Somehow this was my first Elin Hilderbrand novel which thrills me because now I hav 27 novels to go backwards and read. Charming, emotional, charismatic characters, a great great sense of place. (I wanted to sleep in the hotel's bed and eat all the food and drink all the cocktails at the Blue Bar). This novel made me fan. Fabulous fun!
I was all in for everything about this book - the hotel, the cast of characters, the ghost... all of it. This felt different than other Hilderbrand books but still just as stellar. And the "Blue Book" of Nantucket spots in the back.... off to book my trip!
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced readers copy.
Elin once again authors a story you can't put down. Her characters come from all backgrounds and make a connection with each reader.
Good book and quick read.

In one sentence: Lizbet Keaton is leading the resurgence of the Hotel Nantucket - can a top-notch staff and a friendly ghost make this a summer to remember?
I've been reading Elin Hilderbrand's books for years now, and I think they've gotten better and better. If you've experienced summer on Cape Cod (or another beach town elsewhere), you know that magical summer feeling, and Hilderbrand delivers it here in The Hotel Nantucket. I loved meeting all the characters in this book - from flirty front desk staff to a child chess prodigy to a party boy turned cleaning staff - they made a great impression. And of course I can't forget Grace the friendly ghost, who made me laugh innumerable times.
If you can't make to Nantucket, the good news is that you can travel there in this book. Definitely pack this one in your beach bag (or read it on the couch with a fun cocktail!) 4.5 stars rounded to 5
Thank you to Little, Brown and Company for providing an ARC on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you to Netgalley for the advance e copy of this book. I love Ms. Hilderbrand's storytelling. This novel does not disappoint. An extremely rich British businessman buys a ramshackle hotel in Nantucket, hires the jilted Lilibet to manage it, and she fills it with a cast of characters who are both island natives and mainlanders. Also in residence is Grace, the ghost, who has been haunting the property for years. The characters are vividly drawn, and I appreciate how they all have both good and bad qualities. The ONLY thing that turns me off in regards to Ms. Hildebrand's prose is the constant name dropping of Nantucket businesses and the use of the pronoun "we" as if the reader is an islander. This strikes me as a bit too "precious", and, in my opinion, detracts from the great storytelling. I also could have done without the travelogue chapter at the end. The story itself can definitely stand alone without these gimmicks. I will keep reading Ms. Hilderbrand's books though!
Elin Hilderbrand has written another wonderful novel based in Nantucket. Her characters in her book are interesting and intense. They come from all walks of life and have hidden pasts and secrets which allows so many plot lines and great stories.I have been reading Elin’s novels for many years and her latest novel does not disappoint and would highly recommend this novel for a great summer read. I was fortunate to get an arc copy from NetGalley of this new novel and it was a joy to read and submit this positive review. Bravo Elin and I look forward to reading your next novel because I know it will be amazing as always.🤗👏🇨🇦🥰👍💐❤️
Thank you Netgalley and thank you to the publisher for the audio and ebook ARCs!
This book was so good. I really loved the Winter in Paradise trilogy but this tops it. This is now my #1 favorite Hilderbrand. I know that people always call books unputdownable or people throw around the phase "I couldn't put it down"....but I really couldn't. I listened to the audiobook by itself at first but found it hard to follow the story with audio only due to there being so many characters. This could be because I am still fairly new to Hilderbrand- this is only my 5th out of her large backlist. I see that other readers have noted that some of the characters are in her other books also. So, it may be easier for someone who has read more of her books to follow along with a lot of the characters right away. Anyway, I started reading along in the ebook and I cannot love this book enough. If you love ghost stories and haunted house stories like I do, you will probably like this book just for that aspect of the story. All Grace's parts were my favorite parts!
(Although -this book is not horror by any means.) The other thing about this book is that it reads like a gossip column, which was SO much fun. If you like reading about celebrity or small town gossip, rich people drama, a little (but not all encompassing) romance, luxury hotels and detailed descriptions of opulent decorating thereof, or as I mentioned earlier- non scary/historical type ghost stories- I am sure that you will like this book!
Great narration on the audiobook also.
I just finished this book this morning and I have a book hangover. Will need to pick up more Hilderbrand ASAP. And I CANNOT WAIT to get my physical copy of this book.

Hmmm summer is right around the corner and it is time for “The queen of beach reads” to release a new story. I am a big Elin Hilderbrand fan; this is #22 for me and I am so ready to be transported to Nantucket.
After a fire in 1922 that killed Grace Hadley a young chambermaid, The Hotel Nantucket quickly made a quick nose dive as one the elite hotels on the island. Now, billionaire Xavier Darling wants to bring the hotel back to its glory and erase the hotel’s bad reputation. He is having some difficulties. Grace Hadley was the young chambermaid who died in that fire, she is now haunting the hotel as she believes she was murdered and won’t rest until that fact is acknowledged.
We EH readers have expectations from recurring reads:
SO immediately my reaction is …..What? This story is not written in typical Hilderbrand style of chapters with repeated POVs one of which includes Nantucket!
* In this case there are actual chapter numbers with titles; however, “The Cobblestone Telegraph” has
recurring chapters.
* We do have the signature Hilderbrand playlist of old and/or new songs!
* Love that characters from past stories made an appearance ~ Fast Eddie in his Porsche Cayenne and
Panama hat and the mention of Fiona Kemp who was the chef at “The Blue Bistro.
~I had a big smile on my face when it was mention that a local author was sad about sending her son off to college wearing one of his t-shirts. I am sure the t-shirt had a Gamecock on it. We EH fans know that Maxx recently graduated from the University of South Carolina!
In this story we have Wanda Marsh an eight-year-old Nancy Drew fan who writes an article about Grace Hadley’s ghost living in the Hotel’s fourth floor closet. The article is printed the “The Cobblestone Telegraph”; The Hotel Nantucket is now the “in” place to stay!
Aww so many fun interesting characters ~ I don’t want to spoil it for you!
Ms. Hilderbrand does not disappoint.
Want to thank NetGalley and Little Brown and Company for this eGalley. This file has been made available to me before publication in an early form for an honest professional review.
Publishing Release Date scheduled for June 14, 2022.
This is a wonderful book! I loved how Elin brings her characters to life. In this book, the "ghost" really makes for enhancing the story line and you can tell she not only loves all the dwellers in the hotel. This book was most definitely different than some of her books, but equally as wonderful. I am giving this book a 10/10 rating!
I finished this in one day. I loved the ghost story line! It was unexpected and interesting and fun. This story is everything I’m looking for in a summer read. I was cheering for all the characters, especially Lizbet, and really enjoyed the suspense in each of their stories. 5 stars/keys for this one! Can’t wait for the Elin’s next book!
We are introduced to how many characters within the first four pages?! I was worried it would be a little confusing, but I managed to keep everyone straight, thankfully. I appreciate the push to use current slang and maybe it’s me internalizing, but I can’t help but feel it was a bit forced. There are quite a few characters who are immediate red flags, and because Lizbet is so desperate, she lets all this slide? Of course you know you’ve really enjoyed a book if you can appreciate characters’ flaws and cannot put it down! I haven’t read much by Hilderbrand but am excited to dive into more!
I love Elin. I can’t think of another author who is able to create such lovable and memorable characters. I couldn’t put this book down and was invested in the lives of each character(as I am with all of her books). I wasn’t sure about the ghost aspect, but it was perfect. Grace was a phenomenal character addition. The blue book of Nantucket recommendations has me planning my Nantucket trip of my dreams.
To read an Elin Hilderbrand novel is to visit Nantucket. It’s almost like returning to a favorite vacation spot for a visit.
In The Hotel Nantucket we learn of an abandoned hotel that was the scene of a girl’s death a century ago. The hotel is restored and the hijinks begin with a ghost and a delightful mix of staff. You find yourself cheering each of them on and hoping for the best.
If you’ve read Elin Hilderbrand before, you’re going to enjoy a return to Nantucket. If you haven’t read any of her previous novels, you’re in for a treat!
Another great summer read by Elin Hildebrand-this one even features a ghost!
The good: vivid imagery and wonderful settings, Grace the Ghost, Wanda and the chess player, and the elusive Hotel Confidential
The eh: a few too many characters (in my opinion) and missing a little bit of a spark that would make me absolutely love this book
No one writes a better beach read than Elin Hilderbrand, and The Hotel Nantucket delivers once again. There’s a large cast of interesting characters, and multiple plot lines, all centered around the opening and first summer season of a luxury hotel. My one issue is that the ending felt a little rushed, trying to tie up the loose ends of the various storylines. I wouldn’t mind reading about the hotel’s second summer season! Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I've always loved her books and this one is no exception. Very well written, captured my attention immediately. Wonderful character development. Loved the ghost aspect!
I’m a fan of Hilderbrand, having read some of her novels. This book definitely is a favorite! I was intrigued with the storyline so much that I binge read it in a day! I enjoyed the twists and turns. The characters were fun, especially the ghost! I loved the backdrop of Hotel Nantucket. Definitely will be re-reading this book in the future and recommend it to everyone! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy.

The Hotel Nantucket
By Elin Hilderbrand
Rating: 4.5/5⭐️
Pub day: June 14, 2022
There’s an ease to Elin’s writing that makes the pages seem to turn on their own. She has an innate ability to write characters that are easy to connect with and you can’t help but root for. So often do I get lost in the story and only realize how far I’ve gotten when life decides I need it’s attention.
I’m not someone who searches out books with ghosts, although this year it seems I’m finding them, but I was pleasantly surprised by a ghost being a main part of this tale. She was a delightful addition and made the story a little more jaunty.
The descriptions of meals and individual dishes had my mouth watering and the location sounded so appealing I started researching just what it would take to spend a few weeks in Nantucket!
I did see some reviewers saying there were a lot of characters to keep track of. I didn’t have that problem at all but maybe on audio it could be a bit tricky.
This is definitely a fun beach read option that was just the lighthearted read I needed at this time in my life. My favorite Hilderbrand book so far!
*I felt extra old at times as slang was dropped that I’d never heard of before. Seriously, I had to google SO many things! Did you know that the 2000s are referred to as the “aughts”?
Thank you Netgalley and Little, Brown and Company for the arc in exchange for an honest review!
(Will post on Goodreads and Instagram closer to pub day)
Well the queen of the Beach Reads has done it again. I really enjoyed this book. The ensemble of characters were wonderful. I do wish that a couple of them had been given a bit more attention but you can only cover so much in one novel. This book really was an easy breezy read. What I really love about this author is the absolute love and adoration she has for Nantucket. Nantucket is a living breathing character whose charms never let me down. This was a good one!
This book is a cute and fun beach read that includes a little romance, a few twists, and a fun loving ghost.
Thank you Netgalley, Elin Hilderbrand, and the publishers for the ARC. #Netgalley #TheHotelNantucket
