I enjoyed this book. The plot was well paced and the characters were well developed. I would enjoy reading another book by this author in the future.

This was a cute twist on rom coms. I've read books where the mc forgets a significant other, but this was my first experience where they make up a significant other. After a car accident, Cass has vivid memories of her boyfriend, only to find out he isn't real. However, later on she runs into him, exactly how she had imagined him.

This was SUCH a cute romance. Dream On follows a young woman who wakes up after being in a coma with false memories of a relationship with a local man named Devin. Fast forward, this relationship never happened and her and Devin hadn't even met. When they run into each other at Devin's brother Perry's flower shop, sparks fly. between her and Devin .. and Perry.

In "Dream On", by Angie Hockman, Cass Walker has a horrible car accident on the way home from completing the Bar exam. This sends her into a coma, and when she awakes days later, she is convinced that she has a boyfriend named Devin Bloom (based on some very realistic dreams she had while unconscious). Upon waking, she asks for her boyfriend, only for her friends and family to tell her that he never existed. Confused but determined to move on, Cass begins a new apprenticeship at a very prestigious law firm and starts a rivalry with another young apprentice. After a successful first day at work, she stops by a floral shop and runs unexpectedly into Devin Bloom himself! This begins a series of hot dates, friendships, and unexpected feelings.

This was a really cute romance. I also really enjoyed the portions of the book in which Cass is discovering who she really is and what she really wants to do with her life. I would highly recommend this book. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

The plot of this book sounded so interesting and unlike anything I’ve ever read so I was so excited when my request to read it was approved. I was really hoping it wouldn’t let me down and it didn’t! I loved this book! Sometimes it takes me a bit to get invested in a story but I found myself immediately drawn into this one. I loved the characters and was so happy with where the story went. I’d recommend this to anyone who loves romance!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Gallery Books for allowing me to read this book!

the concept of this book was very interesting. falling into a coma, waking up thinking you have the perfect boyfriend and then finding out he doesn't even exist? It is a really unique idea and i didn't know what to expect. unfortunately, for me, the execution was slightly underwhelming and fell a little flat because the romance started going almost immediately in a direction that i didn't particularly enjoy (can't really say what because it's spoilery). Usually when I start to dislike the romance, I also start to lose interest in the book in general which is what happened here. I think other people will like this more than I did though, because of the unique concept.

I liked Shipped and thought it had good adversaries to lovers chemistry and a fun setting. Dream On has good potential but there are some weird plot/characterization holes that took me out of the fantasy.

My biggest issue: the setup of Cassidy’s law firm job. We first meet Cassidy right after she’s finished her bar exam, presumably the July after she’s graduated from law school. She has a car accident and dreams of a boyfriend, Devin Bloom. When she awakes, her family tells her there is no Devin Bloom.

We then fast forward a year. We’re told that because of the accident, Cassidy couldn’t start her job as an associate at a fancy law firm, Smith and Boone, but she’s been offered a summer associateship to try to get a full-time offer again. We’re also told that the nature of the internship is cutthroat since they are all competing for the same jobs.

But that’s not how law firm jobs work! Usually what happens is you interview at the beginning of your second year (2L), accept a summer associateship position for your 2L summer, work there, and if they like you, you get an offer for a full-time associateship to start after you graduate. It is hard to believe that the law firm wouldn’t agree to let Cass defer a year to recover from her accident and start her full-time associateship a year late. And if for some reason they didn’t allow this, then the idea that they would offer a summer associateship instead that may parlay into an immediate job doesn’t make any sense. If Cass is the high achiever that we know she is, she wouldn’t ever accept this.

We’re also told that Cass worked at the US Attorney’s office her 1L summer but we’re never told of where she worked her 2L summer. Since Cass thinks she wants to work at a firm, presumably she would have accepted an offer to be a summer associate her 2L summer, but we know she didn’t do a summer at Smith and Boone. This may seem like a small glitch but it totally made me spend too much time working all this out and distracted from the story.

We know the main issue is that she thinks she’s competing against another competitive law school graduate for a position. So I think the easiest way to set this up is to have Cass and Mercedes starting at Smith and Boone as new associates a year after their law school graduation. Both took and passed the bar and are licensed. Neither of them summered at Smith and Boone. Maybe Cass had originally planned to go to a different city but then due to a breakup realized her last year of law school that she wanted to stay closer to home near her brothers. And maybe Mercedes was doing a fancy internship somewhere else that 2L summer (or she took on a second degree). In the year since law school graduation, maybe Mercedes was clerking for a judge or finishing up a masters, which will contribute to Cass’s feelings of not measuring up academically. because they are new to the firm and didn’t summer there previously, the firm is having them work for a few months before they’re permanently assigned to a practice group. Both of them want litigation. Cass had had an offer to do litigation but because of her rehab from the accident, she had to defer it a year and her getting placed in litigation is no longer a sure thing. Even though they’re not actual summer associates, they’re still invited to the summer associate activities. This keeps the tension and competition with Mercedes while resolving the weird plot issues.

Tiny thing: there is mention of Cass being “the editor” of Law Review. But there’s not just one editor; there are multiple ones with an editor in chief at the top. So the book should either make clear that she’s the editor in chief or just say she’s “an editor”.

Next quibble: Cass breaks major ethical boundaries in the book. She’s a rule follower and it is hard to imagine her risking disbarment. Worse than that, she doesn’t seem aware of the stakes; she talks about worrying about her job, but it’s even bigger than that. I think that Cass needs to know that she wants to tell the love interest information but knows that she can’t so she insists on his brother telling him (the way it’s presented now, she tells the brother to tell him or she will. But she can’t under any circumstances!). And then when she does research on her own, that needs to be clearly done on her own time not using firm resources.

At another point, the love interest makes a bouquet for Cass, putting purple in to contrast her brown eyes that have a ring of green. Cass and the love interest both note that green is the complementary color of purple. I had always learned that yellow was the complement to purple and stopped reading to google color wheels. One easy fix would be to say that the part of her eye is yellow-green.

Another issue: Cass’s mom and best friend think she’s crazy for drawing pictures of someone she hasn’t met that they don’t think is real (a plot point eerily reminiscent of 50 First Dates). But if these are people who love and support Cass, then their reactions seem harsh. Why wouldn’t they instead focus on being worried that Cass is hung up on this person rather than crazy? The rest of their shock when Cass meets the mystery person in real life would still happen and that way, I don’t immediately question whether the mom and best friend are meant to be that mean.

Another issue I have with the plot is that there’s supposed to be a big viral moment at the end. But it just doesn’t seem plausible and didn’t ring true. That’s not the kind of thing that goes viral. Sigh. All of these quibbles may not appear on another reader’s radar, but they did for me and so I spent way too much of the book unable to stop thinking about how the book’s plot points didn’t work. There is definitely a good story to be told about a woman who thinks she wants one thing but discovers she wants another. But the book as is needs editing in order to not distract from that story.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All opinions obviously mine.

I was really intrigued by the premise for this book. Cass meets Devin and it seems like they have great chemistry and that she is living her dreams. But we get some twists and turns in here, some that I was not expecting. I loved that Cass really figures out where she wants her life to go and that even though she got a second chance at being a great lawyer, that might not be where her dreams are pointing her.
I liked the friendship with Brie and the other relationships that are developed and grow during this book. Like Cass's relationship with her mother.
I also really liked the imagery created of the flower shop and the whole town. I really felt like i was there and could picture all the flowers.
This book will suck you in and keep you reading till the very end.

Thanks NetGalley for this ARC!

I enjoyed this book. The main character Cass was in a tragic accident. When she wakes up from the coma, she comes to find out the man she was dreaming of did not exist. Cass a year later walks into a coffee shop where she discovers her dream man is real!

I really enjoyed this book. This book was filled with twists. I did not see the ending coming but I absolutely loved it.

DREAM ON 🌺
By Angie Hockman

I’m in awe after finishing this ARC!

Cass just finished the law school bar exam when she is in a terrible car accident. She awakens from a coma asking for her boyfriend Devin. The only issue is Devin doesn’t exist. One year post accident she lands a dream job and finally meets Devin, the man in her dreams. Unfortunately dreams are not always as they seem.

Wow wow wow!! I am amazed with this author. This read is Clean and wholesome with a pinch of spice 🔥 I didn’t see the ending coming but there were a few clues sprinkled throughout! This can easily be finished same day, the writing keeps you hooked! I will be recommending to my fellow readers!

Dream On was different than any book I've read! It was full of twists that I didn't see coming, and I really enjoyed trying to figure out what was going to happen! I super adored Cass's friendship with Brie. Best friend goals for sure!

“Dream On” by Angie Hockman

3.5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

To start, I love the cover of this book. It has all of my favorite colors, and I love flowers and plants. 💐🪴

This was a cute read, I enjoyed the characters and the involvement of a flower shop.
Although you can figure out what will happen pretty early on, it was still a fun read.

My main dislike was the pace of the story. Sometimes you would be reading and then the next paragraph would say, three weeks later…
Also, the ending felt really rushed and everything resolved too well. If you are a person that disliked epilogues, you will not like this one. I typically like them but this one was too much for me.

Overall, I would recommend if you want a cute and quick romance read. 💕

Thank you NetGalley for this eARC. This book will come out on July 5th! ☀️

Class Walker has just taken he bar exam and falls into a coma. After surviving a car accident she wakes up with vivid memories of her boyfriend Devin. However, her best friend and Mom have never heard of him. Hilarity ensues when she experiences a meeting with a cute florist but has her memories of the dreamy boyfriend Devin Bloom a year after waking up from her coma.

Pacing of the book is quite nice, I didn’t feel bored nor did some of the timeline of events feel trite. There is a lot of inner dialogue the reader experiences as Cass narrates her feelings on everything. Overall, fun weekend read. Thank you NetGalley and Simon and Schuster for the ARC.

I thought the story of how the main character 'knew' the boyfriend was good-I coudn't really see how the author was going to explain it in a plausible way. Overall I wasn't in love with the romance. I just didn't get invested in it. I would try another book by this author, but this one didn't wow me.

I liked the author’s previous book Shipped, which was why I wanted to read this book. Cass woke up after a coma thinking a cute guy named Devin was her boyfriend. She found out that Devin doesn’t exist. But a year later meet him for real and tells him her nutty story. He believed her, which was nutty as well, but they decided to give it a try. Now there were two problems with the story for me. One was the odd love triangle. Now, I know many people don’t mind that but I do a lot. So this story diminished for me since Devin was a great guy. The second was the slow build up of the romantic relationship. It took forever. On a side note I loved her best friend Brie and Marcus. I am hoping for a book on them. Even though I had those two pesky issues, I liked this story. I liked Cass and the characters. This book would make a cute rom com movie.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.

5 swoon-worthy, head-over-heels, romantic stars~

I definitely won the lotto with this one :) Thank you to NetGalley for my digital copy for review!

After reading "Shipped" by Angie Hockman, I KNEW I had to get my hands on this ASAP. Another shining 5-star review! I truly enjoyed every page.

The premise of this romance drew me in IMMEDIATELY - girl meets boy, girl gets into near-fatal car crash, girl remembers boy and is out on a search to find her *DREAM MAN*~ I can't think of anything more romantic than discovering that my dream man that seemed to be just an imagination being REAL! Could it be fated true love? Throw in some amazing characters, a very likeable [in my opinion] main character, fun plot-line, a whole lotta drama, and as much swoony romance as you can handle. Now, without giving any spoilers, I think I've just discovered one of my new favorite romance tropes.

This one definitely took me by surprise but I was pleasantly surprised!
Could this be a favorite romance of 2022? I think yes!

Is there a stronger word than 'love'? Because I LOVED this book.

DREAM ON is a charming, slow-burn romance with a unique plot. And OMG, the cover is so stunning I’d buy this book just based on that! :)
I was already a fan of Angie’s writing, but I truly enjoyed this book. This is a fast-paced, fun romance that held my interest from page one. I’m in love with the main characters (Cass and Perry) and I liked the side characters too. I had a theory why Cass had dreams of Devin (and it was close), but I liked Angie’s version better.
My occupation has nothing to do with law, but I could relate to Cass on many levels, especially towards the end, when Cass had to decide what truly made her happy in life.

When DREAM ON comes out in July, I’ll be the first one to buy it and I’ll be advising all of my friends to purchase it.

I can’t wait to read more from Angie. Thank you to Angie Hockman and NetGalley for this ARC!

💐 Dream On 💐

“You encouraged me to look inside myself and question what really makes me happy.”

Wow. Dream On was beautiful, unexpected, and a true delight. In it, we follow Cass, who woke up from a coma following a car accident with vivid memories of three months with a boyfriend, Devin, who doesn’t exist. But then she meets Devin in real life and is set on a path to discover what truly makes her happy and how her coma memories will shape into reality as she gets to know the man of her dreams.

I flew through this one, y’all. It was a precious story and warmed my heart. I won’t say too much to avoid spoilers, but just read it, y’all. You won’t regret it.

Check it out if you’re looking for:

Dream On follows Cass Walker who wakes up from a coma after surviving a car accident. She has memories of her boyfriend Devin and wants nothing more than to see him. There is just one problem Devin is not her boyfriend and no one knows about him. But To Cass Devin seems so real and she can not stop thinking about him. And then one day she runs into Devin but he does not know who she is. She explains her situation to him, and they begin a relationship. And soon her future seems perfect until she realizes that maybe things were meant to be different.

I was so excited to read this book because I loved Angie Hockman's first book Shipped. This one was also such a cute read. I loved the overall plot of this one. And the end was really cute. I will say there were some parts of this book that dragged on a little for me. But I enjoyed the relationship between all of the characters. And like so many things happen in this book that doesn't just focus on the main relationships of the characters. And I liked that we got to see the characters grow throughout this novel. And I do like that the end was not what you thought it was going to be. ( Although, I did kind of predict the end halfway through the book. ) Overall another really cute romance book.

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Angie Hockman, and Gallery Books for the ARC of this book.

Another amazing book by Angie! This was such a unique storyline! This was not what I was expecting at all, but I really loved it! I missed the banter from Shipped, but this was a really sweet story. I loved the friendships throughout this book! This is a perfect summer romcom! I cannot wait to read more from Angie!
