This story was a rare one for me in terms of guessing the twists and turns of the plot, especially all of the build up in the beginning. The very opening premise has us (the readers) set for something akin to magical realism...how can Cass have perfect memories of this amazing man...having never met him? And how ON EARTH does she wander into a random flower shop after her return to her life months after a near-death car accident and find her dream man?

I loved a lot about this book, and as a fan of Korean Dramas, so many times that "second lead syndrome" is a real thing and we all really just want the heroine to bypass the hero all together and see what we all see....that the second lead in the story is really THE ONE.

Avoiding spoilers, I will just say that this book managed to move me down all my favorite avenues of a romance book without being cliche and managed to keep me guessing the whole time. The payoff and the HEA were worth every page leading to them.

I adored Shipped so I was excited to read another novel by this author. I read this book in one sitting because I couldn't put it down! It's funny and sweet with just enough quirk.

Angie Hickman does not disappoint! This book had me hooked from the first page. With so many twists and turns I wasn’t expecting, I was guessing up until the very end. I love it!

Angie Hockman wows again in another swoonworthy and delicious book. In Dream On, main girl Cass wakes up from a coma fully believing that she had been dating this absolute dreamboat of a guy, Devin Bloom. But as she acclimates back to normal life, she realizes that her subconscious completely made this up since she can’t find any evidence of this supposed relationship. Imagine her surprise when she finds out that Devin actually exists--and is the brother of Perry, the SUPER hot local florist she visits. Not only does Cass have to fit her dreams into reality, she has to decide whether her dreams actually will make her happy.

OH MY GOD I CANNOT WITH ALL THE FEELS 😫😫😫😫 The worst part about having brown eyes is that no one is ever going to give me purple flowers “because it brings the green out of your eyes” BUT MY GOD am I gonna live vicariously through Cass. As always, the relationship and character development are so on point, and the novel is just chock-full of heart melting moments.

I love Cass as the FMC, she is surprisingly mature and communicative for a romance heroine, and she’s never afraid to speak her mind. In several moments when I thought she would do the stereotypical romance huff leaving the guy in her life wondering what he did wrong, Cass actually stayed to explain exactly why X, Y, and Z he did made her uncomfortable/was wrong etc. The amount of emotional maturity and how well-explained and well-demonstrated her motivations are leave no room for the messy miscommunication I absolutely hate in romances.

The plot is a bit tropey and pretty predictable: you can guess who the OTP is as soon as they meet and the ‘plot twists’ can be seen from miles away. However, I have nothing against using tropes as long as they’re done well, and Angie really writes the tropes SO WELL. She knows exactly when to employ it and when to depart from it to weave such a beautiful romance.

I enjoyed Shipped so I wa a happy to give this a shot! The synopsis seems like sci-fi and is totally nuts, but it was a fun rom-com soap opera cheese fest!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was such a fun read! I was hooked by the unique and interesting premise and stayed for the lovable characters! I really enjoyed Cass as a main character and I was rooting for her the whole time! The side characters were great too, and I would read a whole book about Cass’s best friend, Brie. I loved the twists and turns in this book, some I saw coming and some I was surprised by, but I though they all made sense and worked for the story.

I’m not a huge fan of love triangles, but I think it was handled well here. I do think the end was a little rushed and I wish more time was spent on the romance. I think I enjoyed other aspects of the book more than the romance.

I also really liked Shipped and I’m looking forward to reading more from Angie Hockman!

Dream On was amazing!! I didn’t go in with such high expectations as I didn’t LOVE Hockman’s debut Shipped, but this one totally did it for me. While the premise of this book is out there, I was hooked within the first few pages. The writing flowed effortlessly, there was a great crew of supporting characters, and I loved getting to know Cass both personally and professionally. In terms of the romance, this book is about fate bringing people together and the choices we make, especially when our heart starts to long for another choice. It’s essentially a closed-door romance, other than some kissing and one brief sex scene in the epilogue. Usually I crave swoon-worthy moments when two characters have undeniable chemistry, but I don’t think there needed to be any in this book. I was so invested in Cass’ journey in figuring out who she loves, and the self-realizations she discovered during this process that I blew through the pages completely satisfied. There were also several twists throughout the book that I did not see coming, which was a great addition to the predictable story arc we see in romance novels. The epilogue was pretty much everything I would have wanted and the author did a great job tying all the loose ends with the supporting characters as well the mains.

I think this book is perfect for fans of “Lease on Love,” “Just Haven’t Met You Yet” and Christina Lauren books.

Read if you like:
-Love triangles
-Slow-burn and closed-door romance
-Ohio setting
-Female attorneys
-Flower shops
-Food, beer and art festivals

An ARC from NetGalley and Gallery Books publishing. A truly unique and fascinating rom-com! I loved this book so much! I found myself enthralled in this book almost immediately. I thought this book was cute, funny, exciting, and captivating.

Book tropes: dream man, professional woman, love triangle, coma-induced-memories.

Cass Walker wakes up from a coma and has romantic memories of a man she’s never met. Her doctors and family are convinced that he’s just a figment of her imagination, an anomaly from her head trauma. A year later, she meets the man of her dreams and her world stops spinning (literally— she faints). Cass and Devin owe it to themselves and the universe to explore their cosmic connection. After spending time with Devin and his brother Perry, Cass finds herself trapped between her law firm job and doing what’s right for others. Along the way, she questions whether her connection with Devin is too good to be true.

I’m not usually a fan of the love triangle trope, but Angie Hockman executed this wonderfully that I actually loved it. I thought this book was unexpected and crazy but in all the best ways. The plot of this book was so creative and clever. I can’t wait to read more from Angie Hockman!

When overworked law school graduate, Cassidy Walker, has a car accident that leaves her in a coma, she wakes up with both memory loss and a set of new memories involving a boyfriend named Devin Bloom. The only problem is, no one knows what she is talking about, and there is no evidence he actually exists. That is until she meets the very real Devin Szymanski and realizes he is the man of her dreams. Or is he?

I loved Angie Hockman’s debut, “Shipped”, and knew I needed to read “Dream On” as soon as it was announced. And like I knew from the moment I saw the super cute cover, it did not disappoint.

Immediately engaging, her writing is such that you always feel as though you know her characters in real life. They are very normal, flawed individuals, who you begin rooting for almost from the beginning. This book also features several different tropes, so I think it will resonated with many.

I highly recommend both “Dream On” and “Shipped” (if you haven’t already read it) for a quick super cute rom-com you are sure to enjoy!

This book has been on my list ever since I read Angie Hockman’s Shipped last year and I wasn’t disappointed! I was immediately attached to the standup cast of characters and raced my way through this over a few afternoons. What would you do if you woke up from a coma to find out the man you remember as your boyfriend doesn’t exist? As Cass gets back on her feet a year after her car accident and runs into the man who looks just like the boyfriend from her dreams—is it fate?

This forbidden love trope was a bit predictable at times but unfolded in slow motion as I read and didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed this book all the way to its HEA!

This was fine. I liked Shipped and I was excited to read this one, but I think it was a little too cheesy for me. I liked the concept
Of her waking up and “knowing” Devin. And I liked the love triangle aspect. But overall it just wasn’t very exciting to read.

I enjoyed Shipped, this author’s previous book, so I was intrigued by this one. The premise especially seemed wild, and I wanted to know what happened. Dream On was a swoonworthy romance about the real man of your dreams.

When Cass Walker wakes up from a coma due to a car accident, she’s shocked to find out that her vivid memories of her boyfriend Devin aren’t real—that is, Devin doesn’t exist at all. A year later, she’s mostly resumed her regular life, walking into Perry‘s flower shop one day, only to find out that he’s Devin’s brother. Cass and Devin set off to find out how she knows so much about him without ever meeting him while she also gets to know Perry better and tries to decide whether a life of cutthroat law is what she really wants.

I liked the characters! Cass is determined and levelheaded, except the fact that she can’t get Devin out of her head. Brie, her best friend, is so supportive and always there for her; I liked seeing the strength of their friendship. Devin is the typical love interest, one that seems perfect for Cass at first. While Cass butts heads with Perry at first, it soon becomes apparent that he’s also very caring and defensive of his brother.

Unfortunately, I did find the pacing to be strange; the first half is a whirlwind, as Cass gets to know Devin better. However, the second half takes a different turn and I just felt that the sequence of events didn’t really hold my interest that much. Also, there’s a bit of a love triangle, which you can feel coming on about a quarter of the way through. I’m not necessarily complaining about that, but I just wasn’t invested in her conflicting feelings about the two love interests, which led me to be more bored during the second half than anything.

Overall, I think a lot of people will have fun with Dream On. I just didn’t find myself too invested in the characters or the inner conflict, so the second half ended up being a letdown to me. Those are my personal opinions, though! Hopefully you will enjoy this book more than I did.

Recent law graduate Cass has had a horrible accident and dreams of the perfect man. Upon waking, she realizes her fantasies were just that until she meets her dream man in a flower shop.

This book was adorable and had an unexpected freshness of not making the main characters have constant misunderstandings or a lack of communication. I loved that the book also had a flower shop as basically another charming character and spent some time allowing growth of the main character.

I loved Shipped, and I love this book just as much.

Oh, wow! This one might even be more precious and lovely than her first book! I had been waiting for a copy of Shipped to come off the holds list at my public library for a while, and I devoured it in one day. I immediately checked Netgalley to see if her next book was available as an ARC and was over the moon excited when I got it sent that same day.

It’s a rare book that makes me actively put it down and stop reading it, just to savor it and make it last even longer. Dream On was definitely one of them.

“In this fresh romantic comedy from the author of Shipped, heralded as an “absolutely sparkling debut” by Entertainment Weekly, a woman wakes up from a car accident with memories of a boyfriend she’s never met...only to run into him a year later. Perfect for fans of Christina Lauren and Rebecca Serle.”

Without spoiling too much about this book, it definitely had distinct “While You Were Sleeping” vibes with the whole coma thing. (Also, if you don’t know what I’m referencing, then you need to immediately watch the absolutely glorious 1990s Sandra Bullock/Bill Pullman romantic comedy. You won’t regret it).

I really liked the main character Cass - she’s sharp and funny, and I was rooting for her the entire time. I also think Hockman did a good job of developing her secondary characters, as they felt like a more significant part of the story than just to move the main plot along. I also did NOT see several twists of the story coming, but it all made perfect sense, and I liked that I was caught unawares.

That being said, some of the ending could have been a little less far-fetched, but it wasn’t a deal-breaker. The epilogue was pretty much everything I wanted as well. I would have to give this one a 4.5 out of 5. In summary, read both of Hockman’s books and follow her on whatever social media you use - I think she’s going to be one to watch and an automatic buy for me!

What would it be like to actually find your dream guy? Cass Walker wakes up from a coma to find out that her boyfriend Devin isn't really her boyfriend. She dreamed him up. Months later, he runs into him at a flower shop owned by his brother Perry. Devin believes her story and they start dating for real. After a while, Cass starts to see that fate may not be fate after all.

I loved this book! I didn't care for Devin, but I loved every interaction between Cass and Perry. He was a good brother and tried to be a good friend to Cass, but you could tell that he was falling for her from the beginning. My heart ached for him every time they were together.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC! It might be one of my books for 2022!

I feel like Angie Hockman will be an auto buy for me from now on. They way she writes, is so easy to read, and she keeps you entertained the whole way.
I'm not a huge fan of love triangles and find they rarely work, but luckily Hockman redeems herself here. I could tell who the ex was (quite obvious) but I liked the way that issue with her and Devin was solved. I like endings like that.
Perry himself was a lovely character. How he wasn't snatched up already is really a mystery. Brie, well, she was a perfect friend. Loved all their interactions and her advice.

I requested Dream On after reading Angie's other book that I enjoyed. The plot sounded different and like it maybe at potential. Overall, I think this book lacked depth for me and felt very one dimensional. The characters fell flat for me. Right when Cas met the brother, I felt like their was so much potential but then I felt the author didn't develop their relationship enough for where it ended up. They need more interaction. Also, the plot twist was interesting but extremely underwhelming. And the conflict and big "gesture" felt so cheesy and unnecessary. This is for readers who like really cheesy hallmark-type rom coms.

Dream On was a cute rom-com with a really interesting and different premise! I don't want to say too much and give anything away, but the author handled a difficult trope well and created an engaging and sweet book about self-discovery and choosing happiness. The romance was a little lighter than I expected but the "mystery" and Cass's personal growth made up for that in my opinion. There were a TON of twists in the last third of the book but it was fun and I really enjoyed Dream On! Looking forward to reading more from Angie Hockman!

I loved Shipped by this author but unfortunately this latest release fell flat for me. I didn't feel the chemistry or romance between the main characters and the love triangle felt awkward. I thought the premise was original and cute and did like how the main character experienced personal growth.
