Widowed by age 25, Hattie Kavanaugh has thrown herself into her work restoring old and unloved homes. Now, it looks like she may have chosen the wrong house, she’s falling behind fast and this house may just push her business off a financial cliff. She needs money so she jumps on an offer to appear on a reality TV show, Homewreckers where she must restore a beach house better than her competitor, a man who could be the biggest pain in the ass she’s ever known, or a ….lover. Add in a mystery surrounding the disappearance of a local woman years before, the detective still on the case along with Andrews’s usual snark and humor and you’ve got a great beach read

The Homewreckers has all the elements readers expect from Mary Kay Andrews: interesting characters that populate a story designed to hook readers immediately and keep them engaged, mystery, romance and many secrets. Centered around a house flip being done as a TV reality show there’s lots of tension on and off the set especially once a cold case suddenly becomes hot again. This reader is a huge fan of the author and in my opinion this book is one of her best. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Most highly recommend.
