This was a really cute preview and recommended to me by so many bookish friends! I loved the banter vibes just pure charisma of this book! I’ve loved Alexis hall in the past and I know I will continue to love her reads in the future! I believe you will enjoy this book if you’ve like red, white and royal blue definitely has the same kind of pacing, humour and character development arcs! Also as a lover of London this setting is going to be everything to me! Can’t wait to read!!
Just the smallest little snippet of the book. I did enjoy it though. It’s hard to complete a whole review when you only have a few chapters, but this book seems to bring back the same bit of charm as the first. I look forward to reading the rest of it.
This preview was so good. I’m so excited to read the full book. I loved everything about it so far. I also love a good mlm romance.
Husband Material was a delight! It shared the intricacies of a long-term relationship well and provided an immersive understanding of the character dynamics. I loved how the book communicated the messiness of being human while remaining light and easy to read.
I previewed Alexis Hall's Husband Material and it made me anticipate reading the rest of the book further - similar to how I felt reading Boyfriend Material. However, when I read the book in full (later on), it did not stand up to how much I loved Boyfriend Material. It contained the same witty banter that I love Alexis Hall for but seemed to struggle to find real angst for the characters that felt believable and like an actual obstacle they couldn't overcome.
Loved the preview! So glad that I had the opportunity to read it. I will definitely be purchasing Husband Material!
Loved the first book in the series, Boyfriend Material, and was anxiously awaiting this sequel! Love the characters. This 5 chapter
Preview was not an effective hook for reading the rest of the book, however.
I'm definitely late to the party on this one. But! The characters are immediately lovable. I feel for Oliver and his serious-side and love the contrast of his character against Luc.
Based off of the first 5 chapters, I will not continue with the full novel.
I thought the characters were vapid and I did not care about them.
This is the second Alexis Hall book I tried to read, their books just aren't my style, unfortunately.
I’m very delayed, but looking forward to reading more of Luc and Oliver’s relationship together. Husband Material begins with Luc navigating what it means to balance friendships with a committed relationship, what a “good boyfriend/friend” looks like and processing things from his past. It’ll be interesting to see how that continues to develop and I hope communication between the two remains strong
Loved reading about these two again! I liked seeing them settled in to their relationship, being domestic, and gearing up for their next step. Can’t wait to read the rest!
OBSESSED!!!
Boyfriend Material is one of my romances so when I saw Alexis was coming out with a second book I needed to get my hands on it.
Let me start off by saying how much I LOVED Boyfriend Material!! This one however missed the mark, and the audio felt like it dragged on. The friend group was my favorite and I was so happy to be back in it, however the ending was to rushed.
"Husband Material" was a sad follow up to Hall's hit "Boyfriend Material." While it attempts to make a statement on marriage, and it actually doesn't fail too much on that front, it just feels unnecessary and disappointing for the characters. I don't believe I will be continuing with this series.
It gave me read, white and royal blue vibes but I was not really invested.
Usually I’m very quick to finish this book but this one took me long. I just wasn’t feeling it. Perhaps I should not have read it right after reading the previous mentioned book.
I would definitely recommend this book to my customers looking for this genre of book
I still need to read this entire book but wowww that snippet was everything!!! It gave me the old gang back and of course, the simmering mess that are those two lovely idiots. Can’t wait to read the whole thing!!!
The preview of this book was a lovely surprise! I loved the first book so much & it came at such a good time as I was up to my eyeballs in finals. The continuation of an adorable love story between quite opposite people. I have not yet read the whole novel, but if this preview is anything to contend with I'm more than excited to see where all of the characters & their lives end up!
For only being the first few chapters, I give this 3.5 stars! I feel like this is such an easy rating for this preview because of how much I loved the characters the first time around!
it was very difficult to beat the first book which i enjoyed so much and i don't think it was quite as good, but due to the characters (and how attached i am to them) i still really enjoyed this sequel. the biggest issue i had was the ending seemed a bit rushed- they decided not to get married and finally communicated in one chapter and then that was it. i hope the third book ties up the loose ends and we finally get to see oliver and luc with less fighting and a happier end.
however i still did give four stars as the humour and the little details of romance really make the novel. luc and oliver are so sweet in most parts and the side characters are always really fun.
LOVE OLIVER AND LUC LOVE LOVE LOVE
I read this entire book and I love it and I cannot wait for more time with these characters in the future and omg I loveeeeee
This beginning of this book have a lot of promise for what’s to come. Feels amazing to be back with such a wonderful cast of characters.
