This has good tips and tricks when first starting out. My one critique would be to include links or site links when giving information that can be expanded on. For example, the guide talks about book publishers preferences and it would be nice to state where to find those.

Great guide for beginners! I don't have a social media presence except for Goodreads but I do want to write thoughtful reviews that leave an impact. I like the graphics and tips for people who want to boost their profile to increase their chances of getting ARC's.

The first thing I noticed when browsing through this book is its design. Far from being bland and boring like a lot of manuals are, this toolkit is colorful and visual, which makes it far more pleasant to read. Its content is informational and on point to get started, and I really appreciated how inclusive it was. Not only does it cover various ways to review books and various platforms to do it on (although I would have appreciated it if Goodreads were a little more included), its authors were also mindful of disabled readers when they wrote it by making sure to give advice on how to include them and make reviews accessible to all instead of forgetting they exist.

Overall, I found this book very helpful and informational. It is perfect for those getting started on NetGalley, and even more for those who are new to the book-reviewing world as a whole. Even if you are a senior reviewer, I would recommend it if you are new to NetGalley, as it never hurts to make sure you have all the tips to make the most of your experience!

I think this toolkit does exactly what it intends to do. It gives good instructions on how to do book reviews ON Netgalley. Anyone with a problem with this toolkit that provides thoughtful and detailed advice for Netgalley arc books needs to reread the title. It specifically says its FOR Netgalley not anywhere else. I don't understand why this would even be put down or criticized. So thank you Netgalley for your helpful advice.

This was very helpful, it easy to read and to follow. I do wish there was more information about downloading a book. As some publishers set up an automatic download but if you don't physically download it to your shelf, you can lose it after the archive date, but alas, it may also be user error. 😂😋 I like that it can be downloaded to my shelf for reference if needed for later.

I downloaded and read through the Book Advocate Toolkit in the hopes of finding tips and tricks for producing better reviews, learning the appropriate length of a review, and discovering what was the most important issues to share, beyond what, why, where, and who. Since I have been reviewing books for years, both on NetGalley and Amazon, I thought I knew the basics and was looking to discover more advanced suggestions, possibly delving further into including HTML, pictures, or other supporting attachments not just for NG, but Twitter and Goodreads specifically. Really, the Toolkit appears to be geared only for new reviewers of NG.
