This was a twisty ride! Someone turns up dead at a sleepover and the mystery begins. Secrets and lies fuel this suspenseful thriller driven by deception and betrayal. Is a killer among them? Was the death an unfortunate accident, or is something more sinister at play! Fast paced, intriguing and extremely entertaining! This is the first book I have read by this author, but certainly won’t be the last. Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for my copy.

My thanks to NetGalley and BookOuture for a copy of “ The Party At Number 12 “ for an honest review.

Kerry Wilkinson is one of my ‘ go to ‘ authors. I’ve read ,and given very positive reviews for , many of his previous books, and this new publication doesn’t disappoint.
I was hooked from the beginning, and it kept me guessing right to the satisfying ending.
A definite recommendation

The story kept me hooked and the crises that the characters were going through felt raw. It made me question what I would do in the same type of situation, which made the novel all the more interesting to read. I loved the twists as well, some unexpected!

This was a thriller that I liked. There were a lot of secrets and like which I really like in a thriller. This is also a very quick read and you will want to keep reading to get answers. This was a typically thriller and I liked it. Nothing really stood out to me. But I would suggest it.

The Party at No. 12 by Kerry Wilkinson is a psychological thriller.

First, let me thank NetGalley, the publisher Bookouture and of course the author, for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

My Synopsis:   (No major reveals, but if concerned, skip to My Opinions)
Hannah Ford has recently divorced her husband, and finally quit her hated job.  She moved back in with her mom, but that isn't really working either. So, she's going to travel for a bit.  A week before she is due to leave,  Hannah rents a house and has a small going away party.  Just her Mom, her two sisters, her aunt, a friend of her mothers and two old friends of hers. A few games, some alcohol, and some good conversation.

The next morning, one of the party-goers is dead.  Hannah wants to call the police, but the group decides to deal with this themselves.  Everyone either has a secret, or is protecting someone else, so they decide to cover up the death.  Besides, it was an accident, so why should the police be involved.

But covering this up isn't as easy as it originally appeared.

My Opinions:
Once again, Kerry Wilkinson has written a fast-paced, suspense-filled novel, that kept me flipping those pages to find out what happens next.

In the end, it was a straight-forward mystery, with a twist.  The perpetrator was NOT who I thought it was, and I always add a point for that!  It may not have been a deep, winding story, but it was good.

The books by this author or always good, and sometimes great.  I will definitely continue to read his books.

Yet another classic from the author. I was guessing left, right and centre from the start. Expertly written in third person, whilst maintaining the characters inner voices. I loved the internal monologue-those inner thoughts drawing me inside the MCs head. I also enjoyed the twists.

The Party at Number 12 is a fast paced thriller. Hannah Ford decides to have a going away party before she decides to travel around the world. She invites her family and some friends. After a night of drinking and playing games, one of the women is dead. Many of the women have reasons to hide the truth. The cover up is even better than the murder. I guessed the killer early on, but it didn’t take away my enjoyment of the book.
This is my first book byKerry Wilkinson, but it won’t be my last. I want to thank the author, Bookouture, and Netgalley for a complimentary copy of the book. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Wow, what a plot twist. I am still reeling from the end of this book. This was an exciting read from chapter one. I found myself holding my breath though most of this read, always waiting for the next shoe to fall. But I never could have guessed who the killer was and as for the motive, it was dynamite. One to be read in a single sitting

A really great read. The reader is kept guessing who dunnit til the end. It could be any one of 7 people and each of them had reasons.

An unputdownable full of mystery read that captures you from the beginning.

I had my guesses and theories but failed at them and I love that.

Wow, this book managed to surprise me with quite the unexpected culprit! The main character is a young woman whose shattered marriage and other failures motivate her to start afresh in a new spot, but the send off party takes a dangerous turn and throws her plans to the wind.

Another fabulous read by Kerry Wilkinson. It’s deliciously dark and a very easy read. I raced through it once I started it.
I enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it.

This was my first in real life book club read; and reading it as part of a book club just added to the book!

This book was definitely a fast paced, page turning thriller, that left me wanting more

Eight women enter a house one Saturday evening, for a “goodbye” party for Hannah. However, only seven of them leave alive.

Throughout the book, I suspected each and everyone of them for my own reasons, except the actual person who committed the murder!

The plot was very enthralling, but I did find the ending to be a little bit unrealistic. I also thought that there was a fair bit of the book missing and some of the characters and life events were just skimmed across

I would have liked to have seen a little bit more of the court case, but it didn’t spoil the book by not including much of it

I did really enjoy the book overall and will read more by this author

Yet another great read from Kerry Wilkinson.
THE PARTY AT NUMBER 12 is a quick gripping read, complete with twists that will have you turning the pages. Some things were obvious, others less so - but each will keep you guessing.
If you have never read anything by Kerry before, I'd certainly recommend as he's a brilliant author. Those twists always surprise me!
Many thanks to Netgalley, the publishers and the author for an ARC.

Really good book! Very twisted story, not sure who was behind the death at the house. Could have been anyone at the party! Thrilling enough to keep you away at night.

I always like a mystery where guests are invited to a party or dinner, everyone has a secret to hide, then BAM! Someone is murdered. It probably stems from my love one of the best movies, 1985’s Clue.
Once I started this book, I couldn’t put it down! The twists throughout the story kept me engaged and the fast-paced plot made the story fly by. This is a great read for the beach or a girls weekend away.

A well written story with characters that come to life.
The plot is fairly straightforward but the whodunit keeps you guessing until the jaw dropping ending. This is a classic style murder mystery with some unique twists. A whole group is covering up a death but there is something about this death that only one of them knows. Bittersweet and horrifying in equal parts. An overall great read

As always the author delivers a fast paced mystery that is interesting to the end. I especially liked this one because there was varying levels of guilt for the main characters. It was realistic as you could imagine a scenario like this happening and the hard decisions you would have to make. I liked the different drama weaved into the story as it not only was entertaining, but added to the story. The only thing I wanted to know more about was the why at the end. (4.25)

2.5 stars!

I had to skim the middle part of this book just because it was dragging on. This was a pretty sterotypical thriller but the ending left me majorly confused because it felt like the author just picked the killer out of a hat. I enjoyed the British atmosphere but unfortunately did not feel like there was much I enjoyed.

Imagine this…

You attend a going away party for one of your friends who is going traveling for awhile. You are drinking, eating pizza, playing games and things start to get a little tense because some of you haven’t seen each other in years so there’s some drama.

You all settle into your rooms at night and wake up to find one of your childhood friends is dead. Everyone assumes the drugs she took had a bad reaction and she died in her sleep.

Instead of calling the police, like you should. You take the body and bury her because if the cops come someone could get in trouble.

OBVIOUSLY, this doesn’t work.

The body is found, an autopsy is done and the cause of death is suffocation. Well, fuck. That means one of your family members or friends killed this girl.

Twists and turns happen during the mission to find out the truth behind who killed Katherine.

If you are a thriller professional, about halfway through I’d say you could pick up on who killed her, but it’s a solid story with some amazingly screwed up twists.

You can’t trust anyone.
