I really enjoyed this story! I loved the setting at the hotel. I thought that the characters were really interesting. I loved the changing view points. I always look forward to reading her books.
Another great book by Elin Hilderbrand. You can count on this author to give you a great beach read and make you want to visit Nantucket. The characters in this book were all distinctly different yet they all bonded over the Nantucket Hotel and striving to get it the best rating possible. I like how all of the characters are quite connected and that there are some surprises within the plot. A great read for a hot summer day!
I love Elin Hilderbrand and this one did not disappoint. The characters were lovable and I loved the setting of a gorgeous hotel on Nantucket. This is beach reading at it's finest. I generally do not like books with any supernatural elements, but I did not mind the ghost in this book at all.
The Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand was a different twist on Hilderbrand's usual beachside books. I really enjoy books by Elin Hilderbrand and look forward to reading her books every summer and this one did not disappoint. With Nantucket as one of the main characters, The Hotel Nantucket will pull you in and intrigue you. The characters are fully fleshed out and the writing is upbeat. I really, really enjoy how Hilderbrand weaves a plot with perfect pacing and sequencing. This is a charming read.
I received a review copy of this book from the author/publisher through NetGalley for my honest review. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.
Have not gotten to this one yet, however, I am very excited because this is going to be my Elin Hilderbrand book of the summer - I read one every year.
I don’t know where I’ve been when it comes to this author. All I can say is I’m glad I’ve started to read her books. I have a lot of catching up to do since The Hotel Nantucket is her 28th book!! This was a light and airy read with a touch of of mystery. I enjoyed all the characters, they felt very relatable. I loved the ending and felt everything turned out exactly how it should. Can’t wait to dive into my next read of hers!
This was my first Elin Hilderbrand book and I am a new fan! Maybe I was extra interested because I come from the hospitality industry, specifically a privately owned, rated resort. I actually felt everything that the staff had to do and all of the interactions they had with guests. I also really loved the haunted hotel aspect. I found it very sweet and endearing. I will definitely be picking up more of Hilderbrand’s books!
Loved this book - perfectly delicious with a beautiful setting and perfect pace. Really enjoyed the characters and twists and turns. Kept me guessing about what was coming next!
I felt like I was in Nantucket while reading this one. I loved the story and how all the employees of the hotel fit into the story. If you have enjoyed Elin’s other books, give you will love this one! If not, this is a good one to start with. I loved the guide to Nantucket at the end. I’m ready to book a trip!
I really enjoyed this read! I love Elin Hilderbrand’s writing and how she can fully immerse you in a location. This book had a lot of characters but she manages to make it work and have you become familiar with all of them. I loved the reveal at the end, even if it was a little predictable. This book makes me want to travel to Nantucket immediately!
As a Elin Hilderbrand lover, I’ve read almost everything she has wrote, this one fell short for me. I wasn’t into it completely like I usually am, and was a bit disappointed when I was done.
What I did love was the plot, and the characters from previous books, which she is wonderful at always adding into her new books. The ghost fell a bit flat for me, and I would have loved to see her “do more” in the story.
Over all not horrible, 3 stars, and I look forward to her newest work!
Elin Hilderbrand is known for her summer reads based in Nantucket and yest again this novel does not disappoint. Readers are transported to the sunny summer months and spirited outdoor patios ready for a fruity drink and some local gossip.
Lizbeth Keaton is looking for a fresh start and as general manager of the newly revamped Hotel Nantucket she is ready to take charge and turn over a new leaf. Filled with a number of summer employees, many who are running from past secrets, the group works together to make the hotel a success and hopefully win the rave review of an important influencer.
The Hotel Nantucket has a dash of romance and a ton of summer fun. Thank you to NetGalley and Little, Brown and Company for a copy of this novel.
This was an ok read where I felt the story and characters were fine and the pacing was a little slow but otherwise it was enjoyable. This book follows the staff of the Hotel Nantucket a newly renovated luxury boutique hotel competing to win the five keys status. Five keys has never been rewarded by the elusive hotel critic but owner of this new boutique hotel makes it his only goal. We follow multiple characters throughout and a few I kept mixing up. In fact I thought two characters were the same person. I also felt the need of the POV of the ghost was not needed. It felt more like a gimmick and it was so infrequent I often caught myself asking who is this again. I will say though this was an easy low stakes read so I could see how some might enjoy it as a beach read. That being said I am interested in picking up more from this author in the future. I would like to thank Netgalley and they publishers for a chance to read this book for an honest review.
One of my favorites by far. Every time I read a book by Ellen, I am this much closer to booking a trip to Nantucket. This was no exception. I’ll do without a ghost though. 😜
Is it even spring/summer if you don't read an Elin Hildebrand book? I think not.
Another good story that takes place in Nantucket and a hotel that is being refurbished to its former glory after a devastating fire in 1922. The ghost of one of the guest still hangs around the hotel looking for answers to her own murder. Twisty mystery and great fun!
Hilderbrand veers a little off track her usual stellar beach read trope with this one, and it is my new EH favorite!
Set in the usual summer-in-Nantucket backdrop, the old, dilapidated Hotel Nantucket has been bought and refurbished by a billionaire hoping to impress two women. Lizbet, who managed a favorite island bar/restaurant with her boyfriend begs for the job as manager in order to reframe her future after the ugly breakup with said boyfriend. Lizbet knows she has it in her and is eager to use this opportunity to "build the new," and she isn't even threatened by the rumored ghost of Grace, the maid who supposedly died in a fire before the hotel was renovated.
I wasn't sure how I would like the addition of a ghost to a beach read, but Hilderbrand pulled if off well. Grace as a likable character as were the others and each storyline was skillfully interwoven and tied into a great ending. I only give 5's on book reviews when I think I will read the book a second time. I know I will be in the mood to read this one again at some point!
Hilderbrand does it again! She's just such a good writer and her books are a salve and a much needed break from reality. I appreciate that she's been playing with the genre. This one includes visits from a few characters in past novels as well as a ghost. But somehow, it's not hokey!
I fell in love with these characters. Hilderbrand had the ability to take ordinary days and make them magical. I am entertained by the little moments of magic in the books.
The only complaint I have of this book is the second person story telling that encroaches on the rest of the great story.
Another great book from Elin Hilderbrand. I loved the mystery feel of this story mixed with some romance. The variety of characters kept the plot moving along and uncovering pieces of their past was so interesting! The atmosphere Hilderbrand creates makes you feel like you're reading this book on a Nantucket beach - highly recommend!
One day, maybe, I'll be in the mood to read this or one of Elin Hilderbrand's 9000 books, but I just cannot finish it. Too summery and beach ready for me. I read the first 10%, which was pleasant, but it's just not my taste I fear. No shade to those who enjoy her!! One day I'll get there!!
