These first 5 chapters are such a tease! I love Luc and Oliver so much and I can’t wait to read the rest of their story. Boyfriend Material was on my top 5 reads of 2020 list because I simply cannot get enough of this couple. Getting to see them together for real (no more fake dating!) and being domestic together is so heart-warming. I can’t wait to read more!

What a cute read! This book had me cracking up pretty much the entire time. The banter and the silly situations all made it so much fun. I’ll have to go check out the previous book but what an awesome read. Looking forward to checking it out when it is released.

If I had to be really honest, Boyfriend Material wasn't a huge fave of mine but it was still a solid read and I wanted to read more. So when I saw this preview was up I thought okay lets do it. I read it and it has me really excited to read the full book. I'm glad to see their banter hasn't changed and that this still has the same vibe with the comedy and the little bits of drama thrown in. Also hello, vulva hats love that. So I cant wait to pick up the full release.

First of all, thanks to NetGalley for providing me a preview of the book. This preview only includes the first 5 chapters in Husband Material.

I really enjoyed that things haven't changed that much since the end of Boyfriend Material. We see the same essence but we also see that the characters have matured. But being more mature doesn't mean that you don't have bad moments or self-doubt moments. Which is what we got to see here.

I think Husband Material will be more about Oliver and Luc's relationship, their problems in the relationship, how to balance being a good friend with being a good boyfriend and your own insecurities. I'm excited to read the whole book!

This preview contains the first five chapters of rom com Husband Material by Alexis Hall . Husband Material is the sequel to fake dating romance Boyfriend Material. I haven't read the first book but this makes me want to pick it up immediately before this is published. Thank you Netgallery.

Husband Material brings us back to Luc and Oliver and jumps right into Luc's distinctive tone. In short, it's delightful. It previews a story where Luc and Oliver have to grapple with their relationship and how to balance it against the rest of their lives. If you, somehow, haven't read Boyfriend Material and are thinking about this one, read Boyfriend Material first.

5 star **chapter 1-5 preview** courtesy of NetGalley👌

God this is just joke after joke after witty one liner, and we have been so bloody blessed 🙏.

Just like BfM, this is an automatic mood enhancer. Laughing is my favourite thing about life (except maybe cheese) (sorry Oliver) and now I’m climbing the walls with the need to read the rest.

It seriously can’t come quick enough.

Based on this preview I’m very excited to read the full book! I really enjoyed the initial Boyfriend Material but at even more excited at the prospect of a sequel.

The book maintains the witty banter that readers of the first instalment. Oliver and Luc have an undeniable chemistry that’s so well captured in just this excerpt alone!

Based on these chapters alone I cannot wait to read the full book upon its release!

Boyfriend Material was hilarious and it seems that will be continued perfectly in Husband Material as I giggled my way through this preview.

At pre wedding party with friends, Luc has the misfortune to run into his awful exboyfriend, Miles, who sold personal details to the press after their break up five years earlier. Not only is Miles as good looking as ever but he's also apparently engaged to a young beautiful man named JoJo. The Miles has the absolute gall to invite Luc to his wedding.

Suddenly potential disaster strikes for one of his friends and his dedication to being a supportive friend causes a bit of a rift with Oliver.

Excited to see what happens next!

This is so good I don't have any words. Reading this felt like coming home in the best possible way. The humour was spot on. The characters feel so real it's like I'm there with them. The relationships between the characters are so realistic but also perfect that it allows me to escape into the world of Luc O'Donnell but still keep my feet on the ground. Apart from one or two spelling/gramma errors this was perfect. I loved getting back into an Alexis Hall book. More than anything I want to read the rest of the book right now. This book is gay, romantic, real, raw and hilariously beautiful. I'd recommend it to any and all people.

Thank you Netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca for this preview!

It was so delightful to join the world of Luc and Oliver again. As many wonderful laughs and heartfelt moments as I remember. I just wish I didn’t have to wait until August for the rest of the book! Can’t wait to dive back into the rest of the story

Thank you NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca, for the chance to read and review this preview in exchange of an honest review.

First of all, I loved being able to read these chapters, but they only increase my need to read this book! I miss these characters so much and it was beautiful coming back to them and following their story. I love Luc and Oliver, their chemistry, bantering, love and I definitely am so curious about what will happen to them!

I can't wait for this to be released. With only the preview, I am already familiar with Luc and Oliver and want to know more! I want to know how many more tables they can break and more dick pics. Alexis is so good at writing funny dialogue that doesn't feel forced. I love his writing and honestly, just read his books.

I cannot wait for this book to come out! 5 chapters is simply not enough 😭

I loved being back in Luc's world and his head -- his anxiety-induced stream of conciseness type of thinking is so much fun to get back into! And I absolutely adore Oliver, who just shines as much as he did in Boyfriend Material. He's already so supportive of Luc, as always, and I can't wait to see how his and Luc's relationship grows further ,

I don't think I can wait until August for this book !

I adored this from start to finish, even though it was only the first 5 chapters. I was immediately hooked again by all of the characters and their humor. Also, Luc is so relatable, his inner commentary is hilarious and I truly laughed out loud. I’m craving the rest of this book now, I couldn’t put it down once I started the preview.

I just read the first five chapters of Husband Material and I want more. Now! But sadly the sequel to Boyfriend Material only comes out in August. Sigh …

Okay, let’s frame this differently. I just read five fabulous chapters of Husband Material and I found my favorite summer read! Dreaming about the book already 🥰!

Reading this sneak peek of one of my most anticipated 2022 books felt like settling back into a comfy chair. Luc and Oliver and all their friends and all their absurdities are just as funny and sweet as ever. We get an absolutely hilarious classic Alex Twaddle joke routine in this excerpt, and, you know what, I have missed these characters so much! Two years on from the events of Boyfriend Material, they've clearly grown, and grown together, but are still as occasionally messed up as they ever were, in a way that feels totally realistic and human. If the rest of the book continues as delightfully as these first five chapters, fans of Boyfriend Material will be in for an absolute treat. I can't wait to read the rest (and can't believe I still have so many more months to wait)!
