The author is coming in hot with After Hours on Milagro Street! The author had me from the first page. This book is going to have everything and should be on everyone's TBR for 2022.

Spice in the first chapter?! This book is going to be so hot. I can already see it being the talk ok booktok. I absolutely love Alex, everything about the way she is written. Such an absolute badass. Jeremiah is a human golden retriever and so adorable. Loved this preview! Will definitely be reading the full book.

The first five chapters of this book is SO cute. I can't wait to see where the story goes and how I'm going to fall even more in love with the characters. Not to mention the stunning cover!

The first five chapters were incredible; they were quite enjoyable and thrilling to read.
I wasn't prepared for the spicy scene; it came out of nowhere and made me squeal when I read it.
Hoping to read the whole novel.

The premise of the book sounds very interesting, I went in thinking I was going to be Team Alex all the way, but some how I can totally see why Post would be weary of her intentions. The sample teased enough of the spicy and the plot to keep me wanting more. It's totally going on my pre-order list!

I’m mad I only had access to a preview !
This story is great. Even if we already know who the love interest is, it's a nice “enemy”. There is no real toxicity between the character, they have reasons to be mad and all, nothing toxic.
I can’t wait to learn more on Alex. I like her vibe.
I also really like that we get right in the action in the first chapter … happy it was not an audiobook I was listening to at my job.
Can’t wait for the whole book

I really like the premise of this book, but the first 5 chapters were a little rough for me. I love the opposites attract, the animosity, the forced proximity but I think chapter 1 went a little too fast for me. It all happened so quickly and seemed a little farfetched. I think the part that didn’t quite click for me was Jeremiah because he seems kind of conservative. However, I really do like his character and the image the author portrayed for him. Alex is a spitfire, clever and witty. I like that she is plus sized as well. The next couple chapters slowed down and it took a minute for me to get all the secondary characters figured out. I think it will be very interesting to see where the rest of the book goes. Jeremiah and Alex definitely have chemistry and tension; they are both attracted to each other. I think that Jeremiah will soften her edges and Alex will make Jeremiah more confident. I am excited to read the rest and see how their story develops! I would rate it between 3-4 stars for the preview.

I love how Harlequin offered sample chapters of this book! I'm a sucker for a heroine who is strong and takes no crap, and a hero who is sweet and kind (I can't read cruel heroes). These sample chapters showed me that Alex and Jeremiah have excellent chemistry, and will be great for one another. I cannot wait to see them explode across the page, and I hope I can receive an ARC of the full book when available! I'm getting enemies-to-lovers vibes, but I don't think it'll take too much to get to the latter part of that! :) Excited for this release!

Pros: I am a new reader to the romance genre, so I am thrilled to have the opportunity to sample a book. I'm still learning the subgenres and tropes and figuring out my favorites--I think this might have an enemies to lovers trope, which is fun. One thing that I appreciate about the romance genre is that it is becoming more and more inclusive--different sexual orientations, different cultures, different religions, etc. I love when I get to learn about people who have backgrounds different from mine, and in this book we get to know a character from a Mexican American family who lives in an area with a strong sense of community.

Cons: I have a love-hate relationship with chapter samples. I love getting an introduction to a book, but then I'm disappointed I can't keep reading.

Thank you to NetGalley and Carina Press & Carina Adores (Harlequin) for the opportunity to sample this book!

Thank you Carina Press & Carina Adores (Harlequin) and NetGalley for the advanced preview of this book.

This is absolutely FANTASTIC and I definitely need the rest of the book. I need to know what happens! I mean open door in chapter 1? Yes, please, what a first impression. Alex is such a bad ass and so confident and Jeremiah is such a sweetheart. I need to see if they'll tame each other and if he'll smooth her edges and if she'll get him to let loose. I'm also really intrigued about the history of Mexican American families in the plains and want to learn more. Fingers crossed I'll get approved for the rest of the book!

Big thanks to Carina Press for the advanced chapter preview of this book via NetGalley. This review is being given honestly and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Okay so I'm not a super big fan of Alex and I think it's because she comes off kind of mean BUT after thinking about it, she's not that different from the cold, brooding, bad boy type from books so I think it's just me whose the issue on this front. I pretty much read this excerpt in one go and had a FUN ASF time. Jeremiah is a hottie who I want to ride in a dim bar during our first meeting. We've got some big enemies-but-we-have-some-fire-chemistry-to-lovers vibes and I'm obsessed. Angelina M Lopez is also the Author of The Filthy Rich series, which if you haven't read you should, and I'm so excited to read the rest of this book. Hopefully I'll get the opportunity to read the full ARC of this!

*This is a review of the 5 chapter Preview that is available on NetGalley*

This is well-written and compelling, and I can see how a lot of people would like it, but the abrupt in-your-face sexuality of Alex and Jeremiah's first meeting isn't really my thing and was a bit startling. It was *very* abrupt.

The characters are really interesting though- especially pairing bold and brash Alex with quiet and reserved Jeremiah. It looks like there will be an enemies to lovers thing going on which is always nice. I find myself really curious about how the story will unfold as Alex and Jeremiah vie for ownership of the bar, while at the same time I am apprehensive about how much sex there will be, given the beginning.

Which, again, I know plenty of people like that. It's just... not my thing.

*Thanks to NetGalley and Carina Press for providing an e-arc preview for review

The enemies to lovers potential of this book is incredibly potent and I cannot WAIT to get into the meat of the story. Alex and Jeremiah are such dynamic characters on the page already and their clashing yet compatible goals for the bar make for some really compelling tension.

I am itching to get my hands on the rest of After Hours on Milagro Street, Ale and Jeremiah's first meeting quickly gets physical, and then passionate. They both think they know best and seem to each assume the worst about the other. No slow burns here. There are lots of ghosts and the promise of DRAMA to come. This is going to be a fun series.
