After reading The Hotel Nantucket, I am ready to pack my bags and head to the island for some serious relaxation. Set in a fictional hotel which is inspired by the actual Nantucket Hotel, the novel is a soap opera crossed with a mystery, with a heaping dose of romance on top. Lisbet Keaton has been hired as the general manager at the refurbished hotel, and as she hires the cast of characters to bring the building back to life, she begins to recognize the overwhelming task ahead of her, as well as the possibility that the space houses a ghost. Each character has a secret past, and the mysterious new owner has tasked them with a near impossible challenge.
I loved just about everything about the story, and I was intrigued to discover what secrets the cast of interesting characters were hiding. Lisbet is a great lead character, I could empathize with her sense of overwhelm and how she responded to the end of her relationship with JJ. The relationships between the characters evolve over the course of the summer, as they become a top-performing team. The ending is a bit on the sweet, sappy side, but isn't that what makes a good summer beach read?
Elin Hilderbrand includes a tour guide to Nantucket as an epilogue, and she is very thorough in her recommendations for everything from restaurants to shopping, and even what barre class she attends, complete with in which of her books these locales made an appearance. I will definitely keep this guide handy for if/when I make the trip!
Thank you to Netgalley, Little, Brown and Company and the author for the opportunity to read an e-ARC of The Hotel Nantucket. The opinions in this review are my own.
A thoroughly captivating novel that is so enjoyable to read. There is so much happening during the first summer of the Hotel Nantucket-secrets, romance, a ghost. The lives, wishes, and desires of the staff and of guests play out over the summer as the story unfolds and draws you in with delight.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thank you to the publisher and the author for providing me with an ARC through NetGalley!
I read this book while laying on the beach in Florida and it was absolutely perfect. I loved the beach vibes it evoked. The story revolves around Lizbet Keaton, a woman recently scorned by her lover. She is offered the chance to take over a new hotel, purchased by a British billionaire, to work to earn the elusive 5th key from an anonymous but famous instagram hotel reviewer. This is an absolutely addictive beach read-grab a drink and tuck in.
Thanks to NetGalley and Little, Brown and Company for an egalley in exchange for an honest review
Someday I want to visit Elin Hilderbrand's Nantucket, but for now I live vicariously through the lives of the characters that she give us. In her twenty-eighth novel, we meet a variety of characters that are seeking opportunity and redemption at the Hotel Nantucket. Similar to the author's previous novels we have topics of love, friendship, adultery, mystery and in this novel, a wee bit of paranormal as the hotel's resident ghost oversees the events of the Nantucket summer.
Once I begin a Elin Hilderbrand novel, I am unable to physically put it down. So this book traveled from the couch to the bathtub and finally to my bedroom last night. The Hotel Nantucket was certainly a place that I wanted to be.
In addition, we can always count on Hilderbrand that many characters from her previous novels will cross paths with her current cast of characters or at least be mentioned throughout the novel. I liked seeing where many of those characters are in their lives. I also really enjoyed the author's own blue book of tourism recommendations for those who wish to visit Nantucket.
I highly recommend adding this novel to your summer reading list.

I had no idea what to expect going into The Hotel Nantucket, other than a typical Elin Hilderbrand Nantucket storyline. I was very pleasantly surprised and found myself invested in the story and the characters.
A ghost, a bit of mystery, some drama and a touch of romance make The Hotel Nantucket a place worth visiting!
I have no idea how Elin Hilderbrand keeps doing it, but The Hotel Nantucket is yet another fresh, fun, perfect summer read. It made me fall in love with Nantucket -- and want to immediately start planning a trip. Don't miss the Blue Book at the end!
I love Elin’s books! This one is no exception. It was different than previous books I think but I loved the twists in it. Scandals. Drama. Ghosts. I loved how it all flowed together. The character build was great too. I loved getting to know each character and how they came to love the hotel and became family. The ghost seemed misplaced at first but then quickly came to realize if the ghost wasn’t part of the story then there wouldn’t have been a story at all. Really enjoyed this one! Thank you netgally for the early copy.
Hotel Nantucket is classic Elin: a picturesque island, endless foodgasms, someone dead or dying, affairs and big secrets. This one had a ghost tossed in and the characters were mostly likable, quirky and fun though I thought Xavier was a jerk through the entire book. I enjoyed the story about running a hotel, there's also a character from Blue Bistro that makes an appearance but then I had two problems. One: it started to feel like Elin has a checklist of how to be hip and socially acceptable in 2022. The first time "eleventy billions dollars" was used it cute but by the third time I was rolling my eyes. Same with the unless references to Venmo and Snapchat. She also checked off "masculine toxicity, white privilege, wokeness, and slut shaming." It all felt very forced. Two: the success of the hotel is based on one Instagram blogger who they strive to impress all summer and in the end they are awarded the 5 keys but then the owner sells anyway, it's bought by Chad's father would wouldn't even admit his son worked there and then we find out Shelly the blogger had been staying at the hotel all summer, having an affair with a staffer who ended up stealing customers credit card numbers and she still gave the hotel the best rating there is??? None of it made any sense. Halfway through it was close to a 4 star read for me but in the end it was more like 2.5.

The book of the summer! I have been a Elin Hilderbrand fan for some time now and The Hotel Nantucket is now added to my list of favourite summer reads! A story filled with wonderful characters, a glorious setting, and a dynamic plot. If there is one book to pack for vacation - this is it!
Thank you to Little Brown Books and NetGalley.
As per usual, Elin Hilderbrand positively sparkles in The Hotel Nantucket. This read transports you to Nantucket where a rundown hotel has been renovated to the nines by a wealthy billionaire. The enchanting cast of characters that are part of the hotel (both are guests and staff) serve as the multiple points of view throughout the story. The ultimate summer read, Hilderbrand provides luscious details specifically to Nantucket that will transport you there and exude her love and enchantment with the island. Rich with character development, plot, and amazing escape-- The Hotel Nantucket is the ultimate summer read and genuinely one of Elin Hilderbrand's best.
Enormous thanks to Elin Hilderbrand, NetGalley and Little, Brown and Company for the absolute honor of an advance review copy.
As it is with all Elin Hilderbrand books, you get many very interesting characters and often characters from other books make guest or lead appearances her latest novel. This time however, my overall favorite Character and storyline was definitely, "Grace, the ghost"!
Lots of intertwined story plots and as always the books is featured in Nantucket. We have multiple billionaires, one of which is from and center, one who you would never think of and one that finally does right by his son.
Enjoyed Lizbeths storyline of running the hotel as well as her new love story. Lots of strong female characters as well.
Would def recommend as a light summer beach read.
Overall rating 4.0
Thank you for my free pre release copy of the book in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
As with my previous experiences, I really enjoy Elin Hilderbrand's writing - her level of detail, her fleshed out characters, and her vivid setting. This was fun because in addition to the many points of view and the "people of Nantucket" voice, there was also the POV of a ghost haunting the hotel. Nothing to the point where this ventures into scifi/fantasy, you just kind of accept that the alleged ghost does exist and move on. Lots of intertwining lives and problems. Again, there is *always* cheating in her books, but I would say it was dealt with a lot less casually/there were generally consequences this time around.
I definitely plan to read from her again in the future, and might even pick up some of her backlist titles if I'm looking for something else summery and Nantuckety.
It was early spring and very rainy where I live. I requested Elin’s new book Hotel Nantucket because I needed to be transported to a vacation spot. Hotel Nantucket did not disappoint. I was instantly transported to this glamorous new hotel on the island. The storyline had surprises that kept the reader intrigued and longing to know the characters deep dark secrets. There is a fictitious historical story line that weaves beautifully into the story. You can’t help but to love every character and their unique offerings to the hotel. As if the book couldn’t get any better, Elin included a Nantucket travel guide at the end of all her favorite spots. I will definitely be referencing that next time I visit the island.
I used to be an avid Elin Hilderbrand fan and so I was beyond excited to pick this one up! Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. It felt a little like drinking from the fire hose in the beginning - so many people firing so many thought and stories at me in a way that left me feeling overwhelmed and disconnected from all of them. There were moments where my interest felt piqued and I wanted to learn more about the hotel. But in the end, I read to feel a connection to characters and to live vicariously through their stories. This was less a story about the characters and more a story about the Hotel itself and I felt like I never was able to settle into it. Ultimately, it wasn't what I was looking for and was a DNF for me.
I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to read and review.
Thank you Netgalley and Little, Brown and company for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Well now that I’ve read Elins new book, summer has officially begun. I love how all her books transport your right back to the beautiful Island of Nantucket.
The Hotel Nantucket was a fabulous hotel until a fire destroyed it and killed a young women, Grace. After being run down, the hotel is purchased by a billionaire from London who fully restores it. Lizbet is the new manager, and she hires a staff to try to bring it back to all its glory. A great story with developing characters and even a little ghost plot thrown in! I loved this book and would recommend!
Elin Hildebrand is such a talented author, all of her books are the perfect summer read! This book is no different. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review!
Well. summer can officially begin! I've read the latest Elin Hilderbrand novel and I can say she's hit it out of the park once again! The best part of Elin's novels, besides the Nantucket setting, are the cast of characters and this one does not disappoint. I always feel as if I want to be a part of the gang, eating and drinking and going along for the ride. i wasn't sure that I was going to like the ghost aspect, just like I wasn''t sure about the dead mother, Vivi, hovering about in Golden Girl a few years ago, but Elin has such a way of incorporating these characters into endearing parts of the ensemble, that you can't help but embrace them and root for them the whole time.
I loved The Hotel Nantucket, as I've loved all of Elin Hilderbrand's books. They are a must read for me every summer and I highly recommend this one as well as any of her books to anyone looking for a terrific beach read!
The Hotel Nantucket was one of my most anticipated books this year, so I was so grateful to receive an advanced copy. I dug right in and enjoyed becoming once again immersed in the descriptive writing of Elin Hildebrand…I found myself instantly transported to Nantucket Island with it’s beautiful scenery and delicious food and drinks; I was able to relax into the setting as I became acquainted with a mostly new cast of characters. Although, like in most of this author’s books there are some overlapping characters and generational families (which I really enjoy!). This book reminded me of some of this author’s earlier novels, prior to 28 Summers (my all time fave of hers!) and Golden Girl. It’s a sweet story, perfectly paced as the twists and surprises are revealed; and I think I could become further attached to these characters if they appear in another of her future books (please keep writing!).
There is news going around Nantucket that a British billionaire has bought the Hotel Nantucket. The hotel is notorious for being haunted or cursed and nobody has been able to make it successful. Billionaire, Xavier Darling, is determined to make it the best hotel in the world. He buys the hotel and hires a general manager without ever stepping foot on Nantucket. The new manager, Lizbet Keaton, is just getting over a break up and is determined to make this hotel her comeback. She interviews a great group of people to work in the hotel doing various jobs. Each person has their own struggles and part to play. Also, of course, there’s the ghost. Grace Hadley was killed one hundred years ago in the hotel and just wants someone to acknowledge that. All these years, she’s been haunting the various guests and owners in hopes that someone will uncover the truth about her death and set her free. She finally gets her chance. With the hotel in the spotlight and so many new people coming in, will someone ever discover her murder?
I really loved this one. I think it might be my new favorite of hers! Each of the characters’ backstories were so intriguing and they all grew so much during the book. I especially loved Lizbet, Edie, and Chad. They were such wholesome, kind people that I would really like to get to know. While there were some parts that I didn’t really love (the ghost, and the thing with Richie) the rest was so good it makes up for it. As always, I loved the setting. These books make me want to visit Nantucket so bad! The imagery used to describe the hotel was amazing and so descriptive. I felt like I was truly there. I didn’t really see the point in the hotel ghost. I think the book would honestly have been better without the supernatural element, but I still really liked it!
Elin Hilderbrand has a way of sucking you in. She is always my go to when I need an escape. The way she develops her characters is perfect. I always think I’m never going to remember everyone but I always do. I love the way she has so many different story lines in one book and they all make sense in the end.
