AHHHH I am SO excited for this book. Alexis Hall - genius. How he captures the next chapter of Luc and Oliver's life. I LOVED boyfriend material and have been WAITING for this book to come out. This preview was everything I thought it would be and I count wait for the full book to be available. So excited!!

I could not possibly be more excited for this book. The first five chapters are such a tease, but so worth it!

I need August to get here faster!!!

After reading the five chapter preview provided by NetGalley and the publisher, I kept swiping hoping there was more because I NEED TO KNOW! Boyfriend Material is the book that got me back into reading and the story of Luc and Oliver is so captivating and real that I can easily see myself reading the story for years to come! Husband Material has the same inner monologue that made me fall in love during the first book and long for more with this excerpt. I found myself smiling and laughing every other page and I cannot put into words how much I love this story and the characters!

I am so ready for August 2nd!

This 5 chapter preview of Husband Materials was a mixed experience. It's a sequel, so comparisons with Boyfriend Material (which is much beloved) are not only inevitable but justified. The pacing feels episodic and the conflict feels petty or pedestrian in these early chapters, but I'll have to see how the rest of the book plays out.

I can’t even with how adorable Oliver and Luc are. 5 chapters was definitely not enough. I devoured this. I am so happy for this sequel, I feel they are so rare in romance and I am excited to get more Four Weddings and a Funeral vibes. The opening of this book with the gender non specific bachelorette killed me- it was so creative and funny and I just love everything Alexis Hall puts out! Five stars for the five chapters!

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca- this one was great!

I absolutely adored this 5-chapter preview of Husband Material and loved seing what Luc, Oliver and the rest of the gang were up to a couple of years after the events of Boyfriend Material. There's more of the same humor that made the first installment such an enjoyable read and the characters feel as compelling as ever. The only complain I have is that it was too short and now the wait until I can get my hands on the whole thing is going to be torture! If this snippet is any indication, the complete work will for sure live up to the hype in my book!

*I voluntarily read and reviewed a preview of this book via Netgalley. All my thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

'A fun, no-nonsense, dramatic read that has the potential be a great read and perhaps a firm favourite for readers this year.'

This was my first dive into Alexis Hall's writing, and a book which follows its predecessor, "Boyfriend Material', where the characters of Husband Material first pop up. Despite not having read this book myself, it was easy to pick up who was who in this preview, and what roughly had happened in the previous book and as by the second chapter, I was up to speed and ready to devour the rest of the chapter previews.

My biggest complement to the book's preview had to be the fun, silly, goofy, almost 'immature' nature of the characters, namely Luc and those around him. I loved the humour and total at ease with who he is as a character, and how he sees himself. He's not a uptight, overbearing character and although we love the gruff types, Luc is a refreshing change and I'd definitely be interested in reading back 'Boyfriend Material' and reading the rest of Husband Material, to get to know him a little better.

Husband Material upon this preview, seems like a book that will be as both humorous as it is dramatic and will keep you guessing as to whether or not things will result in a happily HEA for the characters within. So much was packed into the five chapters we had in this preview, yet it also left us just satisfied enough that we simply must know what will happen next and I for one would like to know how Luc and Oliver will play out, and where is next for them as a couple and as individuals.

Thank you to Sourcebooks for this preview, and best of luck to Alexis when release day rolls around!

I only read the first five chapters but it already included everything I loved about Boyfriend Material! It's going to be a very long wait until August!

Oh. My. God. I've missed Luc and Oliver so much and have been looking forward to Husband Material since it was announced! I wasn't sure if I wanted to read this preview because I was worried it would leave me frustrated I couldn't just binge read the whole book right now, but I broke down and read it because I needed something I knew would be a comfort read. And if I thought I was dying to read Husband Material before this preview, it is nothing on how much I desperately need it now, I need to know what happens next for Luc and Oliver, but also for Bridge! I'm so glad I already pre-ordered this book! It is a need, not a want!

Love, Love, Loved this!! It makes me so excited for the release of the rest of the book. Alexis Hall does a wonderful job of starting this book and bringing readers into the story.

Having only read the first few chapters, it's hard to get the general idea of the book as a whole content-wise and if it stays the same, gets better, or gets worse. What I did see was a glimpse of some cool conflict with eh backstabbing ex boyfriend and the established relationship between Lucien and Oliver is something I really want to read. It's all kind of giving me "Shopaholic" vibes (the Sophie Kinsella series). I like that there's also more plot here than in the firs book, where it felt like a lot of banter and not much else. There's some good development. I'm excited to read the rest and I wish I had the whole book!

I LOVED BOYFRIEND MATERIAL. So, I was absolutely ecstatic when the preview of Husband Material was available through Net Galley.

The first chapter immediately brings back the narration from Luc, and it shows his unique character and personality. There's nothing to do except smile while Luc talks about the hen party. It's so great to see how much Luc & Oliver have grown since Boyfriend Material. Their dynamic and balance are just so satisfying. However, we're definitely set up for the angst.

I'm just going to stay giddy while anticipating the release in August! Time to reread the chapters over one more time.

When I saw NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca were offering access to the first five chapters of Husband Material by Alexis Hall, I was so excited I downloaded it twice.

Boyfriend Material was one of my favorite reads of last year, and likely all time. Hall so perfectly weaves humor, emotion, and swoon-worthy moments that I cannot get enough of his writing. This preview of Husband Material only cemented that.

It was truly such a delight to be back with Luc and Oliver. This preview had all the humor and soft moments that I love between them, but also showed the development of their relationship, how they’ve both changed, and how they haven’t. I truly cannot wait until this book comes out in August!! If you haven’t downloaded the preview from netgalley, yet, run!!

This preview is immediately so cute and so funny. I'm even more excited to read the full novel now! Luc and Oliver are going strong in their relationship, but it's clear that a lot of weddings are in their near future that are going to add some chaos back into their lives.

AHHHHHH THIS PREVIEW.

Boyfriend Material is one of my favorite books ever written (a fact which cemented itself after I read it twice in one month) and I have spent every day after the initial read just *waiting* to get my hands on this masterpiece.

Just the 5 chapters made me remember how much I miss my band of gays (and Alex Twaddle obviously). This was everything I needed and more. Absolutely delightful.

Cannot wait for the rest to be published.

(This reminded me of the TikTok audio that goes "Remember how men acted when the Joker came out? This is my joker. Except I will be so much worse." This book is one million percent my joker, thank you very much.)

This was a very cute preview, and though it's been well over a year since I read its predecessor, "Boyfriend Material", the transition into the beginning of "Husband Material" was smooth and felt as if no time had passed at all. After reading the preview, I'm very interested in seeing where this novel takes Oliver and Luc's relationship. Something I disliked about the first book was the pacing, but based on what I was able to read in "Husband Material", Alexis Hall seems to have figured it out. I will definitely be purchasing this book when it's released as I am eager to read more of Oliver and Luc's story.

I loved this preview, it was great and I can‘t wait for august! I might have to reread the first one while I‘m waiting, I missed these characters.

Off to a very promising start. Hilarious and sweet, with just a hint at some future angst. I can't wait for the full book!

*screams*
I'm weak. I caved and downloaded the preview. HOW DO I TIME JUMP TO AUGUST. God, I missed these two idiots. And Luc's hilarious, endearingly insecure, awkward self.

I loved Boyfriend Material, so I was thrilled to get a sneak peek at the first few chapters of Husband Material. I was thrilled to jump right back in with Luc and Oliver and Bridget. I love that the comedic pace of the first book is immediately present with phrases like "dong lollies within the first two pages. I love that we see Luc growing up, while also still struggling with who he is. I can't wait for the entire book to be released. This is exactly the book I want to read this summer.
