Take Your Breath Away was a thriller I had a hard time putting down. The story follows Andrew, who's wife has gone missing 6 years earlier. All the possible reasons for her disappearance are explored throughout the story, as there have been new sightings of Brie, Andrew's missing wife. The story is made even more suspenseful by weaving in events that are currently unfolding with Andrew's current girlfriend and her brother. I loved every part of the novel, and the twists and turns kept me on my toes the entire time. I would highly recommend to anyone that loves a good suspenseful thriller.
Thank you NetGalley and Harper Collins Publishers for the ARC, in exchange for my honest review.

This was a twisty thriller that had me reading as fast as possible to find out what happened! Linwood Barclay’s writing is smooth and a joy to read! ( Due to an iPad issue that necessitated a shop visit, my review was not posted in a timely manner & I apologize for that).

Compelling mystery that had me on the edge of my seat for the majority of the novel! Character development and plot setting were very well written.
Twists and turns throughout the novel that made you guess the entire time!

One weekend while Andrew is away, his wife Brie vanished without a trace. Everyone assumed he'd gotten away with murder but the police couldn't prove it. Six years later, he's moved on and is in a new relationship when a woman who looks exactly like Brie shows up at their old house, but then suddenly disappears too. Could she really be alive after all these years? If so, where has she been?

This story started off slow but really picked up with lots of twists and turns. Everyone seems suspicious and I honestly had no idea the direction the story was going to go. I listened to this book in audio and I LOVED how it was multiple narrators - it definitely added to the experience, most audiobooks just have one.

Thank you to William Morrow for the digital review copy!

Barclay continues to write 'on the edge of your seat' stand-alone stories.

Imagine going to your house that is not your house. Imagine thinking you saw your deceased wife/daughter but cannot find any evidence it. Are you going crazy? Is someone playing with you? If so, why?
This what this book is about - the characters are believable, the scenario is intense.

A very enjoyable read. This book like all Linwood Barclay's books keeps you guessing and when you think you know who did it, it turns out to be wrong. I always enjoy the twists he puts in his stories. A story of a missing wife who suddenly turns up at her old home 6 years after going missing. But is it really Brie who has come back? Her husband Andy who has long been a suspect in his wife's disappearance starts to investigate on his own. This book had a lot of suspense and was hard to put down. Looking forward to more books from Mr. Barclay. I'm sure it will be quite the adventure.

While away for the weekend with his business partner, Andrew Mason's wife Brie disappears. Six years later a woman appears at the site of their old home and outside the hospital where her mother is dying who witnesses suspect might be Brie. There are enough twists and turns to keep the suspects lining up. I'm new to reading Linwood Barclay but he's definitely on my watch list after this.

What can I say that has not already been said about the amazingly talented Linwood Barclay?!

This book, as expected, was absolutely enthralling. There is just something about the way Mr. Barclay writes that grabs your attention and holds it until the very last page. He is an author that I can read in one sitting.

From the beginning, I felt worried for the protagonist (Andrew) and wanted to see the best for him. As usual with Mr. Barclay, you felt like you knew the character but were still surprised at twists and turns as the story went on. The story was unique, but didn't have extreme elements that made you question the reality of it all. There is so much more I could say, but I suggest reading it without too much background information. That is what I did, and I have no regrets. All I need to know is that it is Linwood Barclay and I'm in.

Mr. Barclay's books best enjoyed in a comfy chair, with a delicious drink, and enough time to read it in one sitting. His books are just that consistently good.

For anyone who enjoys well written mysteries, with good character development and an engaging plot- this is your author.

Thank you to William Morrow, NetGalley and the Killer Crime Club for the opportunity to read this amazing book.

One weekend, while Andrew Mason was on a fishing trip, his wife, Brie, vanished without a trace. Most everyone assumed Andy had got away with murder—it’s always the husband, isn’t it?—but the police could never build a strong case against him. I was pulled into the story from the get go, love a good put me right into the action opening chapter and this delivered. Something I look for in a beach read is to be intrigued, invested, worried, dazzled, etc from the start and this book had it. the Last 30% felt nutty, chaotic and like it entered soap opera territory. I can’t say I was happy with the resolution but I had a great time on the journey and trying to figure out what was really going on

Andrew Mason's wife is missing. Everyone assumes he had something to do with it--even though he was never charged. Six years later, Andy has moved on from the tragedy in his past--that is until a woman shows up at Andy's old address demanding to know where her home is. This book kept me guessing until the end. What a page turner! Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy.

A man’s wife disappears only to suddenly show up six years later. Where has she been? This plot kept me reading to find out what happened to the wife and where, if anywhere, she had been for six years. The novel had a lot going on at once and some of it was a little implausible but overall this was the perfect book to get me out of my reading slump. I liked it enough that I’ve added some of his previous novels to my tbr shelf.

This is my first Barclay book and I definitely found it entertaining, though some of the twists and turns were a little far fetched for me! The story follows Andrew, a married man who while on a fishing trip came home to find his wife missing. He was always the prime suspect in the case though lack of evidence kept him from behind bars. Over the next six years Andrew makes a life for himself in a different town with a new woman. And suddenly rumours begin! His missing wife has been spotted around town! So a lot of wtf, whodunnit, and family drama is unraveled throughout this fun and fast paced thriller. Some of the plotting was super clever but some of it was way too unrealistic. I liked some characters, others not so much. I think this one may actually be a bit forgettable for me in the end, even though I did enjoy the reading process!

This was such an incredible thriller. It has all the elements I look for in a good book. It was fast paced, intriguing, mysterious, left me guessing and completely entertaining.

I was so engaged with the characters throughout this novel, I simply could not wait to find out what happened in all the extraordinary circumstances they faced.

This was an engaging page turner that kept me guessing. An incredible thriller read from this author. Loved it!

The premise for this fabulous thriller immediately grabbed me: One weekend, while Andrew Mason was away on a fishing trip, his wife, Brie, disappeared without a trace. Almost everyone believed that Andy murdered her, but no one could prove it, and the police didn’t have enough evidence to charge him. Now, six years later, a woman who looks remarkably like Brie shows up at his old address where his former house has been torn down and replaced, screaming, “Where’s my house? What’s happened to my house?” And then, just as quickly as she arrived, the woman vanishes. Andrew is thrown back into the spotlight as the police begin to investigate the cold case again. I read this book so quickly and thought it was an engaging and compelling thriller with an ending that made sense and fit the story very well. It will make a great vacation read.
