I enjoyed this one a lot. Some of the characters in the book draw me a little bit nuts but overall the character development was very good. The story had me guessing till the very end. I would give it a four out of five stars
"Party at Number 12" by Kerry Wilkinson is a thrilling rollercoaster ride that keeps readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. Hannah's farewell party sets the stage for an evening of celebration, but beneath the surface lies a tangled web of secrets and tensions among the guests. When tragedy strikes the morning after, Hannah is torn between seeking justice and protecting the group's hidden truths. Wilkinson expertly crafts a fast-paced narrative filled with twists and turns, ensuring that readers are hooked until the final revelation. While not my favorite of Wilkinson's works, "Party at Number 12" remains a captivating and enjoyable read. The audiobook format adds an extra layer of immersion, allowing readers to fully engage with the story. Overall, this gripping thriller is sure to delight fans of the genre, delivering a satisfying blend of mystery and suspense.
Super suspenseful thriller that will leave you wondering until the end of the book. It was very well done and the author did an amazing job on this one.
I had mixed feelings on this book. The beginning was very slow and it was very slow at giving information. The premise felt like many others that I have read before. A disappointment
I love Kerry Wilkinson’s books and this was a real treat.
Hannah is planning to go travelling with the inheritance left to her by her grandmother. Her mother suggests they have a get together with a few friends and family before she goes.
They hire a house nearby for the night and all seems well. Hannah has invited her two old school friends who no longer speak, but hopes this will be a chance for reconciliation.
Events unfold and life will never be the same again. I really enjoyed this, and didn’t see the twist coming at the end.
Really enjoyed this - will definitely be recommending and looking forward to the next one by this author!
I have read a number of this authors books which I really enjoyed so I was looking forward to reading this one. I was really disappointed with this one as it was really slow and not really that gripping at all and not much of a storyline.
Another great read from the author that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. Really enjoyed it. It is a bit of a slow burner to begin with but once it gets going, it's gripping.
It was the tagline for this book that captured my interest, "Everyone's invited. Someone will never leave." The scene is a beautiful rented townhome, the guests, all family, and friends, but one of the guests turns up dead after a grand soiree the night before. The Part at Number 12 is a book that will keep you guessing right up to the very end.
Well, I stopped this book for quite sometime because I couldn’t get into it. However, I recently started it back up and regret DNFing it at first!
Once you really get into it, you are hanging on every word trying to figure out who killed Katherine and why! There were a lot of twists and you couldn’t trust any of the characters.
I definitely recommend this read, it was twisty and after getting into it a bit, it picks up a great pace!
Sadly, this went from awesome to meh real quick. I had high hopes for this one. But it failed miserably to get my attention.
Thanks to Netgalley! Hoping for a better read next time!
3 for neutral, was unable to access my netgalley account for months, until today. Because of this, I was unable to see which books I needed to read. I apologize for the inconvenience and hopefully will not have any more issues in future.
This one didn’t work for me, I’m a bit fan of Kerry Wilkinson and will keep reading their books, but this just didn’t work. I didn’t care about the characters and the mystery promised to be more mysterious than it was.
The plot grabbed me straight away. It was a fast paced read but it was over the top at times. Of course it had a great ending but I failed to connect to the characters.
I really liked this one. The twist was good and the reading was smooth. I really enjoyed the writing and I will be looking at other books from this author.
Thrilling. Tense. Such a wonderful page turner. A transporting read packed full of twists. I very highly recommend this one.
Oh what can I say about The Party at Number 12 by Kerry Wilkinson…. Just wow!! A fabulous book that I could not put down. Kept me guessing to the end. You know when you pick up a book by Kerry you will loose several hours/days from your life as they are so addictive. This book was no exception.
Full of twists and turns and keeps you guessing right until the end. After receiving a generous inheritance from her grandma, Hannah wants to move away, but also wants to throw one more party before she does....However she's not on great terms with the people and by morning one of them is dead! History gradually unravels and reveals the whole story.
I would say I liked this book, didn't love it but can see why people would!
⭐⭐⭐.5
This was definitely an entertaining read. Well written. Fast-paced. Plenty of twists and turns. Intriguing characters (a little difficult to keep track of who was who at the beginning). The main issue I had with this one was the ending (twist). It was very abrupt, and dare I say, a little farfetched. Or maybe I mean a little extreme for the motive given for the murder. Maybe had the author dropped in a few hints here and there that more was amiss with this person, it would have been more believable? That said, it was still a fun read that I finished all in one sitting!

Hannah smiles at her guests. In this grand house rented specially for the evening, everyone admires the sparkling chandelier and raises a glass to say goodbye before Hannah moves away from this little town for good. But the next day, one of them lies cold and lifeless in their bed…
The day of her leaving party, Hannah Ford is nervous. With so many secrets and lies over the years between her friends, and arguments between her sisters, is it really a good idea to gather everyone together? But her mother insists that, after Hannah’s divorce and job struggles, she deserves a send-off to remember. So they all plaster on fake smiles and put aside their rifts for an evening of celebrations.
In the morning, one of the guests is found dead.
Hannah is desperate to tell the police. But every single guest has something to hide, or someone to protect. The group insists: they will deal with this themselves.
After all, it must have been an accident. Perhaps too much wine, on a night where emotions were running high.
But what if it wasn’t?
And what if this was just the first victim?
