The first book in the series was very engaging, and you didn’t quite know what to expect from chapter to chapter. Similarly, The Husband Material begins as true RomCom novel. It incorporates humor from the start. I can’t wait to finish reading the rest of the love journey for Luc and Oliver!

What happens after the meet-cute, the bumps in the road and the thank-goodness-they’re-still-a-couple? This. Husband Material. With clever dialogue and a cast of characters as extra as your own crew, you will want to find out how Alexis Hall keeps Lucian and Oliver on their trajectory to adorable-ever-after. Spend some time with these two and you will have all-the-feels you crave while engrossed with realistic emotions, motives and characters. Sigh. Don’t bother me: I’m reading another Alexis Hall novel.

This was a great little teaser and I can't wait to read the rest of Husband Material to see how Luc and Oliver get on!

Very excited to read this book when it comes out. Perfect five chapters to get you hooked and intrigued to purchase a copy when it comes out. The author’s writing is as quirky as always. And the characters are as lovely as I remember. I love Luc with all my heart istg :))))

I enjoyed Boyfriend Material, so I was super excited for Husband Material! The book starts out strong with familiar characters and Alexis Hall's typical humor. It's a lot, but also hilarious. While there is a timejump before the book starts, it playing about two years after the previous book, it was easy to slip right back into Luc's mindset and his vibrant, fast-paced life and thoughts. Can't wait for the book to come out!

I requested this preview simply because I could not wait to read this book and really loved it. Even with the access to only a few chapters, I really liked the direction that this second book seems to be taking and I can barely wait to get a chance to read the entire story.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for this preview.

Reading the preview for this book has made me even more excited to read the rest, which I didn’t think was possible. I love Alexis Hall’s romances, across the board, and Boyfriend Materiel was the first I ever read, so I am thrilled to get to see what happens next to Luc and Oliver.

In the preview, we get to see that they are still the same people even 2 year into a healthy relationship. Luc is still struggling with his self esteem issues, but I love getting to see him rise above his past and be a good friend and honest boyfriend. The problems they are dealing with are so real and normal, and it’s just works. The book includes the ruined jokes and Dick pics from the original in ways that already make me smile.

I think it’s vital to read Boyfriend Material before you read this book. And boy, are you in for a treat, because it is wonderful, and this looks to be just as good if not better!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced preview of this book. It contained the first 5 chapters. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher.

Boyfriend Material is one of my favourites from Alexis Hall, so I was both intrigued and sceptical by the idea of a sequel. Having read the first five chapters, any worries have been alleviated, and I eagerly await the full release.

Husband Material takes place two years after the end of the first installment. Luc is still cynical and crisis-prone but has matured in his relationship with Oliver. We are plunged straight into their extended circle, which Hall manages to reintroduce as if we had just finished the first book.

A brilliant opening, and I look forward to the complete publication.

I was doubtful when I heard that there would be a sequel to Boyfriend Material but I nevertheless enjoyed the first five chapters (and I need the rest of the book ASAP) Even though there is a time skip, it feels like picking up where you left off. Luc is just as chaotic, sardonic, and self deprecating as before. And Oliver is just as adorable, insecure, and supportive. I loved seeing their queer friend group again! Their relationship is so cute and healthy, but I think that the sequel reopens some plot points from the last book that I felt were finished. I do think that bringing a certain someone from Luc's past back into the picture will be very intriguing and test Luc and Oliver's relationship and hopefully provide Luc some closure and an ability to move on with Oliver. This book seems like a great sequel, so if you enjoyed the first book I'm sure you'll like this one too.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing an early preview of the book!

5 chapters was simply not enough!!!

The beginning of this story was so well written and I was completely captivated by the life’s of Oliver & Luc… I can not wait to dive back in when this book is published. If this isn’t on your TBR, add it now you won’t be disappointed.

I love this.

What else can I say? 5 chapters isn’t enough, I need the whole book?

Our sneak peek into the lives of Oliver and Luc is wonderful. The sweetness and the humor of the story is still very present and I love that the two guys have continued to grow in the two years between books. In Boyfriend Material, the things I loved most was the banter between the characters and the emotional growth of our two leads. Even in these short chapters we see these again. From Bridge’s “non-gender-specific bird party” to Luc being self-aware enough to know when saying a joke would hurt someone and then not saying it.

Counting down the days to publication and wondering if a third book could be coming too?

Thank you to NetGalley for this preview!

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to preview this title. It is the second in a series and readers should make sure to first read Boyfriend Material.

The first 5 chapters were delightful and I look forward to spending further time with Luc and Oliver!

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to preview this title.

Opening this preview was like seeing old friends again. The opening chapters are a lovely juxtaposition between Luc now, and Luc in Boyfriend Material. Being able to see him and Oliver after their relationship has had time to develop is everything I was wanting at the end of the first book. The first five chapters do a great job of teasing what the full plot will be about. I'd already preordered the physical copy, but now I've preordered the digital addition so I can read it during work the day it comes out.

Boyfriend Material was one of my favorite contemporary romance reads when it came out, and still stands as one of my favorite romantic comedy couples. I have been eagerly awaiting the follow-up, Husband Material, and was so excited to get my hands on the opening chapters. It looks promising, has all our favorite characters, and lots of laughs already. I can't wait to read the novel in its entirety.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance preview.

I have not had a chance to read Boyfriend Material yet and that was a mistake because I was very very confused about what was happening in this. I’m going to have to read it before I read this.

Definitely one of my most anticipated reads and the preview didn't disappoint! I'm ready to read the whole thing now please!
