I am an unabashed fan of Elian Hilderbrand. From the moment I picked up her first Nantucket novel, I have never missed one. Best of all, I am never disappointed. Once again, Hidebrand has written a lovely novel full of likable characters.
Interesting, two of the main characters are a ghost and a hotel! The Hotel Nantucket has been rebuilt by a British tycoon who is determined to create a perfect resort. For this task, Hidebrand has assembled a group of interesting characters to serve as staff and guests. One of the most fascinating characters is Grace, the maid who died during the great fire. As the hotel is reborn, so is the staff. Lizbet, the general manager has embarked on this adventure because of a disastrous break-up. Chad joins the staff after an a personal disaster. Each backstory is fascinating and complete enough for the reader to understand their motivation.
There is an interesting family spending the summer, with 2 incredibly delightful children. As a teacher, I loved the children, and especially loved the reference to their home school, PS 6 Manhattan, since my daughter went there!
This is a thoroughly delightful novel. I highly recommend this.
Thank you so much for this delightful ARC.
There is a sense of the staff resolving their issues as the novel moves on.

I love Elin’s books and always look forward to her new releases. The Hotel Nantucket definitely didn’t disappoint. This was another fantastic book containing romance, secrets, and the perfect amount of drama. Her characters are easy to love and easy to relate to. I loved how Elin brought back some of our old favorite characters from previous books, such as The Chief and Fast Eddie! If you have read this author’s books before you definitely know who these two people are. I loved the Nantucket setting of Elin’s book and the way she describes everything is just total perfection. From the beaches to the food being served it all sounded like a book I want to jump into.
I hope Elin doesn’t retire as she has said she plans to. Nobody writes a ‘beach book’ the way Elin does. This was a great book that grabbed me from the start.
Thank you NetGalley and Little Brown and Company for the ARC.

The Hotel Nantucket was one of my most anticipated books this year, so I was so grateful to receive an advanced copy. I dug right in and enjoyed becoming once again immersed in the descriptive writing of Elin Hildebrand…I found myself instantly transported to Nantucket Island with it’s beautiful scenery and delicious food and drinks; I was able to relax into the setting as I became acquainted with a mostly new cast of characters. Although, like in most of this author’s books there are some overlapping characters and generational families (which I really enjoy!). This book reminded me of some of this author’s earlier novels, prior to 28 Summers (my all time fave of hers!) and Golden Girl. It’s a sweet story, perfectly paced as the twists and surprises are revealed; and I think I could become further attached to these characters if they appear in another of her future books (please keep writing!). A bonus at the end of this book is a personal travel guide to Nantucket written by the author. This book is sure to be a hit on the beach this summer, and within our Peloton Moms Book Club!
Thank you very much to NetGalley and Little, Brown and Company for the advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Readers will devour Hotel Nantucket with its wonderfully diverse complex characters, the “ I can’t put down the book” plot and of course, as always, the secrets of Nantucket! While I’ve always enjoyed all of Hilderbrand’s books, Hotel Nantucket has become my favorite. I hope we get to visit these characters again.

My thanks to net galley and Little, Brown and Company for the opportunity to read an advance copy of Elin Holder brand's 29th novel, The Hotel Nantucket. I have read every book Ms. Hildebrand has written, and loved every one. her characters are a joy to spend time with, and she's able to make me feel as though I have stepped into their world. Spending time in Nantucket, even through the words of this celebrated novelist, is like spending a few hours in your favorite place.

Nantucket is one of my favorite places ever, and I feel like there’s no better author to take you back to the island than Elin. I’ve now read 15 of her books, and my favorite part is how she turns each story into a love letter to the island.
Hotel Nantucket was such an engrossing read and while fairly lengthy, I couldn’t put it down. It gave off similar vibes to Golden Girl, which is my favorite of hers to date. Like all good Elin books, this was an escape read filled with complex characters, drama, and the perfect amount of romance.
What I loved:
🏝The story was through multiple points of view (similar to Golden Girl). You got to hear not only from the main characters but also secondary characters who had smaller parts in the story. The constant changing of perspective kept me on my feet and intrigued.
🏝Each character had their own secrets and past that were slowly revealed. There were some surprises that really shocked me and others that made me believe in happy endings.
🏝Characters and places from her previous books come up in passing (e.g., Jennifer Quinn, Jordan Randolph, Fast Eddie, Chief Ed, The Winter Street Inn, The Blue Bistro and so much more)
🏝There was a paranormal element (also similar to Golden Girl) to the story. At first I thought I was going to be annoyed by the ghost component but Elin incorporated it in a way that brought some Nantucket history to the story and tied all the pieces together.
🏝The hotel management premise and learning about all the work that goes into running a successful, luxury hotel.
🏝The blog posts from Hotel Confidential and then discovering who the anonymous blogger was.
🏝The setting!! Like in every Elin book, I felt like I was on the island sampling the local cuisine, shopping at the boutique stores, walking along the cobblestone streets and partying at The Chicken Box.
🏝How The Blue Book (a guide that Lizbet shared with all her guest that included all of the “musts” on the island) was shared at the end of the story. Definitely going to refer to it next time I go to Nantucket!!
