It wouldn't feel like summer without a new Elin Hilderbrand. This one does not disappoint. It has all the ingredients of a typical Hilderbrand - a love story, overcoming odds, a well written story that transports you to Nantucket. Unexpectedly however, one of the main characters in this one is a ghost. I am not typically a fan of anything like this, but with Hilderbrand's masterfully writing, it adds whimsy and intrigue to the novel.

The Hotel Nantucket is everything I love in an Elin Hildebrand book! Romance, mystery, salt and sand, seafood, broken hearts and true love!

As usual, her characters were all well developed and I literally could imagine myself in the hotel! Honestly, I wished I could book a room!

For those who are fans of this author, they will love the setting, stories and characters in this book!

5 KEYS!

BOOK REVIEW
The Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand

I have previously only read The Winter Street series with my book club… but I couldn’t resist this perfect summer read for my 4th of July weekend. This one definitely had me intrigued because of the ghost story background in the book!

Synopsis: Fresh off a bad breakup with a longtime boyfriend, Nantucket sweetheart Lizbet Keaton is desperately seeking a second act. When she’s named the new general manager of the Hotel Nantucket, a once Gilded Age gem turned abandoned eyesore, she hopes that her local expertise and charismatic staff can win the favor of their new London billionaire owner, Xavier Darling, as well as that of Shelly Carpenter, the wildly popular Instagram hotel reviewer. And while the Hotel Nantucket appears to be a blissful paradise, complete with a celebrity chef-run restaurant and an idyllic wellness center, there’s a lot of drama behind closed doors. The staff (and guests) have complicated pasts, and the hotel can’t seem to overcome the bad reputation it earned in 1922 when a tragic fire killed nineteen-year-old chambermaid Grace Hadley. With Grace gleefully haunting the halls, a staff harboring all kinds of secrets, and Lizbet’s own romantic uncertainty, is the Hotel Nantucket destined for success or doom?

If you know anything about me… my PNW self has always been obsessed with everything Nantucket, cape cod, Martha’s Vineyard and I’m automatically going to love any book set in these places. I loved the characters, I loved the whodunnit and secrets each character had, and Elin did an amazing job keeping the ghost aspect of this book light. I felt transported to Nantucket, and I feel like each characters arc was completed.

I have no complaints! 5 stars. Pick this up for a perfect beach read.🖤 thank you NetGalley & the publisher for the eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Elin Hilderbrand is the queen of the beach read, and The Hotel Nantucket is no exception. This was the perfect, escapist story to dive into while I sat by the pool for a week. I enjoyed reading from the perspectives of multiple characters, especially morally ambiguous antagonist Alessandra and sassy resident hotel ghost Grace. Main character Lizbet Keaton was also just complex enough to be interesting but still keep the story light enough to breeze through on vacation. This is a great book to add to your summer TBR.

I can’t believe that this is my first Elin Hilderbrand novel. Where have I been?

The Hotel Nantucket has transformed over the years from a dazzling gem to a budget friendly hotel, and finally, now, to the most pristine hotel you will ever step foot in. Unfortunately for guests, the hotel is haunted by the ghost of young Grace. Grace was the mistress of the original hotels owner and he kept her locked away. His wife found out and set the hotel on fire, killing young Grace. All Grace wants is for someone to notice her – but even Grace can’t help but fall in love with the new hotel. Lizbet is appointed general manager after breaking up with her longtime chef boyfriend. She sets off on a quest to obtain a 5 key review from a mysterious famous blogger to appease the wealthy owner Xavier. This blogger has never given a perfect score before, but Lizbet is determined. Will she be able to pull off the seemingly unobtainable feat?

I loved the characters in this book, they were relatable and well developed. I especially like the inclusion of the blue book at the end of the novel! This book is the perfect summer read (if you don’t want a thriller!). I gave it 5/5 stars. Special thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my digital published copy in exchange for an honest review.

It's not summer until we have a new Elin Hilderbrand novel! As a long time fan of Hilderbrand's and the idyllic setting of Nantucket, I was thrilled when I received an early copy of The Hotel Nantucket. I love how with this book and Golden Girl, Elin seems to be going down a new path with dead characters being more involved. It certainly puts a twist on your classic beach read and keeps things exciting. I loved the supernatural aspects and I loved Grace, I understand why some readers may be hesitant towards this aspect of it but I really feel like if they give it a chance, they will love it as well. If you're looking for a book to devour in one day on the beach, this is it!

This was (somehow) my first Elin Hilderbrand read and now I'm obsessed! Do I need to go back and read her entire backlist? This book just encapsulated the feelings of summer in the best way and definitely contributed to my deep (unrealistic) need for a beach house.

The Hotel Nantucket, Hilderbrand's 28th novel, surrounds a crumbling hotel that gets rescued by billionaire Xavier Darling. Xavier hires local Lizbet Keaton to get the hotel up and running and impress an important Instagram influencer. Oh, and the ghost of a chambermaid causes mischief.

This book has been getting a lot of buzz, and I was happy to find it lived up to the hype! Intrepid Lizbet leads the charge of a charming and entertaining cast of characters, all while dealing with a breakup and a potential new romance. This was one of my favorites of the summer!

It’s not summer without a new Hilderbrand novel! Her books are the perfect escapism beach reads and I’m glad I got to read the majority of this one on vacation!

The Hotel Nantucket has been a Nantucket eyesore until it’s finally renovated by London billionaire Xavier Darling. Lizbet Keaton is a Nantucket local looking for a fresh start after her recent breakup. When she’s hired as the general manager of the new luxurious hotel, she’ll put together her own staff and do anything for the hotel to succeed.

I love getting to escape to Nantucket once a year with Elin and her cast of characters. This book has a ghost as one of the main characters, which I wasn’t sure about but it ended up really working for me. I’ve always been interested in the hotel industry so it was great getting some of the ins and outs of the business. I know fans of Elin’s other books are going to love this one!

At the end of this book, Elin includes her own Nantucket travel guide that I hope I’ll get to use one day soon!

Thanks to Little, Brown and Company, the author, and NetGalley for the free gifted copy in exchange for an honest review.

I just love the way Elin Hilderbrand writes a book, the intense descriptions truly make you feel like you are in Nantucket.

I love how in-depth all of her stories are with so many different characters and plots going on but still paying such great attention to detail to make you feel fully emerged into the story.

Along with most of her books, this one comes with those little surprise twists that you don’t see coming. I will continue to pick up Elin's books every summer and am always trying to make my way through her backlist of books that I haven’t read.

It wouldn’t be summer without an Elin Hilderbrand book transporting you to the island of Nantucket. This book seemed to have several unlikeable characters, and after reading some of the pre-reviews, I was afraid I wouldn’t like the addition of a ghost to this novel especially after the last novel involving a ghost as well. But, I really enjoyed that addition to this book.

The best thing about Elin’s writing is how she drops you right into a scene with her descriptions, it is like you can feel the sea air, and smell the delicious food and take in the sights and sounds of town.

I can’t wait to use Elin’s little blue book at the end of the novel to plan a trip to Nantucket, because the location is certainly on the bucket list.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this copy for my honest review.

It’s not really summer without an Elin Hildebrand novel. This one was lovely for the most part but could’ve lost a character or plot line along the way. A little crowded.

Thank you NetGalley and Little, Brown and Company for this copy for my honest review.

This was not my favorite novel of this author.

The concept of Lizbet remodeling this property and making it into a 5-key hotel was definitely intriguing. This was the best part of the whole story. The description of the works and the completion of the upgrades were lost with the minimal staffing and the caliber of clients that stayed at the hotel.

Grace was my favorite character but I kept waiting for more exciting events with her escapades.

Typically, I read Hilderbrand in less than 2 days, this book took me a month to complete. I dreaded having to complete this in order to right an honest review.

I absolutely loved everything about this book!

Elin Hilderbrand really knows how to make Nantucket come to life in her books and that was no different in The Hotel Nantucket. This took on a little twist from her other books with the hotel being "haunted". I loved ALL of the characters (okay maybe not all - looking at you Alessandra) and I feel like they were well developed, and although there were a lot of them it was not hard to keep track of them.

I felt like I was actually at the hotel and I could picture the hustle and bustle that goes on behind the scenes. There was a love story, a feel good underdog story, family, friends, ghosts, and redemption.

5 stars would definitely recommend!

Elin Hildebrand is one of my favorite authors to read during the summer season. Her stories are always so atmosphere and I love the beach setting. The writing is simplistic but enjoyable. If you need a beach escape than this one is for you! Reading a Hilderbrand has become a summer tradition for me. She has a way with her writing that makes you feel like you are right in whatever beach town she is writing about. Hotel Nantucket was a fun character driven story. Sexy chef romances, some scandalous affairs, characters full of flaws and a ghost haunting this hotel keep this story moving. This is a great beach read and a total page turner.

I've read quite a few books by Elin Hilderbrand so I thought I knew what I was in for with this one.

The Hotels Nantucket lived up to all that we know and love with Hilderbrand's novels but it ended up being so much more!

I loved the classic elements that EH writes about of course: East Coast living, strong main female character who has to overcome some emotional obstacle, a difficult yet meaningful romance. This story kept me so intrigued with other components too such as a bit of suspense and a kind of otherworldly, supernatural "magic." #IYKYK

I laughed outloud. I cried outloud. This was a nice adventure that reminds the reader of the breadth of emotions that books can be experienced whilst reading!

Highly recommend to fans of Elin Hilderbrand and newbies alike! If you haven't read Elin's work before, it's like a cross between the classic semi-nautical themed writing of Nicholas Sparks with the more modern edge found in work by authors such as Emily Henry's, IMHO.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an advance copy of this ebook for review!

Elin Hilderbrand never disappoints in the "summer beach read" category! The Hotel Nantucket sounds like the perfect place to stay....all white linens and crystal blue pools and a hotel bar that is not serving up your typical terrible hotel food. I always enjoy reading Hildebrand's books during summer vacation!

It wouldn't be summer reading without a new Elin Hildebrand book. Full of drama and a ghost. I would love to visit all of the places mentioned in the book in Nantucket.
