I love every Investigators book, and this one was no different -- I love the puns, the art style, and of course, Mango and Brash. I also was a big fan of the premise of this book, which was art heists! These are great for both kids and parents alike.

A firm favourite. Funny, engaging, eye catching illustrations. Perfect for middle graders. A fantastic recommendation for reluctant readers but engaging enough for all skill levels.

What a great addition to the InvestiGators series! This graphic novel had an easy to follow storyline and great illustrations that kept my eight year old engaged and interested. This series has been so helpful in keeping my son interested in reading when there have been competing interests%. Definitely recommend for elementary-aged students.

Loved it! I am actually purchasing this and other titles about the InvestiGators for our library. The illustrations were captivating and cute. The story line left you wanting more adventures with these funny gators.

A funny and interesting detective story featuring two alligators. The comic is full of puns, clever ones, and makes the story entertaining. This time these two investiGators should found out who stole the paintings meant to be shown in a gala in the museum. Children should be amused reading this book, since it is quite engaging.

This super cute Graphic Novel stars 2 Detectives that are alligators. It's a fun and exciting read for kids with some lessons. This book is perfect for struggling readers who aren't ready for chapter books. I'd say 2nd graders and up should have the skills to read alone. Younger kids can enjoy the story and pictures while also being able to recognize some of the easier words and deduce other words with the help of images. This is a series kids will love, and it will encourage and foster their love of reading.

A very cute book of puns that’s perfect for
Any child that enjoys a good light hearted mystery, and word-play will enjoy this book.

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to review this E-ARC.

It feels like the series has hit it's stride with this book. It's the first book without the antagonist of the other titles so it was a matter of "what will happen next" but this adventure proves, even simple mysteries has their place in this series. The puns in this are great and it's a perfect series to hand to readers waiting on the latest Dog-Man. Highly recommend for library collections.

Each year, I get more and more students in the 5th grade that are below grade level. I am planning to purchase this for my classroom, because it is great for early readers, without making them feel different or less than their peers. Cute story and characters that students will come back to.

This is the perfect addition to the series. I know my children and class can’t wait to get their hands in a copy. They always make us laugh out loud. My son who struggles with reading really enjoys these books!

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review

This is one of my student's favorite series, and I don't blame them! The series flows so well from book to book and as always, this was another fun read - this time about an art heist being investigated. Definitely a must for any middle grade classroom library or fans of Dav Pilkey!

The InvestiGators are near and dear to my heart. This was a great book, and some nice commentary on how what we value can affect our actions, good or bad.

I am already a fan of John Patrick Green and I own some of this series in my collection, so I look forward to adding this to it! Brash and Mango are on the case again and this time they are looking for missing paintings! And they need to be found before the museum has its fundraising gala. Can they crack the case before everything throws up? (ha!) But no seriously will they? Filled to the brim with puns and silly banter InvestiGators: Heist and Seek engages in interesting conversation while keeping the reader on their feet with the mystery of the missing paintings!

Story: 4/5
Characters: 5/5
PUNS!: 5/5
Overall: 5/5
Thanks to NetGalley, John Patrick Green, and First Second Books for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Mango and Brash are on the case of some missing art. It keeps disappearing from the delivery van for the museum, and the director is concerned they won’t be able to host their fundraiser gala. Can Manga and Brash uncover the thief?

It’s nice to see the InvestiGators on a brand new case. The puns in this were abundant and horrible. I think Green must have been saving up some of these for quite a while. Those who love puns will especially love this volume in the series. Green also took the art theme and had a lot of fun with comments about artists and what defines art, and broke the 4th wall several times. Overall it was a fun mystery with Brash and Mango that kept me guessing as to who was the culprit.

Notes on content [based on the ARC]: No language issues. No sexual content. There’s a car crash but no one is hurt. There’s a big case of food poisoning that results in lots of barfing on page, but there is a warning of how many pages to skip if you want to avoid the gross illustrations.

I received an ARC of this title from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I thought that this book was absolutely brilliant!

I loved the illustrations, they were absolutely perfect for the book and just as good as the ones in the other books in the series, this reminded me how fabulous an illustrator the author is too

The story was well developed and it was a very fun read

Plenty to make you giggle too and the characters are fab!

It is 5 stars from me for this one – very highly recommended!

<b>Let's start with Oliver's review (age 7):</b>

My favorite character is Savanna. (and like C-Orb, Oliver liked that there was room for a How To Draw section at the back)

<img src="https://jmhammond.github.io/assets/Olivers_Savanna_from_Investigators.png" width="600" />

Panksy was funny.

I liked when Savanna found out she's in a book.

I loved the part when Agent Six warned about not being mean to the author, and ran away screaming.

If half stars are a thing, then four and half stars. <spoiler> I expected the main villain to be Panksy </spoiler>. I kind of miss Darryl / Crackerdile / Waffledile / Statuedile / Rockodile / Radioactodile

<b>Now John's review (age 38):</b>

<img src="https://jmhammond.github.io/assets/InvestiGatorsCOPY.png" width="800"/>

I love these books. Sure, some of the jokes are corny, but I'm a dad. And some of it so subtle that I have to just stop and applaud. I had to stop our reading, pause my laughter, and then explain why Ancheese "munch munch"-ing was so frickin' hilarious. I explained it to my son, and later had to explain it to my wife, too, so I'm pretty sure John Green wrote these books just for me.

Green has set up such a carefully planned world that it's amazing. For a case in point, a main focal character in this book is drawn on the first page of the first book (bottom right, iirc), and not called attention to until this sixth book in the series! There are so many call-backs that reward the careful reader, and my son delights in looking for hidden details in the books to look for clues in future books.

<spoiler>
Speaking of clues:
Oliver thinks those radioactive saltines are going to make a comeback. I think we're already done with that story line. Since we can't both be right, I have a feeling a sunglass-wearing possum is going to jump out of our bookshelf yelling "You Got Panksy'd!"

This was a cute book. Some of the jokes were a little too silly, like just not that funny. However, I liked the story and the graphics. it was a run read and I think kids will enjoy this.
