With a promising career and a bright future, things seem to have turned a corner for Valerie. However, her dependence on painkillers has caused her to miss the warning signs, not only in her business dealings but also in her marriage.
With divorce looming, a passion-filled weekend with an old friend leads Valerie to cross paths with the mysterious businessman, Gernot and his troubled female companion, a woman with ties to Hannah's past. Sensing something is amiss, Valerie's offering of help unwittingly sets in motion a chain of events that will bring her into conflict with an Armenian gang…. It was full of tension, twists and turns that kept me totally engrossed… I read it in one day as I just couldn’t put it down.
Enjoyable writing style, with a story that flows really well. The storyline itself felt a bit confusing, but overall it was enjoyable. The characters are interesting.
