This is a handy reference for Netgalley readers. I wish it had been available in August 2018 when I first registered on Netgalley. I had been reviewing for Crime Classics, and they began sending the books with Netgalley. I am so glad of that move, because I have now reviewed 305 books for Netgalley, from several publishers and many different authors. However, I wasn't sure how to register, and registered in the wrong category which I find can't be changed. It tells you how you can withdraw a request, and how to begin on Netgalley by asking for one book at a time to build up your feedback ratio.

There is a section on writing your review which is helpful. There is also a large section on social media and blogs and how to use them. Unfortunately, I am not comfortable with social media and blogs, and believe it is how most spammers connect with those they hack.

This is very helpful as someone who is just getting started on NetGalley. The toolkit provides many ideas on how to get started on various platforms as well as providing helpful guidelines on how to formulate your reviews. I will definitely be referencing this as I begin my journey here.

The Book Advocate Toolkit has been extremely helpful in helping me review books and think about the way that I interact with NetGalley. All of the tips are extremely helpful and include suggestions that I had never heard before. I appreciate the fact that tips and suggestions were outlined in a way that allows readers to use them as steps for improving their reviews and the way that they use NetGalley. I will definitely return to this periodically to make sure that I am incorporating these helpful tips in all of my reviews.

I enjoyed this overview although didn’t learn much of anything new… EXCEPT I didn’t ever notice the publisher’s notes on what they look for in approving a reader, so that was a nice find.
