great job!
This toolkit was so helpful! I have been using netgalley and Instagram for a long time now and still took awake new information from this! I would recommend this to everyone using netgalley and social media. Such a great thing to keep on hand as well!
A great toolkit got newbies and veterans alike! This guide provides advice on how manage arcs, write great reviews and make a good impression to publishers when requesting books.
This is very helpful information. I feel like this will help me to be more successful both on NetGalley and my Bookstagram page. Thank you NetGalley!
This had a lot of great advice and I will definitely use this as a resource. I think this is a great guide for any user but especially beginners to the site. I wish I would have this as a tool all together when I first joined.
I personally have been doing this for about 6 months and even though I felt confident in how I publish reviews, this wonderful toolkit helped me tune & refine what I already do which I loved! It doesn't matter if you're new at this, an intermediate user or advanced, anyone & everyone can take something away from this.
And I will now try my best not to do a request spree 😂
Very very helpful booklet of what to post, how to post, where to post….tips and suggestions for reviews and all around general advice. Which I had found it when I started doing reviews.
This is an excellent toolkit not just for new reviewers but also a good refresher for people who have been posting reviews/requesting ARCs for some time. Easy to follow and very useful. Thanks.

Review: Overall, I found this very informational. As someone who is fairly new to the Bookstagram community and is opening up to creating YouTube videos as well, this Toolkit was incredibly informational and is needed in the bookish community for those who are new to these types of topics. The graphics within added visual interest and the Toolkit was very well organized. This is definitely something I can see myself going back to and referencing in the future.
Thanks for the help NetGalley, this is a great reference for reviews and I’ll be looking back on it as needed
