Hilderbrand does it again. Another amazing book by one of my favorite authors! The settings, the plot, the characters all leave a lasting impression!

As a Massachusetts native now living in Michigan, I loved escaping to The Hotel Nantucket. Reading Elin Hilderbrand’s latest read made me want to getaway to a luxury hotel with all the amenities that are beautifully described. If you love shows like Below Deck (which I do), following the hotel’s staff drama will keep you more than interested. This was a perfect beach read for me - and I can’t believe my first Hilderbrand book! Thanks, NetGalley for making me a fan!

Elin Hilderbrand’s Nantucket-based novels are undoubtedly some of the most anticipated books for many readers each summer. I was so excited to dig into this one.

The Hotel Nantucket sticks to Hilderbrand’s usual writing style, including many new characters, as well as revisiting several old characters and locations. One thing Hilderbrand does well is her description of Nantucket. You cannot help but want to visit Nantucket at the end of each of her books, and this one is no exception. I wanted to eat all the food and book a stay at Hotel Nantucket!

One flaw I saw in this book was the amount of characters featured made it difficult for the story line to fully develop. While each story was complete, I also felt like they lacked some detail to make the reader feel more invested in their story line. There were a few characters that could’ve been removed and not impacted the overall story line.

The Hotel Nantucket features a supernatural element, somewhat similar to Golden Girl. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about it, but it ended up being the piece of the story that connected everything together.

Fans of Hilderbrand will definitely find themselves clamoring to pick this one up this summer. I think the vast majority of her readers will enjoy this one.

The Hotel Nantucket was once a grand hotel until in 1922 when a fire broke out that killed a young chambermaid named, Grace Hadley. The hotel was never returned to its previous state after the fire and was even abandoned completely for some time. Until it was finally purchased by a billionaire from London that performed a full restoration to the property. New general manager, Lizbet hires an inexperienced staff to try and bring the hotel back from its checkered past.

I always look forward to Elin Hilderbrand books every year. I really enjoyed this one and I think many of her fans will also enjoy it. Told in multiple points of view and including some really fun storylines, THE HOTEL NANTUCKET makes a great summer or vacation read.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Little, Brown and Company for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This review will be posted to my Instagram Blog (@coffee.break.book.reviews) in the near future.

I have read multiple books by this author and really enjoyed them in the past but this one missed the mark for me. She does a great job of getting me invested in the characters but I had a hard time getting through the sections from the ghost's point of view. This remind me of Golden Girl when I was hoping for something more like 28 Summers or the Summer of '69. Still an enjoyable read that had me rooting for her characters.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

As a huge fan of Elin Hilderbrand, I couldn't wait to start this book. The Hotel Nantucket is a book you cannot put down. A hotel in complete disrepair, it becomes a life changing project for Lizbet when her life takes a change for the worse. A tale of life's challenges and friendships you have to read.

I can’t stop thinking about this book. It was one I could have read in a day because I cared so deeply for every character but I didn’t want it to end. Love the ghost and heaven element looking Over the island, love the music tie in, and the tour Guide I. The back. A true love letter to Nantucket but a special gift to her readers to meet new characters but check in on “old friends”

Loved it

Elin Hilderbrand has written another summer book that’s a pleasure to read. Great descriptions of the hotel, food and location as well as the staff and the service they provide make you want to call for a reservation. A mystery, romance and a ghost add to the charm of the story. The author provides her own guide book at the end just in case you are planning a trip. A great summer read! #TheHotelNantucket #ElinHilderbrand #NetGalley

Full disclosure: Elin Hilderbrand is my absolute favorite! I love seeing the interesting risks she takes with her latest novels. Like her last, this one has a ghost as a central character which sounds much stranger than it is. This could be her sweetest story yet and just made me feel so warm and cozy! With retirement on the horizon for Hilderbrand, each novel must be savored as a gift and this one did not disappoint!

Jesus, woman, can you write a book
I got this one early, and when it hit my inbox, I couldn’t wait to read it.
Lizbeth has left JJ, her BF (whom she’s recently caught sexting another woman ) of man of many years. She’s ready for a fresh start. And Xavier Darling has done just that. He’s purchased a hotel that was burned down in 1922 for a cool 30 million and puts it all in Liz’s hands to get it up and running and hire all the staff. I could write for days on the team. There are so many characters revisiting from Elin's previous books, and it just makes your heart smile.
But we meet a new character - Grace Hadley has been haunting the hotel since she died in the fire that night, and her moments, I must say, are my absolute favorite of this book. She’s funny, sneaky, helpful, intelligent, pushy but good pushy, and if she were Alice today, she would be a dime piece.
Read how this hotel rebuilds itself and the people rebuild their lives with it simultaneously. There are plenty of scandals told from all different pov in this book. I read it in one sitting. Standing ovation. 5 unputadownable

4.5 stars What would summer be without an Elin Hilderbrand book to look forward to? Characters we love and hate, engrossing storylines, the feeling of being on Nantucket, and a ghost- what more could you ask for? Make room in your beach bag for this unputdownable novel. Definitely recommend.

Another engaging, enthralling read from the queen of Summer, Elin Hilderbrand.

This fun, gorgeous novel takes place on Nantucket with all the gorgeous scenery, delicious food and amazing stores and experiences name checked to make the island come alive for readers.

The characters at the Hotel Nantucket represent a wide swath of ages, experiences and secrets, so there is someone for everyone to love. And probably more than one character.

The writing is crisp, the location aspirational, and the book is another winner. Highly recommend.

I wait all year every year to read the new book by Elin. This is by far, one of my favorite things that I look forward to, quite literally in the same way I look forward to football season and holidays. The past 3 books: 28 Summers, Golden Girl, and now The Hotel Nantucket have been some of her best work. I really believe that this is so special to me because her writing transports me to Nantucket every year. I feel like I know her characters. I can taste the food. I can see the places- I even know the bars and the restaurants. How amazing is it that writing can build such a familiarity for places we’ve never actually seen or smelled and food we’ve never tasted? Ok- I’m done gushing. About this book- there are many characters who all have secrets that are revealed gradually and at a good pace. There’s a bit of a supernatural element sort of like there was in Golden Girl, but different. There’s a big twist that I certainly didn’t see coming, but loved. There’s scandal, love, deception, redemption, forgiveness, and rejection all along the way. There is a very sad death that I’m only mentioning as a trigger warning for animal lovers. It was hard to read and I could’ve done without that part, but it was necessary for the growth of a certain character. I love everything Elin writes. I even sat and read her entire guide to Nantucket at the end and now follow all these Nantucket stores on my Bookstagram account. If you know then you already know she is an insta-buy for me. I own every book- even the ones I get as ARCs. This comes out on 6/14/22. Pre-order asap. All the stars. Always. I love Elin.

This is one of those books....do I read it all in one sitting, or do I savor it as long as possible.
Well - I should have savored it, because this character driven, romantic, haunted, make you hungry from all the wonderful food descriptions, lasted all of a day and a half.
And I'm depressed The Hotel Nantucket is over.
Maybe because author Hilderbrand stated she's retiring after this (but hey, if Tom Brady can change his mind...there's hope!)
I haven't read ALL of Hilderbrand's books, but out of the many I have read, I'd say this is her absolute best.
All the characters were problematic, but loveable, and grew and changed for the better.
As always, Nantucket is also a featured character.
How is Ms. Hilderbrand NOT the Mayor of Nantucket????
Loved the Shoutouts to Peloton.
The one...slight criticism; the social media/slang references. Many older readers might not understand. But it certainly does not distract from the book (unless as a reader, you feel compelled to look these things up)
11 out of 10 Stars. All the Stars. Every. Single. One.
Thank you to NG, the publisher, and mostly, Ms. Hilderbrand for sharing her talent with the world!!!!

A quick, fun read. Many interesting characters. Surprises and a fun way to tell the story. Once again...I want to live at the beach(at least for the summer). ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.

I am an unabashed fan of Elian Hilderbrand. From the moment I picked up her first Nantucket novel, I have never missed one. Best of all, I am never disappointed. Once again, Hidebrand has written a lovely novel full of likable characters.

Interesting, two of the main characters are a ghost and a hotel! The Hotel Nantucket has been rebuilt by a British tycoon who is determined to create a perfect resort. For this task, Hidebrand has assembled a group of interesting characters to serve as staff and guests. One of the most fascinating characters is Grace, the maid who died during the great fire. As the hotel is reborn, so is the staff. Lizbet, the general manager has embarked on this adventure because of a disastrous break-up. Chad joins the staff after an a personal disaster. Each backstory is fascinating and complete enough for the reader to understand their motivation.

There is an interesting family spending the summer, with 2 incredibly delightful children. As a teacher, I loved the children, and especially loved the reference to their home school, PS 6 Manhattan, since my daughter went there!

This is a thoroughly delightful novel. I highly recommend this.

Thank you so much for this delightful ARC.

There is a sense of the staff resolving their issues as the novel moves on.

I love Elin’s books and always look forward to her new releases. The Hotel Nantucket definitely didn’t disappoint. This was another fantastic book containing romance, secrets, and the perfect amount of drama. Her characters are easy to love and easy to relate to. I loved how Elin brought back some of our old favorite characters from previous books, such as The Chief and Fast Eddie! If you have read this author’s books before you definitely know who these two people are. I loved the Nantucket setting of Elin’s book and the way she describes everything is just total perfection. From the beaches to the food being served it all sounded like a book I want to jump into.

I hope Elin doesn’t retire as she has said she plans to. Nobody writes a ‘beach book’ the way Elin does. This was a great book that grabbed me from the start.

Thank you NetGalley and Little Brown and Company for the ARC.
