NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit is a good and helpful guide about reviewing books online, and about how NetGalley works.

You can find some good tips about writing reviews, as well as structuring them and planning them out.

If you are just reviewing books for fun or call yourself a reviewer, if you have a social media account or blog focused on books, and/or are reviewing books professionally, you might learn some new or useful tips from this.

Thank you to NetGalley for the DRC. All opinions are my own.

This tool kit is super helpful to a beginning of being a NetGalley Book Advocate. It helps to plan and organize my eArcs and make sure that i am learning and creating better feedback for authors and publishers.

Sorry I accidentally reviewed a different book in here by mistake...I've corrected this on Goodreads.

Corrected review:

"Whoops accidentally reviewed the advice document for NetGalley thinking I was submitting one for another book. I've since removed the review for the other book.

May as well just add that this is a really helpful toolkit on how to write reviews (both positive and critical) and how to manage these reviews on various social media platforms.

My faux pas has nothing to do with the advice in this manual."

Really helpful and useful toolkit - even if you think you know everything there is to know! I learned new tips and hints and have good insight now in using Canva (which I hadn't realised has many templates!) as well as other photo tips.

Thank you Netgalley for providing this educational tool. What would I do without it? I would probably ramble.

This toolkit has proven to be essential in my early beginnings as a reviewer. It has helped me tremendously in both starting my reviews as well as focusing them. It is both informational as well as concise. It was a lifesaver when I found myself suffering from a case of writer’s block, or is the term reviewer’s block. Nonetheless, none-the-less, I got through it. I do believe I will use it for future use. I will probably even use it on work projects. We will just see how that goes.

This toolkit gave me so much to think about. Great tips! I liked that each social media site was broken down into specific information.

This toolkit was a great thing to have as a new reviewer. It helped me with tips on posting to my socials and made me decide to start a book twitter. It was very clear and visually appealing. I recommend new reviewers look at this pamphlet.

A guide that every NetGalley reviewer should consider reading at least once, and always have it handy for future references. Very helpful.

A nice tutorial for writing book reviews. It's incredibly useful, yet the font and graphic style make it quite difficult to read.

I'm so glad to have found NetGalley (I mean, who doesn't like free advance books from your favorite authors or in your favorite genres?)

I also really enjoy all of the tips and information that come in the We Are Bookish emails--they give actionable ideas and recommendations to keep book reviewers and bloggers relevant and popular.

This Book Advocate Toolkit brings together many of those tips into one handy easy-access pamphlet which is a great place for those new to NetGalley to start, but also can be a helpful reminder/refresh for those that have been using NetGalley for awhile.

My only complaint is that I printed it out to read on the plane and it doesn't seem to be printer-friendly:
1) there aren't page numbers, even though there are statements that say things like "see page 25"
2) there are several embedded links to "learn more"

Those certainly don't negate the usefulness of the kit, so it's definitely one I would still recommend and plan on returning to often!
