This guide book is a great introduction to the world of reviews. One of the most helpful pieces of advice is to avoid going on request sprees. When I first learned of NetGalley, I was extremely excited and wanted to request so many books. It makes sense to slow down and only do a few reviews at a time. This better serves the reviewer by not overloading yourself, and makes it more likely you’ll be able to deliver on the promised review.

Also, the advice not to tag authors in negative reviews of important. There’s no reason to do that. Reviews are for readers. You don't need to let authors know that you didn't like their book.

There are some great basic tips in this book to help lead to review success.

I do think the cover is a bit busy. It could be simplified as it’s hard to see all the parts of the cover especially when viewing on a mobile device.

Especially the Bookstagram content was really helpful. I agree to others saying NetGalley should send this to you right after signing up because I know many will have use for it. Love the layout, they really tried to not make the amount of text overwhelming.

This book should automatically get sent to users when they sign up for NetGalley. It is helpful, especially starting off.

As a newbie at NewGallery, this toolkit was like a treasure map guiding me through uncharted territory. Even though it's mainly geared towards social media, it’s packed with nifty tips and tricks for crafting reviews and keeping key points in mind. Think of it as a fun children's workbook—easy to follow, with all the important details popping out like colorful illustrations.

The advice and tools in this guide were heavily focused on social media, which isn't a bad thing, but it wasn't what I was looking for. Only a small portion of the tools were geared toward improving reviews themselves, and I expected more of the toolkit to be about the reviews themselves and not about where all the reviews could be posted and viewed. I appreciate that there were links to the Bookish website for further information on topics, but it makes me wonder why this toolkit was made at all if all the information--and more--can be found together on the website itself.

Very helpful resource to have for those requesting and reviewing on NetGalley. I just wish I’d known about it sooner! I’ll definitely be referring to this guide regularly moving forward!

This is a resource on how to use Netgalley well, tips on what to do and not when starting out to write good reviews and increase your chances of getting approved for books you request. The second half is mostly about growing your online presence on various social media platforms to share your reviews and bookish thoughts to a wider audience.

I finally learned the reason for thanking Netgalley and the publisher in reviews, so I’ll probably be more careful about that in the future. Highly recommend if you’re new to Netgalley or trying to grow a bookish platform!
