Great resources! I always come back to this little booklet when I need ideas for structuring reviews, or planning content for my social media pages.
This “book” was helpful and I probably should have read it before I started to request books. I’m still finding my voice for reviews and I’m not the kind of person that really enjoys “putting it all out there” so I found the social media comparison useful. It sounds exhausting to run a BookTok or Bookstagram but I would be lying if I said I haven’t been tempted to start one (or both). Overall this is a good introductory resource for book reviewers and now I need to go try to resuscitate my feedback ratio as I definitely fell prey to the request frenzy.
This a very useful toolkit for every reader who wants to share good reviews to help authors!
Thank you NetGalley for giving us this book :)
Very helpful and informative! I enjoyed the assistance I found here in how to write a great review (including a helpful list of do's and don'ts) in addition to the suggestions for sharing book reviews. This dives into some great ideas for social media as well such as Bookstagram, Booktok and Booktube with some fantastic checklists to spur creativity as you get started. It was very easy to access this guide on the NetGalley Shelf app which I appreciated. Thank you NetGalley for providing this!
Excellent free review writing, and marketing tips from Netgalley's We Are Bookish team. Brilliant and informative for any new or jaded reviewer.
It was very helpful!.
It helped me understand what to do and what not to do in reviewing NetGalley titles and reviewing books in general.
Big thanks to the publishers. Great job!.
A great starter pack for NetGalley reviewers and book bloggers! Super easy to follow with great graphics and LOADS of great pointers. Recommended for all using NetGalley, even seasoned pros, theres so many great hints and tips.
This is so informative and helpful - it should be automatically put on the shelf of anyone who signs up for NetGalley. It may have stopped me falling into the trap of acting like a 5-year-old in a sweet shop as soon as I joined and avoided the 'request spree (I will catch up on my reviews, honestly NetGalley).
This Toolkit is full of helpful insight, hints and tips that are helping me use NetGalley and social media to promote books and reading; and in building my confidence in offering reviews.
As someone who is relatively new to NetGallery, I found this toolkit very helpful. I really liked how everything is broken down in separate sections, especially the helpful hints about what suits the different social media platforms better. I could have used a bit more detail on how to write helpful reviews. Overall, this was helpful and I’m hopeful it will help me elevate my NetGallery reviews.
I really enjoyed all the tips on reviewing books and improving social media presence on each of the various platforms. I can't wait to put some of the tips into practice.
This a wonderful concise introduction to becoming a book advocate! So much great advice that I can't wait to put into practice.
Wish I'd read this sooner thanks We are Bookish.
This was fantastic! Short and easy tips for book reviewing. I’d recommend this to anyone new to Netgalley or considering new social platforms to share and discuss books and ARCs.
An invaluable reference for new NetGalley accounts. What to do, what not to do, and how to keep that all important feedback ratio up.
I have found this to be an absolute treasure trove of information! As a newbie, I have so much to learn. This book breaks it all down into simple bytes of information and helpful links. This is a MUST-have for book reviewers!
As someone new to NetGalley (and bookstagramming!) I just want to say how helpful this getting started guide is! Some of the tips and suggestions seem obvious, but are such important reminders. For example, I honestly hadn’t considered that sharing quotes for ARCs isn’t appreciated because the final printing might vary. The suggestions for constructive/critical reviews was also really appreciated, and the primer on how the rating system here works is gold. Thanks again for helping newbies like me get off to a strong start, NetGalley!
I found this toolkit to be very informative. It's mainly focused on setting up a full social media persona rather than writing reviews specifically. However, it was very detailed, and it offered lost of specific ideas to feature book reviews online.
I haven't finished this, but I like having a toolkit to refer to. As I've upped my Instagram game, I'd love to get better at using Netgalley. It's just a little frustrating that getting these types of aids which benefit Netgalley also affects our feedback ration. These really should not be included.
I mean, what is there to complain about? Free advice on ensuring your reviews are clear, fair and reach a good audience, with lots of tips for requesting, writing and getting your reviews out there. I think this is a great resource for NetGalley to put out for free - sure, it's not 100% comprehensive, but I think this is a really helpful tool for anyone at any stage of their ARC journey :)
Helpful with the basics of getting started on NetGalley- but would have loved savvier advice on audience building.
I truly enjoyed this toolkit and am excited to up my reviews using some of these tips. On my instagram account, I get confused with hashtags and tags and you made it perfectly clear—an answer I’ve been seeking for a long time that others were not able to answer for me.
Booktube was something that I hadn’t even heard of before. This sounds like a lot of fun and I have an idea for an account to hopefully I’ll get it together and start an account to reach more readers with the reviews I have to offer. This really sounds fun!
