I genuinely wish I had this toolkit when I first ventured into the bookish community.

The efforts of We Are Bookish and NetGalley have resulted in an exceptional toolkit PDF that not only navigates the intricacies of NetGalley but also offers invaluable insights into how to leave a lasting impression on publishers and maintain impeccable organisation. It's a well-rounded gem that even seasoned NetGalley users will find enlightening. It offers an array of organization tips for handling multiple book approvals and nifty strategies to overcome the dreaded "reviewer's block."

What truly stood out to me, beyond the NetGalley-specific advice, is the toolkit's focus on enhancing your online presence. This demonstrates NetGalley's profound understanding of its audience and the publishing industry. By empowering reviewers to bolster their online profiles, NetGalley not only ensures their continued engagement but also assists publishers in expanding their reach and improving book marketing. It's a brilliant move that deserves applause. I particularly appreciated the toolkit's comprehensive exploration of various social media platforms and how to utilise NetGalley effectively to venture into realms like video content creation. As someone who has shied away from video content, it made me feel more confident about exploring this avenue.

If I were to nitpick for areas of improvement, it would be the toolkit's last update, which dates back to 2022. While the information remains relevant and highly beneficial, the ever-evolving landscape of technology and the book community could benefit from periodic updates (such as Threads!). Nevertheless, kudos to NetGalley and We Are Bookish for offering this invaluable resource to its members; it's an innovative and commendable addition to the bookish world.

It does what it says on the tin, a useful guide for someone starting out as a reviewer, easy to read with good graphics and a flow. It should equip users with skills and strategies for effective book promotion.
It covers:
Creating a useful profile
Review writing
Social media postings
Building a bookish community
Clear instructions are given and examples for each stage of the process.
The layout is good (appealing to the Social media generation) with infographics and easy-to-follow steps.
It also has downloadable resources for offline access.
Networking and collaboration is encourage among book advocates.
Some of the terms might be unfamiliar to some readers, (e.g. VSCO) so a link to a fuller description embedded in the text might be helpful.

32 pages of easy-to-digest tips for making the most of your Netgalley account. The first part is applicable for all Netgalley users who review books. Tips for social media and review platforms follow. I appreciated the platform-specific advice! Once I'm ready to expand from goodreads, I'm sure I'll benefit from revisiting this guide.

One thing I would change: bring the "Focus on Accessibility" page from the very end to the beginning of the social media section. If you tell others to focus on it, might as well demonstrate how it's done ;)

This was an incredibly helpful toolkit provided by NetGalley! I have heard about NetGalley and writing reviews by seeing others post on Goodreads and figured I'd give it a try myself. I've been writing book reviews all year now and occasionally posting to Instagram with a monthly book roundup.

I found this toolkit aesthetically pleasing :), but more so very informative on how to write good reviews, how to share your thoughts about a book without giving too much away or swaying someone's opinion too much! I also learned a lot more on starting a Bookish following on social media than I expected to.

Anyone new to the NetGalley community who plans to write reviews and/or post on social media should definitely read through and study this toolkit! Thanks NetGalley for the helpful info.

Useful book. I probably should have read this before I was a year into reading and reviewing for my audience! Coupled with the reading notebook they gave out for the Holidays this year, this contains everything you need to provide quality and timely reviews of books.

This toolkit helped me a lot especially as a beginner in Netgalley! I gained a lot of insights about the process of requesting ARCs as well as how to maintain a good Feedback ratio. I loved that it also includes a section with tips on how to start and improve your social media platform depending on where you prefer to talk about books! I have a Bookstagram so all the tips are so helpful especially about the photo taking tips as I am still currently learning how to improve my skills in that department. Other things I loved about this is that it includes a guide on how to contruct your review as well as additional links if you want to dive deep into a specific topic. Thank you for this toolkit!
