I shouldn't be surprised that Sidney Poitier is good at more than just acting. He brings the same sensitivity, intelligence, and awareness to his writing. The novel defies genre, so should have wide appeal. highly recommended for libraries.

Interesting read and good first novel by The Sidney Poitier! Mostly fiction with a little sci-fi thrown in. Are we really alone in the universe? A whole cast of characters and story lines. Some are definitely more fleshed out than others. The author definitely wanted to get his point across and some of the monologues towards the end really bogged things down in my opinion. Not so much that I didn't want to finish the book. All in all an enjoyable read.
