I’m so excited to read the second installment in this series. This series I found through some of my friends on Instagram and I’m so glad I did.

Alexis Hall’s previous book and this little preview was no less captivating. I am thrilled that we get to revisit the characters from Boyfriend Material and see how they grew and how they will grow in this new book!

I adored Boyfriend Material and I am so excited to have more of Luc and Oliver in Husband Material. This preview was just what I hoped for and I can’t wait to read the rest of this book in August!

I am so hesitant about a sequel set with the same characters as the first, but I think Alexis Hall is going to crush it. These chapters were just a tease, but I can already tell the book will be wonderful.

I adore these characters, and was happy to get a glimpse at their next story. I am relieved that Luc's growth in the first book is still evident here.
I pre-ordered the book after reading these chapters. Alexis Hall's writing shines, as ever. I especially enjoy how he uses Oliver (and his dry wit) to drop little-known vocabulary treats for readers.

I can't wait for this book! I loved Boyfriend Material and it has been hugely popular at my library. It is a must-buy for my public library collection.

2 years since Boyfriend Material, Oliver and Luc are still a couple and with it comes the still the highs and lows. I can't wait to see what happens with them. Poor Luc, always getting into something.

I immediately preordered the book after reading these chapters. I literally laughed out loud and can't wait to get my hands on the rest of it.
Enough said, to be honest!

Luc and Oliver have been together for 2 years now and Luc is helping to plan best friend Bridget plan her wedding, When things to awry with planning, Luc swoops in to comfort Bridge, but he seems to have ruined Oliver’s special plans while trying to be a good friend.
This was like coming home to old friends you haven’t seen in a while. The banter is still excellent despite Luc and Oliver’s long term relationship. Bridget is still moving from crisis to crisis, The Royce-Royces are still perfect and ridiculous and have added a third James Royce-Royce to the mix. I loved all five chapters and cannot wait to read the full book when it comes out. Alexis Hall has a fantastic writing style that makes you feel like you also are friends with Oliver and Luc, close enough to be in on all the jokes, to feel sad when they’re sad, and to celebrate their joys.

I think I've said it multiple times but reading an Alexis Hal book alwaysf makes me laugh! ngl I was a bit worried that Luc's emotional growth in the first book wouldn't have an impact but we see it here too, he's trying and I would love to see where this goes!

Excited to see what the rest of the story brings!
I enjoyed The Boyfriend Material, so it would be nice to see Oliver and Luc married and have their happily ever after.

This was great! I loved BOYFRIEND MATERIAL and have been super excited about the sequel. I'm also just happy to read a book about people already IN a relationship where their relationship is the central theme. I read a lot of romance and books with romance in them, and they're so often about people getting together or people backburnered once they are together.
From these first five chapters, it's obvious the same humor and warmth of BOYFRIEND MATERIAL is present in HUSBAND MATERIAL, but it doesn't feel like a retread. I liked that Luc/Oliver haven't magically grown out of all their issues, because DUH, love isn't a cure all. Also, a) I'll never not get kick out of people bashing LOVE, ACTUALLY and b) YAY for vegan Oliver -- it just makes sense.

What an incredible return to Luc and Oliver!! Boyfriend Material is one of my favorites, so I was very excited when Alexis Hall announced a sequel. This chapter sampler has all of the characteristic warmth, witty dialogue, and fast-paced plot as book one. I particularly love how Alexis Hall always manages to raise the stakes, creating a complex plot in only a few chapters. It was so much fun to see these characters again! I can’t wait to read Husband Material and see what happens after the cliffhanger that the chapter sampler left off on! Husband Material releases August 7, 2022. Thank you so much to Alexis Hall, Sourcebooks Casablanca, and Netgalley for a free chapter sampler in exchange for honest feedback.

This preview was an amuse-bouche and I can't wait to devour the full book! The writing is witty as expected, and revisiting some beloved characters is such a delight. There sounds to be some drama in the horizon and I'm excited to see where this goes!

This preview just makes me want to have the whole book in my hands right now! I can't wait to read it.

I was excited to get a sneak preview of this book. I think it’s impossible to give a complete review of a sneak peek, but from what I’ve read in the first five chapters, I think it’ll be a good read, The author is setting the stage for what i imagine will be the overall plot/conflict, and I’m ready to read the rest!

Boyfriend Material was my break-in-case-of-emergency book for a long, long time, and when I finally read it, I became instantly obsessed.
I got to read the first 5 chapters of the sequel, Husband Material, and I’m freaking out!!!! So many unanswered questions!!!!
The book picks up two years after the end of Boyfriend Material, and everyone is getting married (except Oliver and Luc, that is), from Luc’s beloved best friend Bridget to Luc’s hated ex-boyfriend Miles.
As a way to make himself feel better about betraying Luc and selling a story about him back in the day, Miles invites Luc to his wedding to his perfect fiancé, JoJo, which sends Luc into a tailspin. How does he feel about it? Does he want to go? Would he just be appeasing Miles’ conscience, or would it be good for his own peace of mind, too?
Bridget's nuptials are not getting any less panicked attention from Luc – it turns out that Bridge was sent pictures of her fiancé Tom getting awfully close to another woman, and he’s now unreachable (I have faith this is just a misunderstanding, Alexis Hall wouldn’t do Bridge and Tom dirty like this).
All these feelings about these supposed perfect relationships end up getting to Luc, who, in typical Luc fashion, starts questioning his own relationship to his perfect boyfriend and wondering if it might also be doomed (or headed for the altar).
Getting my dose of Oliver Blackwood really brightened up my whole day and I can’t wait to devour this book as a whole!

I read Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall just this past month (late to the game, I know), so when I was given the opportunity to read the ARC Preview of the first 5 chapters...well let me tell you, I jumped at the chance.
Husband Materials promises to be just as good (dare I say even better?) then Boyfriend Material. Luc and Oliver's banter catches you right from the very beginning of the book and it was refreshing to see just how much has changed in the two years they've been together since the previous book, as well as how much hasn't. Luc is still our chaotic, slightly dramatic lover boy who has admittedly seemed to mature over the course of the past two years in his relationship, and Oliver is still the cute, nerdy, Barrister that we all fell in love with.
I can't wait until the book is published and get to join Luc and Oliver on there many escapades!

This promises to be every bit as delightful as Boyfriend Material. Looking forward to the full release.

I read Boyfriend Material back in 2020 and absolutely fell in love with Luc and Oliver, and with Hall's writing.
When I found out there was going to a sequel I was Thrilled. I always felt there was more to Luc & Oliver's story.
Having now read this 5 chapter preview I'm even more excited - I need the completed book immediately!
I'm already laughing out loud, swooning and feeling the angst from this book and I cant wait to read the rest!
