This was actually really insightful and helpful and gave me things to think about, what I'm doing right and what I might have been doing wrong.
This will be so helpful going forward to see how my reviews change based on the suggestions.
The format was fun and easy to read, very colorful and kept my attention even during formats im not using.. yet, (I'm talking to you booktube).
I'd recommend this to anyone considering writing reviews.

I have used netgalley for many years now and have definitely learnt some of these tips the hard way! However this was still a useful guide and an interesting insight into options for expanding my social media presence. I would recommend this guide to all users of netgalley as it has proved to be useful for reminding me of the importance of keeping my profile updated and tips to help increase my chance of approval. Thank you Bookish and Netgalley for this guide and all the arcs I have been lucky enough to receive over the years!

Thank you NetGalley for putting this together!
I love some of the suggestions over here, and I’ve had to learn these things the hard way. I went on a requesting spree, and I’m still recovering; I’ve never hit 80%. I love that NetGalley suggested Trello to plan my reviews and keep track of dates (I love using trello).
I do think some of this was really basic; I would have loved a walkthrough of the new features, such as why was "Would you be in another format of this book?" Introduced etc. I just wish they had gone into more detail, for example, we're told to just go check each publisher preference individually, why not have had an example in this and walked us through that?

This was a cute little intro into how to use NetGalley and where to post reviews. As a long time user of NetGalley, I’m obsessed so couldn’t resist taking a peek at their toolkit. The brief guide is well designed and aesthetically pleasing, too!

I Wish This Was Available When I Joined NetGalley in 2016.
Whether you are a novice or a veteran NetGalley reviewer, I strongly suggest that you download and read this book. While only 31 pages in length, with much valuable information for all types of reviewers is packed into it. I really wish that this book was available when I joined NetGalley in 2016. Since then, I had learned most of tips, sometimes painfully, that this book contains, but not all. Many of the questions are answered that I see on NetGalley discussions on GoodReads and Facebook concerning how to write a review, what to do if you are experiencing reviewer’s block, and how to acknowledge that you received a free copy. By the way, I did not know that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires readers to disclose from whom they received review copies. Blogging reviews has become so important that if you do not have one, some publishers will not grant your requests. There are hints for several of the popular sites to post your reviews. So again, whether you are a novice or a veteran NetGalley reviewer, do download and read this book.

A really great resource for all NetGalley users, whether they’re just starting out or need a quick fresh further on in their journey.

Being new to NetGalley this book is extremely useful.
It is a resource I know I'll keep referring back to as time goes on.
It was also extremely easy to read and had relevant tips that will definitely improve my booktok account!

This guide is super useful for someone new to the Bookish world like me. It covers not only NetGalley and the best way to review books but also goes into other platforms like instagram and youtube and how to make the most of these. It gives easy pointers, checklists, dos and don'ts, and strategic ways of blogging that are clear and probably fairly basic but that's exactly what a lot of us just starting out are looking for. I've already noted down a few things to use for my own journey and I'm pretty sure I'll be referring back to it often in the near future.

Thank you to We Are Bookish and Netgalley for creating this Book Advocate Toolkit.
Initially I wasn't going to download this since it seemed like it would mainly geared towards beginners, but after reading another review I changed my mind. This is a good guide for everyone, not just the beginner reviewer. The toolkit covers a wide variety of information including: basic tips, social media, reviewing, and planning. It compiles a lot of the basic, need-to-know information on the Netgalley website with personal experience from reviewers into one place, with links to further information on each subject included.
My favorite part of the toolkit was the guide on social media. I like that there was a section on each platform (with links to more information) that listed the pros of each. It's a good way for you to find which one suits you best.
I was also looking forward to the section on reviewer's block, which is something that happens to me quite often. After reading the included links, I found a couple of tips, but had hoped for more. Hopefully in the future there will be more, such as specific writing excercises, listening to music or exercise.
Overall, I think this is a very good aid that every reviewer should have at their disposal.

Thanks for this. It was awesome to read and I learned so much- especially being new to posting my books on Instagram. I really appreciate the ability to learn and become a better reviewer.

This is a great guide to using NetGalley, all the questions you would have normally googled one by one in a convenient, well designed toolkit. So helpful!

Thank you We Are Bookish for sharing this toolkit! some very helpful tips I wish I learned earlier on such as to avoid spree requesting! the tips for starting Bookstagram and Booktoks were interesting and insightful and if I do go forward with making a bookstagram/booktok for myself I will take these tips into consideration! Going forward I till definitely be making spoiler free reading threads on twitter while reading these arcs! that is something I wasn't aware I was allowed to do (of course unless it's meantioned not to by the publishers!)

A visually appealing, easy to follow guide that offered a lot of helpful tips! Thank you for creating!

A great guide to getting the most out of NetGalley as a reviewer. It’s also important to read as it clearly outlines expectations and guidelines for success.
Definitely something to keep on hand as a reference.
Thank you for this resource, NetGalley!

Highly recommend to anyone new to the book reviewing world and to those looking to increase their engagement organically.
Informative tips on different types of social media, as well as dos and donts for each platform.
Canva is a fantastic tool to use. I also recommend word swag.

Very useful and informative! I printed the pdf version so I could highlight and use post it notes for the important-to-me areas.
I found that I am doing quite a bit correctly from this toolkit, but there are definitely other activities that I can do to improve my advocacy.
Great resource for the new NetGalley users, as well as those like me that have been NetGalley users for a while.
Thanks to We Are Bookish and NetGalley for wonderful How-To guide.

Very useful tool to learn a bit more. I found some things I will try to do in my reviews from now on, specially about inclusively. It is a quick read covering the more popular apps for book reviews

NetGalley's infographic Book Advocate Toolkit is perfect for quick referencing, or for use as a refresher, while crafting your latest reviews

This was honestly so helpful! The toolkit covers just about anything you'd want or need help with-from how to set up a bookstagram or booktube account to how to make your content accessible! Each section also has links to even more tips on their blog/website, so there are plenty of resources just within this short toolkit!
I appreciated the upbeat tone of the whole thing, and all the helpful hints that I wish I would have known when starting my own bookstagram and Netgalley adventure! There are even app suggestions that I'm definitely about to look into.
Thanks to We Are Bookish and Netgalley for this one!

NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit is a must read for all book reviewer, new or seasoned.
In quick read guide is a wonderful resource for managing your NetGalley requests, how to post reviews to a variety of platforms including blogs, vlogs, bookstagram, tiktok etc.
While I have been reviewing books for over a year, I know that the information provided in this guide will help me improve my reviews, increase my feedback ratio and help me get approved for the books I really want to read.
I loved that this guide provided links to other sources of information and some resources that I didn't know existed like the NetGalley Shelp app and newsletters.
I would love to see more information or examples of reviews that catch the publishers eyes as well as guidelines for how to handle reviews for books you didn't quite connect with.
