The Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand is the perfect summer read. But, of course we can expect nothing less from Elin Hilderbrand. Loved all the characters in the novel including Grace, the ghost of the hotel. There is so much background about the characters that you cannot help but bond with the characters. A fun summer read that is expected from HIlderbrand.

Another win for Elin. I loved the twist with the ghost narrator, which I was initially skeptical of. The characters are so well thought out,and the narration changes believably between each of them. I was so excited to find out who the hotel critic was. Great twist!
The Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand was a fun summer read. The book follows long time islander Lizbet, and her hotel staff during their first summer in business. I loved getting to know the characters in the book. Following their lives and what was going on with them that summer was a great escape. I could have done without the ghost though. I just found it a bit strange. I loved the little twist at the end and it would be fun to revisit these characters so other time. Although, this is not my favorite work by this author, I did enjoy it.
Elin Hilderbrand releases another fascinating read about the happenings on the island of Nantucket. Her description of the island and the character's environment make the reader want to book a trip to Nantucket so they can eat at the restaurants and stay at the Nantucket Hotel. The characters were believable but not as well drawn as in her previous books. There were quite a few characters to keep track of so it may not have been possible to make each character as detailed or in-depth as in previous novels. My favorite character was Edie. She was sweet without being cloying. I think she's like most people who have one face they show the world and a different hidden side that she keeps to herself. Although she acted sweet, her thoughts show her to be much like other people in how she feels about other people.
I would recommend this book if you are looking for a light novel with a great setting.
It's time for another summer season on Nantucket! Elin Hilderbrand's newest beach read offering is set in a historic hotel, once opulent, left to ruin and disrepair, and now, 100 years later, restored to a new level of modern grandeur. The Hotel Nantucket is being bankrolled by a billionaire Brit chasing an elusive "five key" review from a renowned and secretive travel influencer and run by a cast of local characters who, over the course of the summer, experience heartbreak, love, friendship, drama, and all the ups and downs of hospitality, as well as a century old (mostly) friendly ghost providing a hint of haunting and mystery.
Elin Hilderbrand has her formula down and The Hotel Nantucket, her 28th book, is quintessential Hilderbrand. The shifting points of view keep the pages turning, the setting is where the story shines, while reading one can smell the sea breeze, feel the plush locally loomed throw blankets, and taste all the island's food offerings (my favorite part!) and of course feel as though they're wandering the halls of the luxurious hotel as a guest, staff, or ghost. There's romance, mystery, and atmosphere in abundance - the perfect book for your beach bag!
This book has a little bit of everything. There's some romance, some mystery, some haunting, some friendship, and a little heartbreak as well.
When Lizbet has her heart broken, she winds up moving into hotel management. That's how she finds herself at the Hotel Nantucket.
The hotel has been abandoned and billionaire Xavier has put in lots of time and money to try to restore it and make it a must visit tourist destination.
Will the hotel live up to the hype and earn the coveted "fifth key" from a mysterious online blogger? Only Nantucket knows.
I don't read all of Elin Hilderbrand's novels, but whenever I do, I always enjoy them. For some reason, a lot of people write her novels off as "fluff" but I always find the characters to be nuanced and relatable. Not everyone gets a happy ending. I really liked that this story was set in a grand hotel which such a variety of characters, yet I never got confused trying to keep track of them all. This was a great summer read!
** Thanks to NetGalley, Elin Hilderbrand and Little, Brown and Company for this ARC. The Hotel Nantucket is available now! **
Elin Hilderbrand is the reigning QUEEN of beach reads. A yearlong resident of Nantucket, this is Hilderbrand's 28th novel and it did not disappoint. Atmospheric and charming, this was a vacation in 600 pages.
The Hotel Nantucket, like Hilderbrand's other novels, is told from the perspective of many characters and focuses on the staff (and resident ghost!) of The Hotel Nantucket. Lizbet Keaton has just gone through a bad breakup with her longterm boyfriend, JJ, when she is hired by a London-based billionaire to transform the long-decrepit Hotel Nantucket into a hotel worthy of winning 5 keys from the illustrious Shelly Carpenter, a famous hotel blogger. Lizbet pulls together a staff and begins the daunting task of moving on from an ex and starting a world class hotel.
One of my favorite perspectives in The Hotel Nantucket was that of Grace Hadley, the ghost haunting the hotel. Grace was such a fun way to get insider insight into the going ons of the hotel, and I found it so charming to have a ghost character in a beach read. Grace was lovely and funny and she loves SnapChat (the ghost icon is relatable!).
All in all, this was a great book. 4 stars - I really liked it.
Perfect beach book for a hot summer week! Nantucket is my all time favorite place to spend a summer vacation and this book made me yearn for more time on the island. I found myself reading it until the wee hours of the morning - couldn’t put it down!
I love that I can depend on Elin Hilderbrand to come out with a new novel every summer. I always read them all. I found The Hotel Nantucket to be closer to The Summer of '69 (my favorite) than some of her other novels. I loved that this took place primarily at the hotel but still felt supremely summery and that the romance was not the focus. Hilderbrand's novels continue to be the perfect way to kick off the summer and I can't wait to see what she's got for us next year.
Another easy breezy beach read. Hilderbrand knows her subject and what her readers want, and serves it up with multiple narrators and storylines that seamlessly come together as the book progresses. Her writing is reliable while still managing to tuck-in bits of modern cultural parlance (which only sometimes feels over the top).
A lovely story that I am happy to recommend to anyone looking for a fun, laidback read.
Elin Hilderbrand writes the perfect summer stories and this is no different. Picked this one up on a beach vacation and haven't put it down!
Elin Hilderbrand does it again: another fantastic read! If you are looking for a fabulous beach read, you can always count on Hilderbrand. I have read many of her books and truly enjoyed this one more than some others. Something different in this story was the character Grace, the ghost inhabiting the Hotel Nantucket. I enjoyed her story and the mischievous part she played in the story as she rooted for the hotel's success. The main character, Lizbet, is rebuilding her personal and professional lives after the devastating end to what she thought was her forever romantic relationship. There are a few characters here who are rebuilding their lives while building, what they hope to be not only a new Nantucket business, but a successful travel location for the masses. Don't skip this one, The Hotel Nantucket is a gem!

Great summer read by Hilderbrand! Yet again, a little bit of a different feel from her other novels, but enjoyable all the same! Loved the addition of the "real" Blue Book" at the end.
That was a fun book! I look forward to summer time now because of Erin’s books. They’re the perfect things to get you set and ready.
I loved all the characters in this! They all had so much going on and were developed perfectly! Including our guest that no one knew about; it was random but it was great to learn about the development of her character.
Fans of Elin will love her new book, The Hotel Nantucket. Characters are delightful and will give you a trip down memory lane with Blue Bistro connections.
I was excited for this book, As I have heard many great reviews of how wonderful this book is. I was concerned with the slow start to the book.. It took me to Chapter 4 to actually get into the story. I'm glad I stuck with it! I greatly enjoyed the story. The characters were written. I could picture them as I was reading about them. I feel like i know the Island of Nantucket, without having ever been there. Elin does great job of portraying her home
This was another enjoyable summer in Nantucket with Elin Hilderbrand. This took romance, a strong female leader, and a ghost. I would love to visit a hotel like the Hotel Nantucket.
Lizbet is hired as the General Manager to pull together a successful first season at the refurbished Hotel Nantucket with a staff of misfits. The goal is to receive a 5-Key rating from a famous hotel blogger.
I really enjoyed the background stories of the various characters and storylines. It was a perfect summer read and the diverse characters.
I also was given the audiobook. I enjoyed the narration by Erin Bennett and felt like she did a good job bring the story to life.
Thank you to @netgalley @littlebrown and @hachetteaudio for a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Elin has done it again! Hotel Nantucket is a classic Elin- beautiful Nantucket summer novel, likable characters and and great story. I admit I was hesitant about one of the rotating perspectives being a ghost that haunts the Hotel Nantucket. Elin's last novel, Golden Girl, also featured a ghost main character and it didn't really hit. But this surprisingly did! I (Still very surprised a liked the ghost character). Right away, readers are sucked into the storyline of the reconstructed Hotel and Lizbeth, the newly-appointed manager desperate to have a fresh start in her career and personal life.
While I am admittedly a biased because I am already a big-Elin Hildebrand fan, Hotel Nantucket was sweet, intriguing and a perfect escape.
Elin Hilderbrand makes you want to travel, and experience all the things Nantucket has to offer. I'm actually looking it up right now and know it would be the best vacation spot!
The Hotel Nantucket is filled with lots of characters , many of whom I disliked right from the beginning. Told from several POV's, I really gravitated towards Lizbet, Edie and Grace - the ghost "haunting" the doomed hotel. The characters become so intertwined, that I just want to keep reading to find out how it ends.
Super easy read, perfect for the beach or back deck.
