A good read but didn't enjoy it as much as previous books from this author. It was well written with interesting characters and a good ending which I didn't guess.
Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read this book which I can thoroughly recommend.
I enjoyed this book, I like the suspense it left as to who killed her everytime I had to put it down I was ready to pick it back up and finish it. The characters were easily to get and relate too. I loved the fact it didn’t try to narrow it down to one person until the very end!

What a party that turned out to be! Hannah had a failed relationship and a ho-hum job that she was tired of so she decided to go traveling after she and her sisters inherited money from their grandmother. Her family decided she should have a going away party and they picked a ritzy rental for it. The guest list included Hannah's two sisters, Charlotte and Beth, their mother Alison, best friend Sophie, Alison's sister Dawn and her daughter, Janet. A few days before the party, Hannah ran into her friend, Katherine at the store, and she invited her. Hannah, Sophie and Katherine were best friends growing up and throughout high school. Katherine's high school boyfriend, Tom, broke up with her and started dating Sophie who he ended up marrying. This broke up the friendship for the three girls and Hannah stayed friends with both of them but the three were not a trio any longer. Hannah knew this was going to cause tension at the party but she did not really expect Katherine to show up. They drank, ate pizza, played a board game and then called it a night. The next morning, it is discovered that one of the guests was dead in her bed. What should they do about this???? This book kept me on the edge of the seat and it was truly a page-turner until the very end. I did not have the ending figured out.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC of this captivating spell-binding book.

The day of her leaving party, Hannah Ford is nervous. With so many secrets and lies over the years between her friends, and arguments between her sisters, is it really a good idea to gather everyone together? But her mother insists that, after Hannah's divorce and struggles, she deserves a send-off to remember. So they all plaster on fake smiles, and put aside their rifts for an evening of celebrations. In the morning, one guest is found dead.
Eight women go to a house they've rented for a leaving party, but only seven are alive in the morning. How could a leaving party end up with one person dead? Everyone of the characters have secrets. What did happen at no. 12 is slowly drip fed to us and more suspects are revealed. Hannah's mother makes some dreadful decisions, she should have had more sense. There's a few twists and the ending was a surprise. Although this is quite a good read, some of the decisions were questionable.
I would like to thank #NetGalley #Bookouture and the author #KerryWilkinson for my ARC of #ThePartyAtNo12 in exchange for an honest review.
So this was a mixed bag for me some parts I liked and others I was not so invested in, the second half of the book was defiantly more appealing than the first half as the pace sped up and we got to the nitty gritty.
It was an entertaining read but it lacked something for me not the best that I have read from this author.
I couldn't resist adding The Party At No. 12 to my shelves, both because I've enjoyed Kerry Wilkinson's stories in the past and because I was intrigued by the blurb. A party with a deadly end, lots of secrets and loaded history between those in play; how could I resist that?! I'm definitely glad I didn't, because I ended up having an excellent time with this story. The Party At No. 12 both starts and ends with a bang, and there is no doubt that this story is an engaging and fast-paced psychological thriller set out to both entertain and mislead you at the same time.
The plot at first glance is quite simple. We have the party where eight women belonging to two generations get together, some family and some friends for a long time. You immediately realize that it's not all roses and sunshine between them, and you can cut the tension between especially Sophie and Katherine... But what you don't know is what is exactly going on, nor what everyone is hiding. The party itself doesn't exactly go smoothly either, but that is nothing compared to the discovery that is made the next day: one of them is dead. And what the seven remaining women decide to do afterwards that is what makes this story so interesting.
The development of the plot and plot twists is very well done; it keeps you entertained while also misleading you with multiple suspects and/or (lack of) information that keeps you wondering. The dual POV structure, switching between Hannah and Zach enables you to see both sides of the investigation and it was interesting to see the two POVs slowly coming together. There were lots of secrets and lies unraveled along the way, but none as massive as that final plot twist bomb. I most definitely didn't see that ending coming! And that isn't something that happens often for me anymore after reading so many thrillers throughout the years.
In short, The Party At No. 12 turned out to be a highly entertaining and fast-paced psychological thriller packed with twists and an explosive ending you won't see coming. If you like the genre, I can definitely recommend this title and his books in general for that matter!
I’d like to thank Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘The Party At No. 12’ written by Kerry Wilkinson in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
A week before Hannah Ford is due to go travelling she decides to hold a party, an opportunity to get together with family and friends, and rents a bungalow for the weekend. During the evening old animosities arise and in the morning one of their party is dead. Against her better judgement, Hannah is persuaded to cover it up but when the police start questioning her what appears to be a simple lie grows out of all proportion until she believes the police will think her guilty of a crime she knows she hasn’t committed. But as the only people present were those she’d invited, then one of them must be responsible.
‘The Party At No. 10’ contains all the elements necessary to create an exciting thriller, the type that’s destined to keep you on the edge of your seat unable to stop reading. I’ve been gripped from the first page thinking I knew the identity of the guilty person until another red herring is thrown into the mix making me rethink my earlier impressions. This is one of Kerry Wilkinson’s better thrillers that’s packed full of tension, drama and unexpected twists and turns, and with the surprising and slightly shocking ending I can highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys an addictive thriller that they won’t want to put down.
Thank you NetGalley and bookouture
This novel starts off quickly and doesn’t really let up. Super fast easy read. Some great twists that I didn’t see coming. Overall a great mystery/thriller.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of this book in exchange for a review.
• I am also a mystery and thriller reader besides reading romance. I was engrossed in reading romance lately that I haven't had time to switch into my other niche. That's why I am so happy I was approved to read this book in advance!
• The story started so slow, but I did enjoy it especially when I was able to get some things right, thinking I could have a future in investigating/detective stuff lol. It was a little bit predictable on some parts, but I didn't expect the twist at the end! I am expecting more for the ending though because it feels like the answers were all summarized in one conversation between the two people. I guess the ending will be more satisfying if confrontations and the arrests were detailed.
• Overall, this book was filled with mystery and I love how this story made me overthink! (Only books are allowed to make me overthink ) Now that I discovered Kerry Wilkinson, I plan to read more of her works! Seems very intriguing! If you're into a psychological thriller, secrets, and loves to unravel them, I recommend this book.
Eight women enter a house on Saturday to bus a find farewell to Hannah before she goes travelling, but only seven will be alive on Sunday morning. If your looking for a quick whodunit read then this book is for you. It’s punchy and pacy and will certainly keep you entertained but I did find it lacked a bit of substance and the ending disappointed. I would rate it 3.5 stars. Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the chance to review.
As Hannah prepares for a farewell party with a few of her family and close friends, before leaving to go abroad, she hardly expects a tragedy to occur. But as they start to wake on the Sunday morning a body is discovered in one of the bedrooms.
I enjoyed the premise of this novel for the most part but found some of the decisions made by the group quite unbelievable, I could sort of understand the reasoning behind some of them but found them to be be quite cold and calculated and almost predetermined.
A case of keeping your friends close and your enemies closer
Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this advanced copy, I am under no obligation to leave my review

This book ended up not being my cup of tea. It started out confused and fumbling. So many characters and so much being thrown at me all at once. It took me a while to establish who was who and what their relationships were. Then a dead body shows up and the confusion begins again, this time with the characters thoughts and decisions. I was utterly frustrated. And then the story changed from what I thought it would be group of women with complex relationships, back stories, and intentions--to a detective story. And after all that, the ending sucked.
When a posh house is rented for a sleepover going away party, murder was the last thing that was expected to occur! However, morning brought the discovery of one party-goer lying dead in their bed.
This book was a great murder mystery that had a few surprising twists and I did not guess how the murder had occurred. It was a quick read, clocking in at 304 pages. I highly recommend if you enjoy closed door murders where there are only a few people who could be the murderer.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read this book ahead of publication in exchange for my honest review.
I have read many of Kerry's books and really enjoyed them and this was no exception. Lots of red herrings to throw us off the scent of who done it! A great suspenseful storyline with likeable characters and I certainly didn't expect the ending. I highly recommend this book and author.
Kept me guessing all the way through! Plenty of red herrings to have you looking at each character of which when the killer is revealed, what a shock as hadn't seen than coming!
A suspenseful, page turner of a read!
A Night To Die For…
A lavish party, planned to perfection, and yet a tragic outcome to what was supposed to be the perfect evening. It was a night to die for, in the worst possible way. When a body is discovered the next morning it, perhaps, comes as a shock. It must be an accident. Right? Fast moving, entertaining suspense with an enjoyable cast of characters and an intriguing storyline.
Big Pancake Slap! Say What?! 😳😯🤯
Whhoooaa! Well this book didn't take long to start off with a major bang! I never saw that ending coming! I mean wow! I thought I had it figured out twice! But no no I was so off the mark! Geez almighty what did I just real?! Hannah decides to book a luxury house for an overnight get together for her family; mother Alison, aunt Dawn, and sisters Beth and Charlotte; & her best friends mother, Janet, best friend Sophie & acquaintance Katherine. This is supposed to be a going away party for Hannah even with all the secrets & fractures in the relationships. But a seemingly great idea, turns sinister fast. The following morning after the party, someone ends up dead & soon it turns into a cover up for a seeming accident. Because it was just an accident and slip of judgement for the dead, right? Or was it? Fluff balls! That ending 😳😳 unreal novel people!
Thank you to NetGalley and bookouture for this ARC.
Release date: March 11, 2022.
I give this 4 / 5 snowflakes! ❄️
I’ve never read a novel by Kerry Wilkinson before, but I thought this book was awesome! I was honestly very pleasantly surprised. I was drawn in by the title and the cover (I love murder mystery thrillers) and this book did not disappoint.
Hannah is moving away, and her family decides to throw a last minute going away party at a rented house — house no. 12! One of the guests winds up dead the next morning, but everyone is reluctant to call the police in fear that fingers will be immediately pointed because everyone seems to have something to hide.
Full of suspense (although a little slow burning at first) and lots of great twists and turns! The ending was one I did not predict and I can appreciate that since I am always trying to guess the ending in a good thriller!
Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing The Party at No. 12 in exchange for an honest review.
This was a four-star read for me. I would be interested in reading other books by the author, Kerry Wilkinson.
Hannah is going on an extended trip and has organized a "going away" party with her sisters, mom, aunt, and family friends. The party takes place in a grand townhome - No.12 - rented for the weekend.
One of the guests is found dead the next morning, but no one wants to call the police. It turns out that all the guests have secrets to hide.
Can one of them be the killer? Why? What are the secrets everyone is hiding?
The suspense builds throughout, as secrets are uncovered and bonds are threatened.
I did not see the ending coming at all.
Very good domestic thriller! I would highly recommend!
This is a typical Kerry Wilkinson novel, fast paced, lots of suspense and a page turner, what more could you ask for.
Hannah has inherited money and is moving away from the family home for good. To celebrate, Hannah and her family and friends are holding a get together at a rented house. But the next day, one of them is dead.
Hannah wants to call the police but every single guest has something to hide, or someone to protect. Against Hannah’s wishes the group insists on taking matters into their own hands. Surely the death was an accident.
An exciting read that will keep you gripped, full of twists and turns and surprises.
