I discovered Katherine Center as an author after loving the movie of 'Happiness for Beginners', and I have fallen in love with her brilliant storytelling and wonderful writing. Like all her books this was filled with wonderful characters just trying to find their way in the world. On every page there are quiet griefs, gentle joys and slow growing love all tempered with a wonderful kind of wisdom. This is a book about loss, and new beginnings, and about letting go of the past to give yourself a chance for a better future. Whilst this is an earlier book from this author it is very much worth a read.

This was a really sweet read. Grief and sorrow are two things that never truly go away. I would have loved to see a little more romance but, many readers like just a hint.

Libby has been living with her mother and two children in condo since the sudden passing of her husband left her and her finances a little questionable. A letter from her aunt offering to move to her farm and change their life gave her the perfect out and may also be the worst decision!
I loved this little book. I read it in one afternoon and it was a fun ride to watch Libby, her kids, her Aunt Jean and O'Connor on this farm both grow and change. Katherine created great characters that had me hooked early on and made me keep turning and turning pages.
The plot was just great. Not to spoil, but I loved where the love story ended, it felt as though the romance went naturally and didn't feel too quick.
My first Katherine Center read and will definitely not be my last!

A fabulous story about love, loss and starting over.
Just that sentence hold a vast set of emotions which the author makes you feel whilst reading this book.
Great talent.

Pleasant read, nothing spectacular but a good story about family life and moving on after loss. I generally like Center's books and this one is a sweet offering.

A charming tale of loss and love. Snappy dialogue and well described characters especially the children make this a pleasure to read. A movie based on the book is slated for 2019.

I found this to be a well written heart warming story about love, loss and moving-on.
