Elin is back again with another hit! Hotel Nantucket was a true delight and like all her other books, I loved it.
Brief Synopsis: The original Hotel Nantucket was a thriving hotel in the 1920s that is until a fire burnt it down. Everyone escaped except one chamber maid and it is said her spirit can be felt still attached to the building. Fast forward 100 years to the new Hotel Nantucket that has been meticulously designed and planned by Lizbet. A local Nantucket resident who has been going through a rough time in her personal life. Lizabet has thought of everything when creating this hotel in the hopes of receiving the coveted five key rating from the very popular Instagram hotel recommender Shelly Carpenter. Will Hotel Nantucket achieve their goal or will the drama and secrets of the staff prevent this from happening.
Overall thoughts: I really enjoyed this one from Elin and loved the characters. I thought that their storylines were all interesting but they left me wanting a little more drama from each of them. I can describe this one as a feel good book- which is nice to mix in once in a while for me. There were scandalous parts but I felt like I needed more of them. I loved the minor cameos from past characters and this book definitely made me want to plan a trip to Nantucket. I appreciated and LOVED the little surprise at the end. (Not spoiling because it'll make you pumped). Overall this book is receiving 🗝️🗝️🗝️🗝️ from me. I love Elin, Nantucket and her world she has created on this island and I cannot wait to see what's next!
Thank you to Elin Hilderband and NetGalley as well as Little, Brown and Company for this advanced copy. I've never felt so lucky! Keep an eye out for this one coming out June 14th! You definitely don't want to miss it!
This novel transports you to Nantucket unlike any other Hildebrand has written. Hotel Nantucket newly remodeled and opening for Summer, is run by a team that each member has their own story. This includes a ghost, Grace, whom has haunted the hotel for decades. The new owner a billionaire whom has never visited Nantucket is just after a coveted 5 key review from a hotel blogger and the love of his life Magda head of house keeping. Lizbet Keaton who has gone through her own re-awakening in her personal life will lead this hotel through its first summer. This novel reminds you that each person is going through something and in the end it’s kindness that makes a world of difference. That a location does not make something it’s the people who do. This novel ends with Elin Hildebrand's very own “Blue Book” guide to Nantucket which alone is priceless. Another great summer must read by Hildebrand.
Can I just start this off with I LOVE Elin Hilderbrand. I have not once met a book of hers that I didn’t absolutely love. This is no exception. I love that it is based around a hotel that is desperately trying to earn the coveted 5th key! The characters and themes of self discovery and so refreshing. Through in a ghost and you can’t lose!!
Okay, I love Elin Hilderbrand but I am over the paranormal element to these books. Golden Girl had a paranormal element and this one literally had a ghost named Grace. I just couldn’t get into it for that reason. I also felt like the book moved a little too slowly and that threw me off as well.
Elin can do no wrong!! Totally making me wish I was having a Nantucket summer. The pacing was perfect, the story was great, and I couldn’t put it down.
Elin Hilderbrand truly is the queen of summer. While I did guess each and every "twist" in this story, I didn't love it any less. Her penchant for sumptuous settings, mouthwatering food descriptions, and a colorful cast came out in full force. I wasn't sure how I felt about the ghost story element at first, but Grace did make me chuckle a few times. Previous character cameos were a wonderful bonus!
This is exactly what one would expect from Elin Hilderbrand. The Hotel Nantucket is the perfect blend of romance, history, and mystery. I admit that I was skeptical when introduced to the ghost, fearing that this would be a hokey storyline that would detract from the intricacies of the others. While the inclusion of a ghost might be a bit far-fetched, the hauntings of Grace Hadley are truly believable and she easily becomes one of the most interesting "guests" on the property. True to form, Hilderbrand has crafted strong female characters and has neatly woven together the individual lives of the staff and guests at the newly opened hotel; you find yourself rooting for all of them!
The reader cannot help but be charmed by the quest for the fifth key. This is the perfect summer read.
A younger girl with college training in hotel management but no experience in top hotel management is selected to run and get a brand new high end hotel started and up and running for the summer season..
She had been running a very successful restaurant with her ex boyfriend for many years.
The owner will only be happy with the highest rating from a famous hotel reviewer. To add to the story, there is a ghost haunting the hotel.
Very enjoyable read, lots of descriptions of Nantucket.
I finished The Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand, and all I can think about now is SUMMER! This is the perfect beach read that would be a light and fun book to take on vacation. The book follows Lizbet Keaton as she opens the Hotel Nantucket from an eyesore with a HISTORY to a success in this vacation hotspot.
This book captures the magic I remember from working in restaurants over the summers when I was in college. There is something magical about a seemingly random group that comes together over work for a set period of time- like summer. All of the baggage and history and background comes with them, but in a way, melts away, as this group works together day after day.
In Hotel Nantucket, Lizbet Keaton has done the same thing. She has hired a staff of workers, some because they are the best and some out of desperation. In the end, they find that summer magic together as they work toward the hotel’s success. This book is very character driven- which I loved. While there was a main character with Lizbet Keaton, by the end, the other characters were so well developed that I knew their background and goals and needed to know how their stories ended up.
What makes this book stand out from others are the extras that Hilderbrand gives her readers. There are in love and break up playlists (please make a list on Spotify!), a traveler’s guide to Nantucket in the end that was such a treat to read, weekly emails from the mysteries and sometimes clueless owner, and a GHOST. Now, I will say at first I was not excited about the supernatural element in my beach read, but this one was so well done and necessary that I promise it will only make the book better for you, not worse. The voice and perspective of the ghost gave the reader some clever insight and behind the scenes look into the characters.
I would like to thank NetGalley and Little Brown and Company for an early edition. I will be purchasing this one when it is released.
Elin Hilderbrand has somehow crafted yet another perfect beach read with all of the right ingredients.... flawed and lovable characters, an inviting setting, and an ending that will leave your mouth watering for a sequel.
The Hotel Nantucket introduces us to Lizbet, who is hired to run the newly renovated hotel at the perfect time. Her fifteen year relationship has just ended after she found incriminating texts between her ex-boyfriend and their restaurant's wine rep. Lizbet is ready for a fresh start and a new challenge but nothing can prepare her for some of the unforeseen obstacles at the Hotel Nantucket. What is her night manager discussing during his late night whispered phone calls? Why is Chad, a Nantucket golden boy, so eager to join the housekeeping staff? Is there really a ghost making her presence known to even the youngest hotel guests? And will they be able to earn the coveted given key review from the reviewer who has never before bestowed this honor on any other hotel?
The gossip, surprises and laugh out loud moments are exactly what we've all come to expect and love from Elin Hilderbrand, and her newest novel delivers all of this and more. She even includes an amazing guide to all things Nantucket, written from the perspective that only a true island lover could provide.
A fun new story from the best of the beach read authors. Special guest appearances from old Nantucket residents, and a ghost add to the story.
Hilderbrand's newest beach read introduces readers to a new element: the supernatural. There's some historical fiction, some supernatural, some love, some angst, some restoration and remodel, and of course some name-drops of Nantucket's favorite places.
Like all her books, I ate this book up. I live for my own little literary vaca on Nantucket when I pick up any of Hilderbrand's books. And I've said it before, but I'll say it again, her writing is only getting more intimate, deep, and thoughtful. I absolutely loved 28 Summers--one of her best. Golden Girl was amazing too. This new one introduces us to yet another element of writing--the historical edge.
The story takes us to the Hotel Nantucket, a once thriving hotel that has been abandoned for decades, but one that sits on prime real estate. It has been waiting for someone to come in, someone with some coin, to restore the hotel to its former grandeur. When a London billionaire decides to buy and restore the property and entrust its everday operation to someone on Nantucket, Lizbet Keaton, whose professional life and personal life have just imploded, decides to take on the challenge. She gets a ragtag group of workers together to not only keep the hotel running, but to ensure that the hotel receives the highest review possible: a 5 Key rating by an anonymous hotel reviewer that has garnered a cult following.
It was such a fun book--fabulous characters and dreamy setting. Another win!
The Hotel Nantucket came at just the right time! With spring's arrival teasing us and summer vacations so long off, it was nice to slide back into the comfortable world of Elin Hilderbrand's island world.
The island is a-buzz with the news that a British billionaire has bought the decrepit Hotel Nantucket with plans to bring it back to life and make it a world class hotel. Lizbet Keaton, fresh off a break up with her longtime boyfriend, JJ, has been given the position of General Manager. She hires the key staff members - a handsome chef, a mysterious, but thorough, head of housekeeping, a front desk manger and night clerk who each seem to be up to something, the eager front desk clerk and finally, the college graduate who is the son of very wealthy locals who insists on working as a maid in order to make up for something terrible that he has done. Add to that the hotel's longtime resident, Grace, the ghost of of a woman who was a servant and mistress to the one time owner of the hotel who had been murdered when the hotel was set on fire while she was locked in a room, and you have the inhabitants for the Hotel Nantucket.
The owner has presented financial incentives to the staff to earn a 5 Key rating from a social media travel influencer - something that has never been done before. As each guest comes through the door with their unique demands, the staff wonders if this is the reviewer. The secrets of both the guests and the staff are revealed as the summer months go by. What will be the fate of Hotel Nantucket? Will it survive the hauntings and online reviews? Will this less than seasoned staff be able to put together the highest level of service? What of the locals who are having their own secrets revealed, much to their embarrassment?
This is an easy read and one which is most entertaining. If you are looking for a wonderful summer read, check into the Hotel Nantucket. Just avoid the 4th floor ;)
My thanks to NetGallery for the ARC of this this book in exchange for my honest review.

5 ⭐️
Nothing says summer like a new release from the Queen of beach reads! Elin Hilderbrand is one of my favorites and she has absolutely done it again with The Hotel Nantucket. I still have yet to read the synopsis. Elin’s writing a new book.. oh, ok I’m in. This was one of my most anticipated books of 2022 and I literally screamed when I got the approval email. I was so excited for the opportunity to be an early reader.
While the Nantucket setting was classic Hilderbrand, the story she crafted was unique, and had a fun twist at the end that I did not see coming. I loved this book so so much. It was a beautifully written story with an absolutely incredible cast of charming characters, including a ghost! Hilderbrand’s descriptions were so vivid and immersive. I truly felt like I was a guest at The Hotel Nantucket enjoying the luxurious amenities and the mouth-watering food & beverages! An absolutely compelling and entertaining read that I did not what to end.
Make sure to check out The Blue Book at the end. Elin’s amazing recommendation guide to Nantucket. I so need a summer visit to this beautiful island. 😍
What I loved;
🏝 Paranormal element
🏨 Familiar faces of past characters
🏖 Pop culture references

Outstanding! One of her bests. I prefer her books that focus on regular people not the rich and fabulous. Interesting story with great character development. the story keep moving forward with twists and turns and keeps you interested, To me the best part was the inclusion of characters from her older novels, Blue Bistro, Beach Club, The Rumor etc. It was fun to sort of get closure on some of them! I hear this is her last novel which makes sense because she included a readers guide to the Island which is super valuable but is a clue that this is it. I wlll certainly miss the wonderful new beach reads every year!

Elin fans will be thrilled with this perfect beach read. The paranormal element was a fresh addition to her typical juicy reads!
⁃ The imagery of the hotel is incredible. You feel as if you’re a guest there, too
⁃ Tons of different storylines woven together in typical Elin form. You literally cannot get bored reading her books because there’s always a new twist right around the corner.
⁃ Drama, sweet summer romances, and post-heartbreak comebacks 💖
⁃ I loved the anticipation of Shelly Carpenters review! Which guest would be her? Is there an imposter? I adored this twist.
⁃ I love how Elin incorporates real Nantucket places in her books. I stayed at the Wauwinet & have eaten at Toppers, so it’s so excited to see them in her books and be able to say “I’ve been there!”
TYPO: chapter 12 - “it’s a hundred year later, and she’s still here”
Loved this page: "Location 2604" in Affirmations chapter about Lizbet's relationship with JJ. It was touching
I LOVED the TravelTattler reviews and Xavier's weekly emails. Such a fun touch!
Playlists were a cute touch (breakup ---> falling in love) but I found myself not even reading the song names, only the names of the playlists themselves. Almost unncessary.
Blue Book at the end -- on the Kindle version, there wasn't a clear end of the book to the Blue Book, so I wasn't sure if it was still part of the plot. Loved this addition to the book, though. Just make the two more separate!
Elin Hilderbrand has a magical way of connecting you to the characters like they’re your own family. The addition of Grace to the story made me very unsure at first but absolutely loved it at the end. Another winner by Elin!
As Lizbet tries to regain her feet after a bad break-up, she finds herself at the helm of a new hotel, funded by a foreign billionaire and situated in an architectural gem that's seen its better days. Her new boss's chief aim is to secure the elusive 5-key rating that the anonymous food critic Shelley Carpenter has never once bestowed on a hotel before.
Bluffing her way through, Lizbet deals with guests who aren't what they seem, as well as employees with less-than-upstanding tactics for securing great reviews, all the while unaware that the reason every other hotel venture has failed there in the past hundred years is that its resident ghost Grace has disapproved of what goes on there.
This book was different than others I've read from Elin Hilderbrand, yet was delightful in its own way. It's storyline was character-rich.
Thanks to Elin Hilderbrand, NetGalley and Little, Brown and Company for an advance review copy.

After reading this book I wish I could spend a summer at the Hotel Nantucket. In this story, which is written in third person, we follow the staff of a brand new hotel that was purchased and renovated by a London billionaire who wanted to impress two women; one anonymous and the other was Shelly Carpenter who was an anonymous hotel reviewer who never gives out 5 keys to any of the hotels she has stayed at. The new owner hands this goal over to the staff, during its first summer season of being open.
So well written, and at the end there is a whole tour guide book with recommendations from the author herself who has lived year round on Nantucket for numerous years!

Elin Hilderbrand is one of my favorite authors. I look forward to reading her new books each year and I was excited to get my hands on an ARC on The Hotel Nantucket.
As always, Hilderbrand wrote a great story with well developed, likable characters. She made her readers love Nantucket as usual and wanting Summer to be here (maybe that's why she releases her books in the summer😃). I even enjoyed the ghost element which isn't something I typically enjoy. Great beach read, can't wait for the next Hilderbrand book. This one was over too soon!
