Thank you to netgalley for this arc. This was a sweet story. Second chance romance sometimes doesn’t hit it for me, but this was cute! Solid read.
3.5 stars
A super sweet second chance and friends to lovers story! Two of my favorite tropes. I enjoyed a lot of the aspects of this book and had a lot of fun reading!
I found this book super underwhelming and an overall difficult book to recommend. Its too much for the hallmark romance fans but not enough got the harlequin fans.
I adored this book. Built to Last is a childhood sweetheart/first loves reunited romance and it is all things sweet and salty and sexy. The musical touches were appreciated - particularly the title of each chapter being a song. It set a tone for the chapter and had me humming a bit. It built up my anticipation and enjoyment, I think. The antagonists are just as dislikable as Cameron and Shelby are likable. I enjoyed the development of their relationship and it didn’t feel forced or rushed. I’m hoping for Lorelei’s story next…

Having grown up on house remodeling shows, this book was a pretty fun read. The romance wasn't very climactic (the 3rd act break-up wasn't much if any), but I enjoyed this sweet story. Erin Hahn's YA books have been meaningful and more hard-hitting ( especially Never Saw You Coming), and I hope that her future adult ones will do the same. (This one is more sweet than anything.)
The premise of the story is not original, but it was cute and enjoyable to read. The characters are attractive and I could see myself reading about the sub-character’s stories. The back stories are developed and I was routeing for them to stick it to the “bad” guy. In the audio verison, the narrators are good and I am glad they used a different people for each POV,
Thank you Netgalley for the advanced copy.

A nice story of two child stars, who, after battling and escaping Hollywood, find themselves together as stars of a new house flipping show. And the former stars, now stars, start seeing stars.
I really enjoyed it. It was a light and easy listen. On a romance book spice level it was mild, but enjoyable.
Thank you @netgalley and @orangeskyaudio for the arc of the audiobook.

An adorable second chance romance that leaves you with a smile on your face. I enjoyed this lighthearted book very much. This was a very low conflict storyline that focused on the main characters' growth.
Erin Hahn did a wonderful job creating two characters that are so obviously meant to be. There is such satisfaction when the moment comes when these two characters stop denying what makes them happy and become a couple. The supporting cast is full of drama and creates most of the turmoil in this book.
The character driven storyline made for a quick, satisfying and enjoyable book.
I am extremely grateful to St. Martin's Press and Netgalley for the opportunity to read a digital copy of this heartwarming book in exchange for an honest review
The characters in this book both equally made me angry and also happy! Lyle & Shelby’s mother can suck a fat one, but Shelby & Cameron deserve all of the love. Erin Hahn did a great job at making Lyle and Shelby’s mother the villains, to the point where my heart was racing just reading what they were doing to the poor couple! This was a first love/second chance story and definitely something sweet and easy to read. I love the small town vibes it gave off and I also love shows about flipping houses so this was up my alley. I got total Chip & Joanna feels from the main characters so it was impossible not to love them. The writing was great and such a palette cleanser. I would totally recommend this book to anyone who loves cute little love stories. There’s a little spice in it, but not an obscene about at all. My personal taste likes a little more angst instead of a sweet and slow burn, but it was still a great read 4/5 stars all the way!
I'm not usually a big "second chance" romance sort of person (aside from the movie sweet home Alabama lol) but this one was pretty good! If you're a sucker for childhood sweethearts trying again, this one is for you!
This was so cute! The story was based in Michigan which made me love it more! I loved how wholesome Shelby and Cameron’s relationship is! I loved that they both grew up and got their shit together, then got together! There was almost a full blown miscommunication trope happening but everything got resolved quickly! Fuck Lyle.
3.5 stars for a romance novel filled with interesting characters~
This one definitely started out in a different/interesting sort of way. It got me intrigued over the character dynamic between Cameron and Shelby. Throughout though I became frustrated over some of the character development and interactions in a very "will they, won't they" type of way. It didn't retain my full interest towards the end, however I did like how the author left the final ending.
Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press, St. Martin's Griffin for providing a digital ARC for review!
This was such a cute and fun read. I have been in a terrible reading slump and romcoms are the best way to get me out. I am so glad I tried this one!
I love second chance romances , this one was sweet Shelby and Cameron were so cute , love Reno shows so to see it in a sweet story was fun .
This book was so cute. One of my favorite arcs is second chance childhood sweethearts. I thought that Shelby and Cam were so cute and it was very sweet. I thought the idea was a little unique with them having been on a show together when they were younger and now being on show again for a second chance romance. I would recommend this to anyone who likes a second chance romance.
This book was good, but not great. I love second chance romance and young love tropes, but I had several false starts with this one and barely made it through. I finally started listening to the audiobook and alternative from this copy and that. The characters were sweet and the storyline was fun, but I was hoping for more flashbacks to really develop their backstory / connection beyond one detailed night. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a the eARC in exchange for an honest review!
Two children stars attempting to redeem themselves come up with their version of fixer upper home renovation. Im here for it! Challenging subjects are addressed with grace which is part of her wonderful writing style. Im looking forward to the next book.
To be honest, I had a few false starts reading this one. Once I got into the real story instead of those initial flashbacks, it was really good. But the beginning did not really draw me in.
I thought that the MC's, Cam and Shelby, had great chemistry, and I enjoyed their second chance romance with a bit of the Hollywood/ famous actor trope sprinkled in. It was nice that it had that element, but was removed from the actual LA setting by taking place in Michigan, where they both grew up. It made it less angsty than you often read when there is an MC who is somehow famous.
I felt like there was mostly good character development throughout this book. However, both MC's had some major family issues that I felt like were just left hanging in the end. I wish there had been more of a resolution there, but I suppose it doesn't really matter since there was an HEA for the couple.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This book was seriously so sweet. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Shelby and all of the friends she made after moving back home to Michigan. I also enjoyed the romance and the whole reluctantly going back into the spotlight aspect of the book.
I read this last year and am not sure why/how I haven't submitted my review.
Second-chance romance is my least favourite trope but I remember liking the HGTV aspect of the book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from St. Martin's Press through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you, St. Martin's Press.
