Is it even summer without an Elin Hilderbrand book? I ALWAYS looks forward to her books coming out to read in the summertime and am always excited to see what she comes up with next. Her books always feature a fantastic summer town (Nantucket yes!) and have a mix of family/relationships with some twists and turns in there. I know Elin only has a few more to write but I still look forward to them each year. Thank you so much for the opportunity to read and review!

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
💭MY THOUGHTS💭
Let me first start off by saying I am a Elin megafan and giving this rating almost killed me, but I have to be honest and just say this one wasn’t for me. For those of you that like Elin’s drama filled plots, this one does not have much of a plot…at all! Everything revolves around this ghost at the hotel, but that storyline is lacking and doesn’t have a whole lot of depth. As someone who loves character driven novels, this is definitely that kind of novel, but even as a fan of this type of book I still need a little something going on to hold my interest, and the ghost wasn’t doing it for me. There are A LOT of characters, lots of drama with some characters (at times a bit annoying), a little romance (not enough for my liking…I preferred novels like 28 Summers), and the ghost of Grace who has been haunting the hotel for over 100 years. Elin’s last few novels have had a touch of paranormal activity to them. Not sure if this is part of her wanting to try out the trend or do something new?!?! I didn’t mind it in Golden Girl, but in this particular book it seemed clunky. The ghost is also not mentioned for lengths at a time, so it gets lost in the other character’s storylines.
What I did love about the novel is her ability to transport us to Nantucket. Her descriptions of the places, food, people, and overall life on the island always has me wanting to pack my bags and spent the summer there. The best part, in my opinion, is the last 10 percent of the book, where Elin gives you all the hotspots to see and things to do while you are on Nantucket. She gives you the insiders scoop and low down on the places and I thoroughly enjoyed this part of the novel and thought it was a fun addition. If you were going to pick this one up, I would possibly suggest to listen to it with narrator Erin Bennett, who is always fantastic in her narrations!!
Thank you @netgalley and @littlebrown for this advanced reader’s copy in exchange for my thoughts.
Another fantastic summer read by Elin Hilderband! I am so sad thinking we only have a few left. A perfect summer escape as you learn about her dynamic characters throughout their summer at the Nantucket Hotel. Telling all my girlfriends to pick up a copy for their summer holidays.
I absolutely loved this! As a native Cape Codder, it doesn't feel like summer until I read Elin Hilderbrand's newest book. I was so excited to be awarded an ARC by Netgalley of The Hotel Nantucket.
After a massive renovation, the Hotel Nantucket is reopened. The novel follows the lives of the people working there, and the resident ghost named Grace who is watching all of them. She was killed in a fire in 1922, and has been at the hotel since.
I really enjoyed seeing characters from previous books, and thought the behind the scenes relationships and dysfunctions were pretty spot on! I worked at a leading hotel of the world when I first got out of college, and it was a hotbed of hookups, petty dislikes, and yes, long lasting friendships.
I've read almost all of Elin Hilderbrand's novels, but I think this is her best yet.
I loved this book. The author gives such good detailed descriptions of the people and places. I will read anything this author writes.
I love every book by this author. She makes the characters and all of the locations feel so real. I almost think I’ve been to Nantucket.
It’s not summer until I read Elin Hilderbrand’s latest novel, and The Hotel Nantucket definitely does not disappoint.
When I first read the synopsis, I wasn’t sure how I felt about having a ghost as a character but Grace the ghost was fun spirited and added to the story.
The Hotel Nantucket is opening after a massive renovation, and the rumor is that it’s haunted. The hotel had an interesting past including a fire that killed Grace, a chambermaid. This novel follows several of the staff, and also Grace. We soon discover that there are many secrets including the fact that Grace was murdered.
As a bonus, Elin includes a guide to Nantucket in the back which really makes me long to visit Nantucket again.
I really enjoyed The Hotel Nantucket overall although there are some infidelity and LGBTQ themes, albeit not overly prominently, that won’t appeal to everyone, but this one is a really fun summer read.
Thank you for the chance to read this book early! That email made my day, as I am a huge Elin fan. I love to follow her on IG to see her pics and posts. This latest book of hers did not disappoint! It has great characters who really jump off the page. The storyline, while another ghost story, works. The ghost plays into the entire story and adds a fun twist. A must read for any Elin fan.
The Hotel Nantucket is a fun, easy-to-read novel. This book has it all - a beautiful setting (Nantucket Island and the beautiful refurbished Hotel itself), likeable and interesting characters, love stories, a ghost, a mystery, a crime - there is so much going on that this quickly became a can't-put-it-down kind of read. No spoilers - but I have no doubt that this novel will become yet another best seller for Elin Hilderbrand.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you NetGalley for this read! It is the perfect beach or travel read, especially if you’re planning to go to Nantucket.
It was smooth and casual, not rushed, with the drama slowly unfolding and keeping you guessing as to what might happen in the end.
With many stories entwined, the premise is The Hotel Nantucket is haunted and set to reopen for the summer after years of being closed up. With a host of questionable characters all with their own secrets, the hotel is on the quest to eat five keys from a mysterious online hotel reviewer.
I’m ready to book my trip to check it out for myself.
Not really a spoiler but maybe?

The end provides closure for all characters, and provides us with the best blue book guide to all the places to go in Nantucket.
Elin Hilderbrand does it again!! Love her latest novel so much!! The story and their characters will stay with you long after you finish the book. Highly recommend!!
Have you ever been to Nantucket? I went a few years ago and it is so beautiful and picturesque - swipe to see some of my pics from that trip. Every book I read that is set on that beautiful island reminds me of that trip.💗
The Hotel Nantucket is a love letter to this wonderful place - oh, and there’s a story - kind of. The Hotel Nantucket was a rundown hotel with a sordid history until is was purchased and rebuilt by a billionaire investor. As the hotel reopens, we meet the staff, guests and a ghost - and with that, we learn their histories - both good and bad. It’s a romance and mystery but the main character is the beautiful island.🌸
Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day and I sat outside reading this book beside the pool. I flew through the book as I got to know the characters - it’s definitely an easy, breezy book. Will you take anything away from it? Probably not. If you have this one to read, sit out in the sun and pass some time on this island and hopefully, you’ll get to see it in person one day - it’s worth the ferry ride. ⭐️⭐️
Thank you to @netgalley for a copy of this book. This one is available June 14, 2022 - perfect time to escape into a beach read.

Elin Hilderbrand is KNOWN as the cozy beach read queen, so I was very excited to dive into this one.
The Hotel Nantucket is the perfect addition to the Nantucket novels that Hilderbrand is known for. You get all of the elements of a wonderful summer read: quirky, interesting characters, delectable descriptions of food, fun dialogue, and a picturesque setting.
I was almost worried that this would be too similar to her other novels, because she's done such an excellent job making each story unique in the same setting, but the paranormal element in this was just the right touch of unique, and even though I don't typically love paranormal unless it's horror, it just WORKED in this story and added to the whimsy.
This is the perfect story to read while on vacation, but it's also the perfect story to read when you desperately wish you could be on vacation. I've never actually. been to Nantucket, but Elin's writing makes me feel like it's a nostalgic place near and dear to my heart.
I loved the pop culture references, the food descriptions, and the scenes sprinkled throughout that made me giggle the most.
Thank you NetGalley and Little, Brown and Company for a free ARC of this book.
I think this is a perfect beach read, easy and summery. I loved the story surrounding the hotel, its people, and its day-to-day operations. Friendly ghost was a cute and different touch to the story.
The writing was easy, nothing too tricky so my overheated brain could follow the story. I love complex books with a lot of characters, but for some readers, this may be a bad thing.
I loved all the descriptions of the island, food, and hotel. This made me want to book a plane ticket right away. Blue book at the end is phenomenal, and I will absolutely follow it during my vacation there.
To me, this book was a solid 3,5 stars, mostly because I did not care for any of the characters. With so many people in the story, I hoped to connect with at least one of them, but I just couldn't. I struggled to pick the book up simply because I had no desire to find out what next and how would this end. I wish the characters and their baggage were a bit more developed.
Overall, highly recommend this book for vacation and "after work" reading.
I was expecting this to be a perfect beach read and it was… it was more than that though. It has really stayed with me after reading it. This is my favorite one of Hilderbrand’s and I love the way she writes. I feel like this was her most real.
Great pick for your next beach read, just in time for summer 2022. Hilderbrand can really tell a story. I expect to see Facebook posts from visitors to this hotel and especially the Blue Bar! Loved the in-depth telling of the characters and setting, the food, the descriptions of the hotel and the finishing touches that make this a beach read you might choose to read more than once.
Hilderbrand fans will relish spending their summer inside the walls of Hotel Nantucket!
The staff of the newly revitalized Hotel Nantucket make up the perfect cast for a light, summer romance. Lizbet is newly single and heartbroken after finding cheating text messages between her boyfriend of 15 years and their restaurant's wine supplier. When she lands the job as GM of the up-and-coming hotel, she hires what she hopes to be a reliable, hospitable staff.
The shared goal of earning an Instagram travel influencer's elusive "5 Key" rating and the individual pressures in each character's life bond the seemingly dissimilar crew of townies, college students, and others just looking to make a living. Coupled with a live-in ghost who "haunts" the hotel and a Nancy Drew-obsessed child desperate to find her, readers will love getting to know these people.
Hilderbrand gives readers an omniscient perspective of each hotel worker's life, makes this multi-narrator story hard to put down.
A must-read in your summer beach stack!
**I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher, through Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.
I found your summer read, so you don’t have too! Secrets, family, love, and betrayal— but definitely not in that order! This was @elinhilderbrand’s best book in my opinion— yes, even beating out #28Summers! I have never read a book that actually gave me physical chills at the end until this one! I feel like I can completely connect with the characters, the setting, and the drama
Lizbet Keaton is, in my opinion, one of my favorite Elin Hilderbrand heroines I have ever encountered; determined, hardworking, and tough as nails there is no task thrown at her that she can't seem to surmount and this includes making a success of the new, premier boutique hotel on island, The Hotel Nantucket while also navigating so many different elements that would just about any of us curl up in a ball.
A breakup, a fledgling hotel, a staff of people richly fleshed out by HIlderbrand's hand with lives, problems, peccadilloes, and secrets that Lizbet has to navigate, all while trying to get a 5 key rating from the elusive Shelly Carpenter, a hotel reviewer and Instagram influencer who can make or break a property with a single opinion.
Throw in a hot love interest (a throwback from an older Hilderbrand novel that made me scream when I saw his name), a tragedy, a chess prodigy, a girl sleuth, and a ghost (yes, I said a ghost, folks) and you have the BEST beach read of the summer and my #1 read of 2022 hands down.
This is a do not miss summer frolic that deserves an umbrella drink named after it.
HUGE love for The Hotel Nantucket!
Would recommend.
Thank you to @netgalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
5 keys!! My queen Elin has written another one back on Nantucket. The newly renovated Hotel Nantucket is open for their rookie season. The book follows the staff and intertwining stories as they strive to get a 5 key review from an anonymous hotel reviewer on insta (am I the Shelly Carpenter of books? just a few thousand less followers hehe)
I am an Elin stan and am so pleased to be writing my first review for a book of hers on this account. The set up of the story made it seem like they were a long shot at meeting their goal of a 5 key review, but there wasn't a ton of adversity for the staff. I just enjoy spending a summer on Nantucket and the way that food, luxury, and drama is written in the story.
