Thank you to Netgalley and Little, Brown and Company for this advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.
After Lizbet Keaton and her boyfriend break up, she becomes the general manager of a brand new hotel in Nantucket. She is in charge of building the hotel from the ground up and making it a 5 star (or Key) resort. The hotel is known in the town for the ghost that is in the building, Grace Hadley. Grace wants someone in the hotel to look into her story and find out the real reason that she died in the hotel. The team Lizbet chooses to run the hotel is a bit inexperienced, but learns quickly there is lots to learn about how to run a hotel.
What I liked:
*I loved the dynamics of the team! I loved how they all had their own issues or growth areas, but they all worked well together.
*I thought Lizbet seemed so real! Elin did a great job of describing the stresses, emotions, and love that Lizbet felt for the team members and the hotel.
*This made me want to visit Nantucket. I loved that the author added a section at the end for the reader to know all about important places and things to do in Nantucket.
*This book felt like a mini-vacation. It had playlists, it was set in 2022, and it captivated me while reading.
This is a great summer read!
A great book for summer reading. The characters are likeable and interesting. It's fun getting to learn all of their stories. A must read for any beach vacation.
This was such an enjoyable read. Nantucket is a place that I have dreamed of visiting for years, since discovering the wonders on Elin Hilderbrand novels. This novels adds to the lushness that is Nantucket by creating a hotel that is top-notch. This book was just such an enjoyable poolside rad.
My one teeny, tiny complaint is that there are just sooo many characters in this novel. It was difficult keeping track of whoβs who in the story.
Other than that small complaint, this was so wonderful. I canβt wait to see what comes next.

ππππππππ: the hotel nantucket is rebuilding after a tragic fire. theyβre on the quest to build a hotel and staff so great theyβll be able to earn 5 βkeysβ from a prestigious hotel blogger/reviewer (which has never been done before).
ππππππππ: a classic fun summer read from elin hilderbrand with a little mysterious twist to it. i absolutely adored all of the characters in this book - and wow were there a lot of them! it was a little hard to keep track of at first but once i learned about each character and their stories i was so invested in their successes. i also loved feeling like i was right in nantucket the whole time. definitely recommend - especially if you like to vacation on nantucket or want to vacation there one day!
ππππππ: i really liked it!
special thank you to netgalley, elin hilderbrand & little brown and company for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Perfect summer read!! Picturesque setting, likable characters, and an intriguing storyline. I found it to be a tad long at times, but overall an enjoyable read!
This was such a fun book to read and great for summer! I enjoyed the summer vibes and all the characters were fun and witty. I loved getting to know everyone at the hotel and learn their stories.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for a copy to honestly review.
Another great summer read by the queen of beach reads, Elin Hilderbrand. This is the perfect book for relaxing on the porch or the beach! I loved the main character, Lizbet and the struggles she faces as she starts this new job and under pressure to make the hotel a success. As the book moves along, Hilderbrand introduces us to a whole cast of characters that surround Hotel Nantucket from ghosts to guests to bellhops. I loved seeing the progress each one makes by the end of the summer and the hope they have. Read this if you need a light-hearted novel and get swept away to Nantucket!
I love this author and how she draws me in to the characters and landscape of Nantucket. I enjoyed the mystery of multiple characters and the many surprises in the second half of the book! The only thing I didnβt like was what happened to Lulu! Youβll find out when you read it.
I loved this story! I am a huge Hilderbrand fan and though I have not read all of her books, I loved starting the summer with this novel and I look forward to read more of her work. The Hotel Nantucket is a captivating story with very likeable characters!! I recommend this novel to anyone who is looking for a light summer read with an interesting mystery mixed in!
Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to review this book!
I devoured this book! I have read every single one of Elin Hildebrand's books, so I notice when she goes a bit off course in regards to the structure. This is a wonderful story about a centrally located inn on Nantucket, but it also happens to house a ghost who gives us the real insight as to what is happening in the hotel. I had doubts, but I ended up loving it more than any of her other books.
I just finished Elin Hilderbrand's newest novel, The Hotel Nantucket. I was debating, four stars vs five stars. As I read the ending, I found myself hopeful for more from Grace, Lizbet and the whole hotel crew. That has to mean it deserves five stars!!
When I read the book's description and learned that a ghost who resides in the hotel is one of the characters, I was afraid this book would be a little bit corny or weird. But Elin Hilderbrand has created a ghost like no other, a caring character who looks over the hotel employees and residents and only wants justice for her memory.
As usual for an Elin Hilderbrand book, The Hotel Nantucket includes a great cast of characters, some who readers know from the author's previous novels. Hilderbrand also includes her personal "Blue Book," suggestions for her Nantucket favorites. I like that she frequently refers to her other novels, or which restaurants or shops were inspiration for ones created in her novels.
So many thanks to NetGalley, Little, Brown & Company, and the author for a free e-book of The Hotel Nantucket in exchange for my honest opinion.

Xavier Darling, a London billionaire, decides to buy a run-down hotel on the idyllic island of Nantucket. He turns the desolate hotel into the grand Hotel Nantucket, which he hopes will attract amazing guests, including travel blogger, Shelly Carpenter. If Shelley features it on her blog and gives it the highest rating, The Hotel Nantucket will be sure to succeed. Managing the hotel is Lizbet Keaton, who is looking to start over at this prestigious job and make a name for herself without her ex-boyfriend's help as they previously ran The Deck. He cheated on her, so Lizbet can't wait to turn this hotel around by hiring all the best in customer service. She puts together a team of extraordinary employees, each complete with their own backstory and some with hefty baggage. Some notable secondary characters are Chad, a rich kid working as a maid this summer.....what's he hiding? Then there's Alessandra, the icy front desk manager; Zeke, the charismatic bellman; Mario, the gorgeous and illustrious chef; and let's not forget Grace, the ghost. Grace is such a captivating character as she died back at the hotel in 1922 in a suspicious fire. This casts of characters come together with such a fun setting in The Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand; this novel proves to be her most lighthearted beach read yet.
I normally don't like novels that include too many characters' points of view, but Hilderbrand makes it work. Each plot line is juicier than the other, which definitely kept me flipping the pages. I will say I was rooting for Lizbet the most as she is the underdog manager trying to overcome her past and jerk ex-boyfriend. I really enjoyed her coming into her own in The Hotel Nantucket and watching her transform the hotel. I also was drawn to Alessandra's plot line, even though I didn't agree with her. It made for a very entertaining read as she is a femme fatale and pretty much uses guys to get what she wants. Sometimes it backfires on her though, but boy, was I really interested in her story and where it was going. I am glad she redeems herself by the novel's end. I also liked Magda, head of housekeeping, and there were so many more captivating subplots that came together that made for an interesting (and very soapy!) hotel. The entire time I was keeping an eye out for the elusive Shelly Carpenter, the blogger who they were hoping would review The Hotel Nantucket, as she often is incognito. I was also wondering what Grace's next move would be as she was hoping someone would find out the truth as to what happened at the hotel fire in 1922.
Fans of Hilderbrand can expect her usual romantic plot lines, descriptions of mouthwatering dinners, and gorgeous Nantucket locations. Nobody does Nantucket better than Hilderbrand and what's even better is Hilderbrand's own "Blue Book" at the end of the novel featuring all her favorite Nantucket haunts and how they relate to her novels. It really had me dreaming of a trip to Nantucket and a visit to The Chicken Box.
What I liked most about The Hotel Nantucket is Hilderbrand's tone throughout the novel. While I loved 28 Summers and Golden Girl, it could be heavy at times. The Hotel Nantucket wasn't this way in the least. It was so much damn fun and it was lighthearted throughout. That is just what I needed this summer, am I right?
So, are you a fan of Elin Hilderbrand? Have you read The Hotel Nantucket? Is it on your TBR list? Let me know in the comments below.
The Hotel Nantucket is the most recent summer read by Elin Hilderbrand. As always, this story took the reader on a tour of Nantucket, while getting to know new characters, as well as catching glimpses of past favorites on the island.
This story centers around the opening of The Hotel Nantucket, led by general manager Lizbet Keaton. Not only is she responsible for staffing the hotel, but there is a high standard of becoming the best hotel to be reviewed by a social media reviewer and hotel blogger, Shelly Carpenter. In the midst of opening and hoping for a visit from Shelly, romances blossom, hotel guests wreak havoc (or bring true joy to the staff, such as the children of long-stay guest Kimber), and the story of ghostly encounters emerge.
Overall, I enjoyed reading The Hotel Nantucket and getting to know the cast of characters that were brought to life by Elin Hilderbrand. I didn't feel as connected to these characters as I normally do in other novels, but I still enjoyed the overall story immensely.
Consider me checked IN! So close to home, this one gave me all the feels πΒ the perfect go to beach read with a little mysterious twist! I loved how each employee is introduced with their own background story during their interview with Lizbet, GM, and I absolutely loved Graceβs viewpoint throughout the story!Β The entire staff of the Hotel Nantucket meshes so well together and are exactly the group youβd want taking care of you while on vacation. I would LOVE to get my hands on one of those Blue Books π My fellow Cape people (because I know there are a few), this is a must read! I was so tempted to hop on the Hy-Line ferry and finish this on Surfside Beach!
Elin is the master of a summertime read. You can't go wrong with an Alex Touissant reference as well!
This is a unique story about a hotel in Nantucket, its history, and the people who work there.
There was definitely a lot of characters in this one and at times I struggled to remember who was who. I thought some of these stories were very random and because there was so many characters a lot of their stories just ended with no real conclusion or real ending. But maybe that was the point. All and all a great summer read.
Lizbet Keaton is trying to restart her Nantucket life after a breakup. She is hired by an overseas billionaire to renovate and reopen the Hotel Nantucket, which has its own complicated history. The cast of characters weaves a complicated web of storylines that intersect in ways you don't expect, including a ghost that likes to haunt the hotel. Can Lizbet truly start over on a small island where her ex also lives? Can the hotel overcome its history and be a success? Will the ghost be able to find some peace?
This is an easy summer read. There are a lot of characters and I wish we had gotten to know them all a little deeper. This is also not a story that ties up all the loose ends, but it does tie up the most important ones.
Thank you to Little, Brown and Company, NetGalley, and Elin Hilderbrand for this ARC.
Every summer I look forward to Elin's new beachy release and while last year's Golden Girl wasn't my favorite, this year's The Hotel Nantucket makes up for that book, and then some!!Β
This was such a fun read and while I wasn't reading this on the beach, I was transported to Nantucket and I was there!Β I loved the staff of the hotel and mostly everyone that checked in. There were a lot of characters to follow but not to the point that you didn't know who was who and what was going on. I was able to follow the storyline and it just flowed effortlessly.Β Now I know some of you are specticle because there is a ghost in this story, and Grace the ghost was one of my favorite characters. If you're looking for your next beach read, you should definitely pick this one up! I hope everyone loves it as much as I did!
The quintessential summer book! Set on Nantucket during the busy summer season, at the recently elaborately renovated Hotel Nantucket. No expense spared; an exquisite guest experience. I got a behind-the-scenes view at what running a hotel entails. There's a historical aspect, with a ghost haunting the hotel due to a chambermaid being killed in a fire 100 years ago. I was a little skeptical about how the ghost would factor into the story, but I ended up liking the way that she was able to further each of the character's story line. I've never been to Nantucket, but I feel like I know the island after reading this wonderful 'sense of place' novel. Overall I highly recommend this book for a page turner summer book!
The Hotel Nantucket has seen better days when wealthy Londoner Xavier Darling, buys it sight unseen. His goals include earning the first 5 key review by a famous hotel influencer and resuming his relationship with an old girlfriend.
Hired as general manager, Lizbet Keaton has the smarts to hire an incredible if overwhelmingly inexperienced staff who understand the importance of a well run, impressively renovated hotel. Once the hotel opens, the staff, the hotel ghost, and guests become the focus of the story.
Without knowing who the influencer is, the employees cringe over every bad review and learn from their mistakes, all under the watchful eye of Grace the Ghost, who wants some recognition after spending a century in the old hotel.
Delightful, realistic characters, old and new romances, and eccentric guests make for a delightful story that's impossible to put down.
I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review and I'm happy to have had this opportunity.
